Thought I'd start a thread where people could post specifically about fantasy advice (start/sit, trades, etc...).

I'm in a full point PPR league (all TD's 6 points) and due to injuries (Dez, Jordy, ASJ) I've had to scramble and make a ton of trades to try and salvage things early. Because of that I have more "depth" than "top talent" so my flex/wr 2/3 decisions are tougher each week so far.

Need a flex out of these options: Lamar Miller, CJ Spiller, Vincent Jackson, Mike Wallace or Fleener. Honestly, right now I am leaning Fleener.

So with my injuries to Dez, Jordy & ASJ here's what I did to try and keep my team afloat and get some upside/top talent back:

Traded Dez, Eifert & Hillman for Jeremy Hill, James Jones, Vincent Jackson & Mart Bryant
o Logic: Had already lost Jordy and then possilbity of Dez for 6+ weeks. In order to get a top 15 draft pick in value for Dez (Hill) I had to give up Eifert. But I also had ASJ & Vernon Davis who looked solid. So I thought it was worth it. Got me a talented player for close to Dez's value (even if healthy) and some depth at WR which I needed with no Jordy/Dez.

Traded: Emmanuel Sanders, Matt Ryan & Doug Martin for Luck
o Logic: I needed to swing for the fences with talent and Luck had the biggest upside for big games. I went really strong WR during draft (Dez, Jordy then Sanders) in a full PPR league, but had to adapt with injuries. Plus, Sanders worried me with how Manning looked. With getting Luck had no need for Ryan so throwing him in made no difference to me. Fucntionally it was Sanders/Martin for Luck which is fair and I got what hopefully is the best player.

Traded: Mart Bryant/Lance Dunbar for Lamar Miller
o Logic: Wanted to have a really strong stable at 2 positions and with Luck and RBs of: Jeremy Hill, Latavius Murray, Lamar Miller, CJ Spiller & Blount I should have that. Plus Bryant wasn't helping me for 2 more weeks anyways.

    So my initial team:

    QB: Matt Ryan
WR: Dez, Jordy, Sanders, John Brown & Mike Wallace
RB: Latavius, Spiller, Doug Martin, Blount & Hillman
TE: Eifert, ASJ & Vernon Davis

    Team after trades/losing Dez/Jordy/ASJ

    QB: Luck
WR: James Jones, Vincent Jackson, John Brown, Mike Wallace & Brandon Coleman
RB: Jeremy Hill, Latavius Murray, Lamar Miller, CJ Spiller & Blount
TE: Vernon Davis, Jared Cook & Coby Fleener
    K: Bailey
    DEF: DEN

Obviously need some help at WR, but after all the injuries in a 12 team league? I think I did ok and at least have guys with top flight upside (Luck, Hill, Miller) if they start to play closer to their draft spot.

    That's 2 weeks in

It's prob fair but I would not. With how CJ looks you need to keep the good RB options. Gurley is a risk but obviously has big upside. Evans hasn't shown much yet this year.

Wouldn't be a bad trade at all and Evans should be good but I think it's ok to wait and see what you have in Gurley

Still deciding whether to play Ebron or Graham at TE this week. I am playing the first place team in my league who so far hasn't had issues scoring points.

Have to go Jimmy. They will get him more involved - they have too. Plus he was very loudly complaining which normally results in targets.

Yeah, at some point the Seahawks have to realize they have one of the best TEs in the league??? My rationale for playing Ebron is that the Lions (as long as Stafford plays) will have to throw the ball all game long to try and stay with the Broncos. Seahawks on the other hand are playing the Bears and might control the game through running game and defense that they won't have to throw the ball.

Luckily both play during 2nd half of Sunday so I still have time.

My team hasn't scored any points in the 2nd half, lol

  12. #12
    not even .1 pts

  13. #13
lol this is just hilarious, I know I only have 3 players playing right now but entered the 2nd half at 38.30 pts, still at that total...

Jeremy Hill continued his bust streak. I got lit up by Julio & Olsen.

I have Vincent Jackson in two leagues and he is a scrub. I'd do that trade in a heartbeat while Jeffrey is hurt and the value is low. You're not losing much by taking the risk.

Really? The Bears are a mess, Cutler sucks, he's been injured all year and keeps re-aggravating it. Blount is in the best offense in the league, Dion fumble Lewis isn't that talented (IMO) and he will get all the goaline work. Vincent Jackson has put 1000 yards in like 4 straight years, including last year with a garbage QB.

I get people love name value, but Vincent is not a scrub and has a better QB this year and has been a model of consistency. I don't think it's that easy but not surprised some of yall do with the names associated. Blount/VJ seem to be universally hated by most people for some reason.

In a 12 team league? VJ has been a top 25 WR like 4 years in a row (even last year with a garbage QB). He's not Julio but not some scrub. Blount was very solid last year for NE and they lost Ridley, Vereen & Jonas Gray. Sure Dion looks good, but he's not a goal line back and Blount should still be in a decent spot IMO.

0-3 in this league, trying to turn it around. Been trying to make some moves, but my main problem is I always seem to bench the wrong people (srs could be 3-0 easily)

1-2 in this league and not looking good with Big Ben out. Carr has been pretty good, I'm hoping he keeps it up. WHat moves should I make or changes in the lineup?

James Jones, easily. Even with Luck Jones is probably the better play, without Luck it's not even close.

Definitely Jones. Of course Mon can still have a big game but Jones has been better all year, a better QB and a great match up
