I don't know about it being weak. While there's always outliers (David Robinson for one), a high PER has a strong correlation to playoff success, and most of the players who make the top ten lists are typically top ten all time in regular season and playoff PER. Even before they used PER, they often unknowingly awarded the MVP to the player who indeed would have a top 3 PER for that year.
    career PER in Playoffs

    1. Michael Jordan* 28.59 2. George Mikan* 28.51 3. LeBron James 26.31 4. Shaquille O'Neal 26.12 5. Hakeem Olajuwon* 25.69 6. Tim Duncan 25.43 7. Dirk Nowitzki 24.75 8. Tracy McGrady 24.66 9. Dwyane Wade 24.56 10. Charles Barkley* 24.18 11. Dwight Howard 23.65 12. Dolph Schayes* 23.29 13. Jerry West* 23.06 14. David Robinson* 23.02 15. Amare Stoudemire 23.01 16. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar* 23.01 17. Magic Johnson* 22.95 18. Wilt Chamberlain* 22.77 19. Bob Pet * 22.59 20. Kobe Bryant 22.28 21. Baron Davis 22.20 22. Elgin Baylor* 21.83 23. Kevin Garnett 21.67 24. Playing like ass for a stretch during a game and still winning >>>>> playing great individual basketball and losing

At least as far as SpursTalk goes, something I don't quite get is when Laker haters and Kobe haters want to talk about how overrated Kobe is but they're often the ones who start threads and make the most posts about him. He's overrated. He's a ballhog. He's inefficient. He's selfish. Well , stop talking about him. Stop starting threads. Stop devoting half your posts on him. That would be my suggestion.

do u ever hear any player, coach, gm, ect mention it?

Lebron had higher per than kobe in 2010, way higher, but tell me what did alvin gentry say in the playoffs?
did he say lebron is better than kobe because of >per? no lol
he said kobe is the best player in the leageu, it's not even close...kobe homer?
Yes, cause coaches always say stuff that makes sense.

"Michael Jordan would average 60 in today's game."

    - Larry Brown, basketball genius.

Also, coaches and "NBA experts" ALWAYS says hyperbolic following a playoff series. When Duncan destroyed the Lakers in '03, Magic said he was the best post-player he's ever seen. This is coming from a guy who played with Kareem. Coaches, announcers, analysts often get caught up in the moment and will say any amount of dumb things that only fanboys of that particular player being lauded would interpret as solid analysis.

Are you mad that Kobe is 20th? Is that why you don't take it seriously?

I know you'll use players like Baron Davis and Amare as proof that PER is an unreliable stat, but what you fail to acknowledge is those two have relatively small sample sizes. Do me a favor and adjust the list so it features players who played more than 100 playoff games.

If you weren't mad and didn't feel the need to defend Kobe, you wouldn't be in this thread posting those lists in attempt to debunk PER.

"Michael Jordan would average 60 in today's game."

    - Larry Brown

Any "internet opinion" that would claim Jordan would average nowhere near that would be superior to Larry Brown's in this case. So yes, it's possible for "internet opinion" to be > coach's opinion.

"Kobe’s defense, to be accurate, has faltered in recent years, despite his presence on the league’s all-defensive team. The voters have been seduced by his remarkable athleticism and spectacular steals, but he hasn’t played sound, fundamental defense.

"Mesmerized by the ball, he’s gambled too frequently, putting us out of position, forcing rotations that leave a man wide open, and doesn’t keep his feet on the ground.”

Players who've had long careers, their lower numbers toward the end bringing down the overall average. You understand the concept of aging, don't you?
