Yes, cause coaches always say stuff that makes sense.
"Michael Jordan would average 60 in today's game."
- Larry Brown, basketball genius.
Also, coaches and "NBA experts" ALWAYS says hyperbolic following a playoff series. When Duncan destroyed the Lakers in '03, Magic said he was the best post-player he's ever seen. This is coming from a guy who played with Kareem. Coaches, announcers, analysts often get caught up in the moment and will say any amount of dumb things that only fanboys of that particular player being lauded would interpret as solid analysis.
Do you dislike pussy and asshole?
im a happy lakers fan...what part of midnightpulp died just now?
what hurts me though is seeing players like Lin look all-world against an older Kobe...a prime Kobe would have shat all over that chanks head![]()
Are you mad that Kobe is 20th? Is that why you don't take it seriously?
I know you'll use players like Baron Davis and Amare as proof that PER is an unreliable stat, but what you fail to acknowledge is those two have relatively small sample sizes. Do me a favor and adjust the list so it features players who played more than 100 playoff games.
lol imagine how they felt![]()
Lol at "coaches' opinion"
Mad that Kobe is 20th.
why would I be mad?
5 championships
I hadn't seen that in a while. Tim is a badass.
poster on internet opinion > nba coaches opinion
yeah sure, only on the internet, but real life is a different story
If you weren't mad and didn't feel the need to defend Kobe, you wouldn't be in this thread posting those lists in attempt to debunk PER.
Mad that Kobe is 20th![]()
As much as we needed it, they needed it more. & they didn't get it.
Just absolutely killer.
are u srs?
im mad because kobe is 20th on a formula made up by some guy?
yeah im raging right now. so mad!
"Michael Jordan would average 60 in today's game."
- Larry Brown
Any "internet opinion" that would claim Jordan would average nowhere near that would be superior to Larry Brown's in this case. So yes, it's possible for "internet opinion" to be > coach's opinion.
you are basically asking for kori to pink midnight. I think he has some immunity to that. But it would stop trolls. Tough decision
The formula is pretty consistent. If you didn't care, you wouldn't expend any effort trying to debunk it.
20th![]()
You're right. I was looking forward to burning your ass something fierce.
bird 24th
magic 17th
kareem 16th
wilt 18th
so accurate
"Kobe’s defense, to be accurate, has faltered in recent years, despite his presence on the league’s all-defensive team. The voters have been seduced by his remarkable athleticism and spectacular steals, but he hasn’t played sound, fundamental defense.
"Mesmerized by the ball, he’s gambled too frequently, putting us out of position, forcing rotations that leave a man wide open, and doesn’t keep his feet on the ground.”
- Phil Jackson

Now you're acting like somebody. It ain't snatchin' a pebble out from twixt my asscheeks, or, carrying Katie's scalding soup pot out to the yard, but, it's an improvement.
Players who've had long careers, their lower numbers toward the end bringing down the overall average. You understand the concept of aging, don't you?
