Quote from LB Dalton Santos' father after committing to UT:
"He is extremely proud to be a Longhorn and vows to make his family and hometown of Van, Texas proud too."
The reports of Cottrell sticking with Oregon were a bit premature. A source of OrangeBloods has said he's "truly conflicted" at the moment and a decision could come at any time. I'll take a guess as to where his parents would prefer to have him.

Hassan Ridgeway plans on sticking
By William Wilkerson
AUSTIN, Texas - - Four-star defensive end Hassan Ridgeway (Mansfield, Texas/Mansfield) is “100 percent with Texas” despite taking an official visit to Texas A&M this weekend.
Ridgeway, a U.S. Army All-American, relayed that message to HornsNation on Sunday as he returned home from his visit to College Station.
What prompted the impromptu visit?
“Different reasons,” said the soft-spoken Ridgeway. “Playing time, some other things.”
Ridgeway did not elaborate on what those other things were. But he did say once he left his visit with the Aggies, he felt confident in his decision to become a Longhorn.
“I looked at it, and I didn’t care [about playing time],” Ridgeway said. “I want to be a part of Texas anyway, whether I got playing time or not.”
Ridgeway spoke with Texas defensive end coach Oscar Giles after the trip to ease any doubts on him leaving.
Ridgeway, the No. 20 defensive end in the country, has been committed to Texas since Feb. 16. He is one of two defensive ends committed in this class along with Beaumont (Texas) West Brook’s Caleb Bluiett.
When asked what it will feel like to sign his letter of intent to Texas on national signing day, Ridgeway responded, “It will be a big relief to finally get this over with.”

More quotes on the commitment of LB Dalton Santos from OrangeBloods:
"He committed to Texas this morning and he's fired up to be a Longhorn," said Santos' father, Albert Santos.
"It's a huge honor, a huge privilege," Santos said of the opportunity to be recruited by Texas. "I'm very blessed that I got this opportunity."
"Part of it is my at ude. I have an at ude that I don't care, I'm going to go make plays, going to do it the right way. I'm going to do it 100 percent, full speed, with no regrets in my mind. That's how I feel," Santos said. "I can improve on little things, my flexibility, things like that - just to know that no matter what I do or wherever I go, I can be a three-down linebacker. I want to make sure I can play all the time."
"Really, Texas is Texas. If it was just about being close, Arkansas would be there, Texas A&M, schools like that," Santos said. "There's just something about that place (Texas).
"I grew up in a family that's Texas Longhorn fans to the end," Santos said. "Growing up a Texas fan, that helps them out a ton."
First report we've seen of him communicating with the staff. I won't be sure of his status until he inks his LOI on Wednesday, but good to know he's at least having some sort of of contact with Giles.
Just a bunch of rumors. Even the pay sites are admitting that info is hard to come by. Nobody will speak.
Both A&M and Texas' 24/7 sites have said they think that Ridgeway being in CS last weekend as well is false. Doesn't meant he wasn't there obviously, but there are reports refuting that.
So I guess this means his brother is going as well. I wonder was the baggage of his brother a issue with Texas? If he was considering Auburn then I think we could have been in consideration if we could have just gotten him to campus. But how good is he really at end? Maybe Texas just didn't like him at end but rather he played tackle. Most sites rate him so high based on the OT position.
Well... There's nothing really more to discuss (unless aggie fans want to fuss on a TEXAS thread some more) smh.. We got Santos and Daje. Ridgeway seems to be in place. Now we just wait until NSD. If we get DGB the bad taste from loosing TJ will be overwhelmed with sweet victory. Thanks TFloss and supporting cast for such a great informational thread this recruiting season. Everyones contributions were well appreciated and I look forward to starting fresh with approaching junior days.
Nope. Never expected Santos to come to A&M.
I don't mind aggie fans or any other fans visiting this thread. It's a great thread. But I'd like to also mention that I'm yet to visit a aggie site. I don't care who posts, as long as it's relevant. And if someone posts something that is meant to be distractional then just ignore it and keep it moving. People like that feed off of reactions, don't give them that benefit and they'll find something better to dol. Try it and see. Just sayin...
Wow. What do you guys think of this article? Jameis Winston would have commited to Texas if offered. Too late now, he says....recruiting is crazy and thats why I love it. You just never know...

Ive heard something of this nature before. Never directly heard him say that he would commit to Texas if offered, but heard that he was very bitter to not receiving a offer from Texas. He said something like, " I guess i wasnt good enough." Idk what to think about this. He is a damn good quarterback for sure.
I call BS.
I've read Winston was also an OU fan growing up too. Harsin has had a chub for Brewer even when he was at Boise and he seems to have locked on to Swoopes next year too (not that that's a bad thing).
A lot of smoke saying current TCU commit Edward Pope has switched his pledge to A&M.

And for those interested, Polo Manukainiu is making his decision on local Dallas news around 10:15 tonight.
Hope you do get him, better for us
Much like it's better Santos is with yall and not Tennessee.
Well maybe we can help you out with
DGB also, y'all don't want that dude at Arkansas.
I think he ends up at Mizzou.
Definitely hoping DGB ends up at Texas or atleast Mizzou. Not Arky please.
Polo Manukainu has committed to A&M.

Unfortunately I think he goes to Arkansas, hope i'm wrong. I don't have any inside info or anything but I would guess Mizzou would actually be in third behind Texas.
Another quote from DE Hassan Ridgeway. We'll know soon enough if he follows through:
“I saw everything I needed to see at Texas A&M and plenty more,” Ridgeway said. “But at the end of the day, it just didn't beat Texas. That's why I'm going to sign with Texas on Wednesday.”
If DGB cares about winning he won't go to mizzou.
I just have to think the pressure to stay in state is pretty great. Plus, his last visit was Missouri. We'll know very soon though.
