Maybe he had too much of the "black thing" and it made Laker brass squirm in their Brooks Brothers.
1/2 of it. If he'd a looked like Denzel Washington, or, Poitier at prime then he would a got a fair shake. But, with the watermelon grin and the Step & Fetch it way he had it was untenable.

And he's not Phil. Phil is gone. He did not want to coach us. He quit, Killa, not once, but twice. We gave him a second chance and he quit again.

There are a limited number of quality coaches in this league. Popovich used to be one of them, but, he lost his way and is now consumed with Quija Boards, poking dolls with pins, and all manner of machinations. He ed around so bad that he missed his chance to play us sans Kobe, or, Utah because he was too busy running around & away. Then you have Carlisle in Texas. And the cream de la cream:::Rilstra in South Florida. That's it. 3. The remainder you can put in a burlap sack and pull one out blind. It won't matter.

He gave Pau a chance. Gasol has been drifting in the since Dallas kicked his ass up around his ears. He's a baby. A chicken , and Killa, everybody knows it, it's just that it's a union and they're sparing him, but, you can read between the lines.

We'll not improve on defense until we change out the players. We have nary a player that can stay in front of anybody. Again, Killa, everybody knows it, it's just that it's a union and they're sparing us, but, you can see it for yourself. It's embarrassing.
Cully great post I agree with 90% of what you wrote and I won't sully one of your most analytic posts by quibbling over 10% its beneath us, well done sir.

Your entire team failed. Kobe failed. So what does it matter? They suck with Kobe on the bench or on the court, Pringles needed to find him some rest and he failed miserably. You don't play a 35 year old in his 17th season 45mpg and routinely the entire gamePERIOD. At least Kobe may still have been around for the Lakers' inevitable sweeping at the hands of the Thunder. D'antoni is a ing joke and is seriously one of the main reasons the Lakers suck so much ass. Accept it.
So then is it that "So what does it matter?" or because he played Kobe too many minutes, Lee? You get one or the other, but, you ain't gettin' both.

    Chop/chop.

Agreed. Last night, even though Dwight had a nice box score game, there was fear there. Fear of the Bag as he summoned some of his historical form late there in the 4th. And even though the Lakers theoretically match up well with the Spurs, Howard isn't ready to step into the ring with the Bag and throw hands. The Bag don't sing and dance, and he sure don't in' smile. Howard ain't ready to stare down that challenge. Not yet. And maybe not ever.

And they're going to bring out the Hack-a-Howard in the playoffs. There's been a gentleman's agreement out of NY. to spare us that as we wind our way down. But, that will be lifted if we get in and they'll employ it with a vengeance. We were fortunate, extremely so, miraculously so with Hack-a-Shaq not harming us. We'll not have that fortune with Howard. We'll suffer because of it. You can see it, feel it.

And it is funny, but, I'm being serious. It's America. Estatetics (sp) is everything. That chick with the big ass. Everybody wants to buy in, but, we have to see her face before we'll commit our minds, so when we stroke off this afternoon, or climb on our wife or gf, we won't think of her because there is no face to confirm the ass. We'll think of the Ellis girl, or, DUNCAN and his cords.

And he doesn't have the indomitable will like Daddy. That relentless spirit that can persist through trial and tribulation. Howard was riding high there in Aught 9, skinning and grinning, top-of-the-world, doing his Rocky 5 Tommy Morrison impression thinking he can take Stallone. But Bynum was having none of that happy horse and saw right through the shucking-and-jiving, and on one leg, put Howard on the in' ground.

At that point, I knew. Howard ain't got what it takes. And you did too, didn't you? You knew.

There must be a lot of black guys in this board. That woman's ass is a turn off tbh. Thats too big. I like Emma Watson and Minka Kelly types btw.
Minka Kelly is gorgeous but I think Emma Watson looks like a kid, I would feel like a pedo worshiping her body type. But to each their own...plus ur a Clipper fan, no shame in being a pedo.

Yes, D'Antoni is an idiot. But it was Bryant's own ego that was his ultimate downfall. Even Kupchak admitted that nobody would ever stand up to Bryant and tell him anything. Their explanation or allowing Bryant to be a dictator/tyrant at all times is merely, "He's earned that right." I'll never understand it...inmate running the asylum.

Not so fast there, Cully. Lakers win vs Rockets = SPurs vs. Lakers 1st round. Looks like the Quija Board was right!

You never forget 'em. They're closer to the fore than the ring years. I ruminate over '84 all the time. I like to wallow in it. It's harmless. Not like cancer, or ruination.

That Laker team finished 1st in the West and lost in the Finals. Of course you don't forget that team. Just like us Spurs fans won't forget finishing first in the West in 95, only to see an MVP Robinson get raped by the Dream in the Conference Finals.

This Laker team has been fighting for the 7/8 spot with an underachieving $100 star studded roster. The 2 don't even compare...

Because the stakes are non-existent. Magic had to answer in '85, or, disappear into the potter's field. Kobe answered in '10 for '08 so that it wouldn't get out of hand again. Both feats were magnificent and one can argue that in isolation they're identical.

So basically you're clinging to the hope that Kobe and Howard will answer in 2014 for the 12-13 season debacle?

No. I'm saying the stakes would have no relation to '84-'85, or, '08-'10. Howard has no heritage, and Bryant settled all family business in '10. Perhaps something in the future could rise to such a level as the aforementioned years, but, not this. This is their own birddog. There are no slings & arrows of outrageous fortune here. We did this to ourselves. Nobody "helped us." You can't take vengeance on yourself. There is no payoff.
