Looking at the biggest upsets in recent history(this would qualify, since the Spurs were +900 underdogs)..

    2011 Grizzlies(+400) vs. Spurs- won game 1
    2009 Magic(+700) vs. Cavs- won game 1
    2007 Warriors(+1400) vs. Mavs- won game 1
    2004 Pistons(+400) vs. Lakers- won game 1

You must go absolute ape during games. I mean I do too but you're on another level. Your "intensity" as a fan is ridiculous.
I used to (you're right about that), but now I'm more calm and focused during live ball play during games. I just only go ape during timeouts or stoppages in play, or a bad call, but I don't harp on a bad call for too long. I'd actually rather be on the court playing. I think I'd feel better playing rather than watching. I wonder if Tim is feeling the same thing watching some of these games, especially last night's game.

2013 was the ultimate "never let up for a second otherwise it could rip your heart out" type of lesson learned. Gotta stay focused for the full 48. Maybe someone needs to tell the players this. Great first half, but the attention to detail in the second half was pure . Obviously Kawhi going out had a lot to do with that.

Ice's rants about Ryan Anderson were classic, tbh..
lol. I'd still punch him in the face even after winning the series. I still don't feel sorry for him losing his girlfriend/fiancee. Well, maybe just a little . Either way, when you're trying to beat someone, I didn't feel there is any need/place to feel sorry for him.

We had this one. So, what are you thoughts on the rest of the series?

I was pretty confident going into game one. And during the game (up until Kawhi went out), I thought winning this one would put the Spurs in position to push this series to the limit by either winning it in game 6 or at the very least taking it to game 7. This one game may have changed all that though. Freaking horrible change of events.

I hope Kawhi can play in game 2 and if he does play, whether it's game 2 or 3, I hope that he's not limited much by the injury.

Can the Spurs win a game in this series on the road? today's game is exhibit A that if the Kingslayer can be as healthy as he was at the start of say game 1 then yes. Can the Spurs win there home games against the Dubs? If Kawhi is as healthy as he was to start this game in game three then without a doubt. So to me the trick is concede game 2, use it to see what other bench guys are playable in this series, Davis or Dewayne, and rest Kawhi and Manu. The playoff series don't start until a home team loses so let them start at game 5!

That's a possible strategy, but I just don't know. I don't think you should be trying to concede any game against the Warriors, but hey, you never know, that might give us the best chance to get back into this series.

I'm that angry right now. I'm not giving up. This is a point where you realize if you're a or not. If you give up, you'll do it over and over again (even in life situations). I'm not giving up at all. Spurs need to fight for it. Keep pushing them hard and see if they will crack. Keep applying the pressure and playing all out and see if they will crack. Just keep going. Don't give up. Keep fighting.

Spurs can take one in Golden State but they have to play very well. When the Warriors went on a run after the ZaZa/Leonard injury the Spurs let their guard down and it came back to bite them. Without Leonard for game 2 it will be tough but if the Warriors go up 2-0 the Spurs have to hope Kawhi can be healthy for game 3 and win both home games and it's a new series. Though the reality is the Spurs are not a healthy basketball team at full strength right now and the Warriors are. The Spurs have accomplished a heck of a lot with Duncan retiring by making the WCF the first season with Timmy. Lots to be proud of regardless.

It`s over. Only chance was with stealing one of first two games. With KL out game 2, there is no chance to do so. Without him, we lack one defender to play against Durant/Curry.

Agreed. As much as I hate the Warriors the Spurs can't risk the next 8-10 years of Kawhi's career just to win this series. It's not worth it in the long run.
8-10 years? He has an ankle sprain, not gangrene...

It's probably over, but that's why you play the games. At the very least, I hope we injure Pachulia for the next series, tbh. And I never wish injury upon anyone. He's the exception.

Cant stand Ryan Anderson either... that he does after every made shot where he points to the sky is corny as .. i don't give a what happened in his life. Plus he just has a punchable face.

Even had the Spurs won the opening game, I still think the Warriors would have won this series.

The opening win probably would have made the series more interesting.

You think he does that when he fills his gas tank, buys groceries, checks the mail, walks his dog? It's just a show for the fans. Copycat . Everyone has a schtick.

Spurs win Game 1, then lose the next 4. That's pretty much the deal here.

No KL, no chance. LeBron must be licking his chops after watching this game, though.

Kang going B2B for the Land, folks.

Yup. Without KL, though, the end is the same. Dubs are going to the Finals.

    Go San Antonio Cavs!

I should have prefaced that in my previous post.

I still think Warriors in 5 games. I believe Kawhi will be back by game 3 and they'll manage to gain a split at home before the Warriors eliminate them a week from Wednesday.

In my Spurs homerism - Yes, I believe we have a shot and I'll be watching, cheering for them to win. In my head and realistically? no.

Kinda where I'm at. Seriously, if something crazy happened and our guys magically stole game 2 (maybe 20 pt manu performance?) my head will catch up to my black and silver heart
