The reality is that Embiid's career will likely take one of two courses: short and injury-filled with occasional flashes of brilliant play (Yao post-injury, Lopez now) or long and decent but with significantly less production (and fewer minutes) than people hoped. There's too much history for anyone responsible to hide behind, "Well, you never know."
