Sounds like a major upgrade. Machacado from Las Palapas is great .
Bizzarely, they had a location on Fair Avenue (not too far from Highlands HS) for quite a while. It was a pretty odd location with only several dumpy and very old strip malls near by.
I lived in converse so the walzem one was the one we went to all the time. Shrimp po boy for the win.
They still exist in other states apparently.
