    Read the requirements. whitehouse.gov

Pretty obvious reason that there wasn't much melanin in that picture.
Your job to state why the requirements disenfranchise minorities for that job. At least two black people seemingly made the cut.

I'll reiterate the point that diversity is still not the norm, tbh... it's something we're still working towards as a society. Just not there yet. It's actually positive, IMO, that we're taking steps in that direction, because it means we recognize there's a problem.

    The concept here is "self-selection".

How many blacks or Hispanics are going to self identify with "A commitment to the mission of the Trump Administration", and apply in the first place?

I would not be surprised if the ratio of black applicants to those hired was 1:1

Hope that restatement of what I posted previously helps.

Why would you want to hire someone that doesn't have "A commitment to the mission of the Trump Administration?"

Or in the business world, a commitment to the mission of the company doing the hiring?

All this effort to push diversity should be put into shoring up the very reasons WHY (stumbling blocks) there is not diversity in the first place (in the education/employment areas - it's not just in politics but particularly in the tech field). IMO, that starts at a very young age - give (FREE to) every child (at age 2-3) some kind of device that "books on tape" or whatever new technology version of that is - can be played on and stock with age appropriate children's classics (and I don't mean the politically correct BS that's required in public schools). I'm talking about nursery rhymes, Dr. Seuss, traditional children's classics).

Continue to stock these books all the way up through middle school - Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Twilight, etc - if they won't read, play them in the car. Just listening will help with vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure/writing, etc. Stop trying to teach critical thinking to elementary kids - instead develop a love of reading/books and enjoyment. Stress reading - comic books, cereal boxes, whatever results in volume reading. Concentrate on BASIC math - addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals and percents. Do not try to dazzle PARENTS with statistics, graphs or whatever new-fangled terminology just to impress them. If you do just that in the elementary ages, you'll save millions of $ and IMO, have better educated kids - they will have the math foundation and reading skills to do ALL other subjects at a fraction of what is being spent now.

At most 89% are white, but it could be a lot lower. You can't know for sure from a picture, especially a small one like that.
    "at most"

On what do you base the determination of this percentage as an upper bound?

You wouldn't. You are 1/2 way there. You have the what, but not the why.

Now what does that mean that so few people with melanin have such a commitment?

Yeah because doing basic math will help solve diversity issues.

Yes, I did think that. Why might that be a problem in and of itself?

    Stretch yourself here.

You answered the question "what would you change in the current educational system to make it better?", which wasn't really what I asked.

I was wondering about critical thinking question based on the provided picture.

    Again:

Why might the lack of diversity in the Trump internship program be a problem in and of itself?

Does it have to do with the NBA or sprinters?

I am not looking for any specific answer, other than one which you might think a little. If critical thinking isn't your thing, that is ok. You can demur.

    "backfire"

Not even the slightest. I meant to ask critical thinking type questions, I got to ask them. Frankly, that my questions were either not understood or ignored, simply supports my thesis that modern conservatism is intellectually and morally bankrupt.

What does it mean that almost all the white house interns were white?
You are not even remotely interested in a discussion unless it's what you want to hear. Positing critical thinking questions upon suppositions is beyond asinine.

BTW, this is no surprise to anyone with a room temp IQ. Republicans have never made significant inroads with minorities. It's only been the status for the last 80 years or so.

Of course, it's important now that you're pissed beyond reason that the Dems couldn't mount an effective presidential campaign.

I've watched you raise the forcefield of derision more in the last year than the entire time I've read your posts. Frankly, it's been hard to watch. You're better than this...or you were.

    How many? 1, 2, 10, 100? It's an unquantifiable question.

Even if only 15% of Asian-Americans voted for Trump, that's still almost 2.5 million people that would match that criteria.

What are the implications, to you, of either?
Last but not least we shouldn't forget the divisive propaganda that the left pumps out that would lower the numbers of qualified applicants from seeking a position.

Seems the implication is the left is using fear mongering and bullying tactics very effectively.

Now what does that mean that so few people with melanin have such a commitment?
It means that people with melanin don't pursue careers in Law or Political Science (fields of study that are likely to apply for political internships).

    Lawyers with melanin in 2017: 4.28% (https://www.nalp.org/uploads/2017NAL...USLawFirms.pdf)

APSA Members with melanin in 2017: 3.56% (http://www.apsanet.org/Portals/54/di...-29-134427-467)

So, if half of that population is Conservative, we should expect to see 2% of Trump interns with melanin. Which is about what we see. I count 1.5/91 people with melanin.

Are you trying to say that Trump is the reason so few people with melanin pursue careers in Law or Political Science?

"left"? I let blacks handle the black-on-black questions.

Black Repugs are even more deplorable than white Repugs, because the Repug party is white male supremacist racist to its core, has been for decades, and has done nothing good for blacks, and plenty of bad.
