In movies, and books, and comic-books, and any fictional form of entertainment, a purple coloured skin is just as normal as black and white. Fans don't care if purple isn't a real life skin colour, they want Thanos to be purple (or pink, or blueish, or something similar to that) because that's how the character was represented throughout his entire existence. The same thing happens on this case, some lifelong James Bond's fans might prefer for that character to be white because that's how he was represented since he was invented; and these fans should be allowed to express this feeling without having dumb s jumping out and calling them racists.
