Nothing credible that I've seen puts them out of Portugal at the time. The sketches were released 6 years after she was abducted which is odd as well. This brings us back to the parallel construction theory that has been floated.

It's SO stupid. Bill was already the UN special envoy to Haiti and a former US president. He's exactly the guy who would get a US citizen out of this kind of jam. Silsby had already had the most serious charges dropped because the judge determined all the children were taken by Silsby's group with their parents' consent.
