This. But a couple thoughts ...
1. It's ridiculous that his shoes are that expensive still ...considering very few are truly comfortable functional for hoops and he has been retired for so many years.
2. Normally urban youths get tired of even expensive after a while. It only stays hot so long. You see people wearing Phat Farm, roca wear, Sean Jean, Ed hardy like they did a few years back. Jordan's brand has outlasted them all ...
3. Jordan's arent even hoopin' shoes anymore they have iconic fashion wear status that doesnt seem to go out of style.
You can Hate MJ but his (Nike) marketing strategy and his game are two things that are undeniable. he was arguably the GOAT and even if you could argue James, Kareem, whomever he is in THAT convo if not the leader.
What I dont like ...
1. He never shown an ounce of genuine guilt over kids getting shot behind them. I know it's not his fault and people can get shot over KD's too ...but outside of some donations he doesnt seem to have any inkling to take a social stance
2. or use his platform to be an agent for political or social change
3. Although he may have some true points about LeBron his disparaging remarks does come across as bitter at times.
All that being said yes there are plenty of better humans who we WISH would be the GOAT but they are not ... MJ is.

Is there another main-stream, popular consumer product outside maybe the iphone that is even close to holding it's status as both a treasured product by urban kids, adults and even fellow players and celebs than Jordans?!
Off the top of my head I am hard pressed to find things that can compare. Maybe a Toyota? Everything else would be luxury items like Rolex, BMW, Mercedes Jaguar
But I am sure someone on this site has a marketing background probably forgetting something ...

Let's be real...if information would have been ready available as it is today Jordan's image would have been way too tarnished for Jordan Brand to achieve the longevity it has had. With all his character issues laid bare Nike would have bailed on him long ago. It makes one wonder how Jordan would have held up mentally if he got stretched over the log like the media does athletes today. I'm betting he would have had a fantastic public meltdown at some point. I mean ...we are talking about a guy whose pride is so fragile that he invited his old HS coach and the guy that played ahead of him to his HOF induction just so he could berate them.

Well then if not selling them, give them away (I would have taken them mother ers lol). He is a piece of though as a person and I don't think of him in the same light as I did when I was a youngin, dude just looks like an asshole to me now especially off the court. I can still watch his highlights and say he was that dude, but his off the court persona ruined a lot for me hearing some stories.
