If it means anything, Burton thinks it's Daje Johnson related while Howe thinks it's Thomas Johnson related.
I hope it's the later. The timing concerns me in regards to DGB.

Quick update on the DGB timeline:
-OU's Jay Norvell (WRs coach) is in Springfield today for an in-home visit with the Beckham family, still trying to get DGB to Norman on January 27th-28th. Missouri is also battling for that date.
-Arkansas' Bobby Petrino (head coach) is also in Springfield and will be doing his in-home visit tonight. Reports today are saying DGB will officially visit Fayetteville on Saturday and Sunday after his basketball tournament comes to an end.
-No dates are set for UT's visits, but Darrell Wyatt will return for another in-home later this week and Mack Brown will do his school and in-home visit next week.
Kourtzidis confirms will visit Texas

Florida State tight end commit Christo Kourtzidis (Orange, Calif./Lutheran) has decided make a visit to Texas this weekend.
His father, Akis Kourtzidis, confirmed to HornsNation on Wednesday night that Christo will be in Austin on Friday and Saturday, but that he remains verbally committed to the Seminoles.
Venables confirms he is new Clemson DC.
Hopefully Texas can steal one late in the game. I'm sure he likes the idea of immediate playing time. The Applewhite/Cicero connection could end up paying dividends. Would be yet another feather in Major's recruiting cap. You think Irby will be his host since he's a California boy?
Quotes from ATH Daje Johnson:
"I love both positions (RB and DB)," Johnson said. "I guess that's what's easy about picking my position because I would play either position. I just want to find out which position will get me on the field quicker because I want to play right away. That's my goal."
"Today they came to my school and coach (Darrell) Wyatt he told me he wanted me to take a visit up there and possibly I'd be offered in a couple of days," he said.
"To be honest I was surprised. My coach texted me and told me to come down to the field house. I didn't know what he was talking about and then I saw [Coach Wyatt]. I was surprised. We were talking about setting up the visit and he was telling me they're down to their last couple of offers and they're looking for the best athlete."
"They're (Texas) high up there on my list," Johnson said of Texas. "It's not really a list. I guess they're right up there interest-wise with TCU. I'll just see how the visit goes and talk about it with my dad and my mom and all that."
"I think it's still offense, somewhere on offense," he said. "I'm not really sure of the exact position, but I guess we'll talk about that on my official visit."
Some random updates from Hook 'Em 24/7...
**TE Christo Kourtzidis will have an in-home with FSU coach Jimbo Fisher this evening. There is some talk on the FSU side of things that Kourtzidis could still decide against visiting Texas this weekend once he finishes speaking with Fisher, but it's a good sign for UT if he stays firm with his plans to visit Austin regardless.
**LSU coach Les Miles was in Denton last night to do an in-home visit with DE Mario Edwards. The official visit to Baton Rouge this weekend is definitely on. Jimbo Fisher has schedule his in-home with the Edwards family for Friday before he takes that trip. Mack Brown should have the last word next week.
**Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino has re-scheduled his in-home visit with WR Dorial Green-Beckham. Some assistant coaches for the Razorbacks were in Springfield yesterday instead and Petrino will be visiting next Thursday.
Two more "maybes" for the second Junior Day are 2013 QB JT Barrett and 2013 WR Jamar Gibson.
I think MEJ still considering LSU and keeping options open is good at this point for Texas. At this point I just want him questioning if FSU is best place and thinking about other options - I think that keeps us in the game

I agree. I'm still tempering my expectations but LSU is something to distract him. His tune seems to change after every visit he makes. It's been a long time since his visit to Austin so UT will need a bit of magic, but hopefully Mack and Diaz getting the last word will have some sort of impact. FSU appears to have solid positioning right now.
Per Hook 'Em 24/7, Brown, Giles and Chambers were all in Mansfield yesterday to do a school and in-home visit with DE Hassan Ridgeway. There have been rumors or Ridgeway taking visits for a long time but everything is said to be solid at this point.
A few more updates...
**Noles247 (FSU site) is tweeting that TE Christo Kourtzidis will NOT be visiting Texas this weekend, per his father. I think that recruitment changed quicker than Wallace's did a few weeks ago.
**Hook 'Em 24/7 is now reporting there's another committed recruit Texas is still communicating with and may try to get on campus as early as this weekend. No additional details were given. ATH Corey Coleman, maybe?
Back to offering Hobbs?

Edwards has eliminated Texas per hook em 247
That would fall in line with the reports of Texas having a hard time scheduling an in-home visit with the Edwards family. On to the next one. Maybe the mystery guy is Magee?
Mizzou's Gary Pinkel did this yesterday:

Mack, Harsin, Wyatt and Searels are in Athens today to see ATH Kendall Sanders:

Damn... What happened?! And if he's so solid to FSU then why is he still visiting LSU?? I'd sure like to know Jimbo's recruiting pitch. He got to recruits to eliminate us pronto!
I've always liked Magee but of course the coaches know much more behind the scenes issues. But if somehow we would get him it would lessen the pain especially if we get a commitment from DGB.
