It would be totally irresponsible to rush himself back that quickly. If he tries to expedite his recovery process in order to play opening day, he risks reaggravating the injury. He'd be in' stupid to not sit out at least til January.

Suggs had a partial tear and plays a much slower paced sport. Beckham did have a complete tear, but plays in a sport that demands much less athleticism. A more comparable example is Chauncey Billups, who took a year to recover from a partial tear. But yeah, Kobe is this near-divine specimen that possesses superhuman qualities and will recover from one of the most severe injuries in sports in just a few months.
