Po Folks had some good food and for the price you recieved a very nice portion.

I also remembrt the tin bucket cafe near Ingram....they would put the drinks on mason jars.
    I'm po but I'm proud!

I thought this thread was about Po Boy Pantry. Man, they had some awesome sandwiches back in the 80's. They also had a working train that circled the ceiling of the restaurant -good times.

Yup, that was the one right up the road from where I still live. They had several around town. Now Las Palapas sits there I believe. Funny how things change in time.
Sounds like a major upgrade. Machacado from Las Palapas is great .

Bizzarely, they had a location on Fair Avenue (not too far from Highlands HS) for quite a while. It was a pretty odd location with only several dumpy and very old strip malls near by.

I loved the Chicken Fried Steak from Po Folks.

If we'd given my Dad a choice, he would always eat at the Tin Bucket Cafe.
