Yea he's just sticking up for his boy. But Simmons probably has a room-temperature IQ just above Kawhi's, tbh... both of them seem dumb as off of a basketball court.
Yup. Maybe he's talking to/about Uncle Dennis

Could you elaborate on that. Was he starting stuff with players in the sense as throwing insults at them?
That's why Kawhi should've spoken up for himself.
He didn't look like himself cause he hadn't played compe ive basketball in like 7 months or w/e. I don't think anyone expected him to be the MVP immediately
That Norman Bates reference is funny, Ill give you that.![]()
Yeah I was going to say, kind of hard to communicate when you have middlemen with self-interests speaking for you.
Just stop it.... if you think SA was rough... let's see him handle the media scrutiny in NY, LA or Chicago and he was protected. Just because some frustration got out doesn't change the fact that the Spurs could have made it a lot more uncomfortable. They gave him the necessary space to handle his business and the thanks they got is a trade request.
Furthermore, I'm not making your point. Yes, we lost a franchise player but it doesn't make the Spurs reputation look bad, which was the crux of your argument. Everyone in the league knows the situation regarding the uncle and we will see how Kawhi's career goes from here after leaving the best organization in sports.
That James Greene guy who mentioned uncle Dennis wanting a front office job is going in on J Simms and Dedmon in the replies.
Just wait until all the dirty laundry starts getting aired. You know it's going to happen. I'd put my money on Parker or Manu (if he retires) to be the first ones to spill.
I suspect there is a lot of truth in this statement. I'm trying to remember who it was, but someone put together a list of instances where the Spurs have always tried to help or accommodate players who wanted to leave. While the Spurs have admitted not handling this the best they could have- there was never any clear reason why Kawhi couldn't play last year. I got the impression the Spurs where being very generous in their comments or lack of comments until late in the season when frustration hit a maximum.
I like the description in this article

I'm slightly disappointed in what they got in return. However that was always going to be the case- That Philly wouldn't produce anything compe ive tells me they have concerns and probably more info.Code:disgruntled and vaguely hobbled star swingman Kawhi Leonard
My major disappointment is that with an engaged Leonard, I felt the Spurs had an outside chance of winning it all. In 2017 they where clearly the second best team, and had a roster that while maybe couldn't beat a healthy GSW in 7, but where closer than most think.
I no longer think that. They will win 50+ next year, but probably as constructed not a le conteneder
DeRozan will be fine in SA, he just needs time.
I guess he just hate this trade because what Raptors told him but also because he doesn't want to play in the West where all great guards and it would be hard for him to compete with them for ASG/All NBA teams spots, in the East he didn't have those issues.
Kawhi looked fine to me the last two games he played with the Spurs. He actually looked like he was back in superstar form and then suddenly he decided not to play for the rest of the year.
And J Simmons should stfu. His ass wouldn't even be in the NBA had patfo not given him a chance.
Sorry, I should change that. I hope he blows out his quad after signing with the Lakers after the playoffs.
Can expect some rust in game 1-4, not 8-9.
But if you think the Spurs and other teams weren't worried about his health this offseason...I can't help.
DeRozan
"value"
I have no doubt he's fully healthy
The whole 'didn't look like himself' narrative is bogus to me.
He missed all of camp and was heavy and out of shape, yet STILL led the Spurs in PER as the most efficient player AND in his last 3 games he had 4 steals in each game
He looked like he hadn't played in a while and was out of game shape, that's all. He was fine and will be a top 3 player when he plays hard
"exiled to another country"

I didn't said "Spurs' reputation", that was part of Bill's post. I said every team looks bad when they can't keep their franchise player.
Like it or not, Robz....Derozan is the only wing with any value on the team![]()
SAS acting all tough but he’ll be kissing Leonard’s ass if he goes to the Lakers next year.
when is pop press conference?
leonard has 48 hours to show up to pass his physically unless raptors waive that
Dang. long time LA media and Lakers supporter, going in pretty hard. Spurs took a hit but Kawhi's camp is taking a punishing. Feel bad for most the ignorant parties. Someone in the agency and/or his group was not ignorant and well. Hope they learned their lesson and truly do what is best for Kawhi and not for their pocket books.
