Talent and star power is not the same.. WWE has amassed basically the majority of the top talent IN THE WORLD over the last few years, with plenty of call ups waiting in NXT, and the Cruiserweight division for Raw.. Smart booking is key.

Wait 'til Shinsuke hits the main roster the night after WM.. People are gonna shit themselves, he's gonna blow up and go straight to the top like Enzo and Cass.

A few thoughts:

Jesus Christ, Mick Foley, for as much as I loved him from his King of the Deathmatch through Attitude Era days has REALLY gotta go. He's terrible on the mic, and seems so awkward now. His introduction during the Cruiserweight match was cringe worthy, and he routinely fucks up his lines now. Such a shitty choice for GM.

Not getting Kota Ibushi signed was a big mistake for WWE. The artist formerly known as Manik is the winner of the CWC? Garbage. To make matters worse, WWE falling back on their familiarity security blanket opting to push sorry ass Brian Kendrick instead of building up someone else is typical. Overall, great showing from Alexander, Metalik, and Swann however. Especially impressed w/ Alexander, he was not this good in RoH.

LOL at your Undertaker reference. Taker NEVER put the company on his back. Not once. And he never was a draw until he became a once-a-year guy working only Manias, and even if you had no Taker match at Mania, Mania DRAWS ITSELF. You know why they made him a once-a-year guy to get him to draw? It's the same reason Andre, Bruiser Brody and Abdullah never stayed in a territory for very long- the novelty wears off. That is why the character has been reinvented multiple times over and he is dusted off only for a novelty Mania match. People want to see that kind of thing, but not every day, not where it can draw week in, week out. Fact.

He didn't have a SINGLE good match until he started working smaller guys. Guys who actually put the company on their back- little guys like Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart and, the biggest draw in wrestling history, not even debatable- Steve fucking Austin. So let's see here genius:

Austin- Biggest draw of all times. Sellouts, revenues, ratings. Hogan isn't even close and that's from Vince's mouth direct.
HBK- Eventhough Undertaker was a novelty match at Wrestlemania, this dude is Mr. Wrestlemania...why? Because PEOPLE LIKE WATCHING GOOD MATCHES. And let us not forget, 3 of Takers 10 greatest matches come against this man. Why? Because people LIKE WATCHING GOOD MATCHES.
Bret- Carried the company post-Hogan and even beat out another meathead for that spot in Lex Luger. Know why? Because MEATHEADS are boring and DON'T DRAW.

And then post-WCW, when the company had a monopoly, the WWE basically became the name and draw for the company. Only legit draws the company has had post-attitude era are Cena, Mysterio and Jeff Hardy. Plenty of stars- HHH, Batitsta, Edge, Angle, et. al, but no bonafide draws the way those did. Hardy was huge with the teens and Mysterio with the latinos. Mysterio even moved more merchandise than Cena did multiple times, same with Hardy. And those dudes are what again???


And regarding ratings...they are still important. But again. showing how out of touch with the time you are, this is THE STREAMING AGE. And ratings dont take into account people who DVR the show. And here's where you're really ignorant...the company is completely healthy financially. They are profitable in EVERY sector of their business and they make LOADS AND LOADS of money GLOBALLY. Raw feels extreme repetitive right now.
Overall SD feels way more complete, with solid booking decitions. I like The New Day, but The Club will die if treated like this.

Overall SD feels like the better show, which may be because of the one hour less to fill, but also can be attributed to taking more risks, while Raw is overprotecting it's Superstars. SD just is more well rounded und feels new, while Raw is doing/returning the corporation stuff and so on.
Right now, Raw needs to deliver something special to win it's week. I think they won it's five weeks with Sasha winning the Chip, Owens doing so too, Sasha again, Cruisers debuting and Goldberg...and even some of those where close.

Ring of Honor was pretty fun, never sat front row for one of their shows.. It was just a VOD event, so not all of their top talent was available.. The show setup was shit compared to previous events though, shit they even brought the little crappy tore up gym mats.. The Rumble was booked fine when I thought about it after feeling kinda flat while watching it.It kept everyone strong who needed to stay strong like Stroman and Big Showand setup multiple feuds and storylines. Kinda didn't dig the Goldberg/Lesnar thing but I sure the fuck laughed. I hate Brock like XPac heat hate and think he's a waste of money and space. Dude has had the same exact match everytime since he squashed Cena and the company can't put anyone against him that looks legit that he hasn't already faced. If Paul Heyman wasn't the awesome that he is, there'd be zero appeal in Lesnar to me.

Not keen on an Orton win at all, but I'm seeing his match being the B title match, like how they had before the elimination of the Big Gold WHC.He's not headlining and since there weren't any other real options to go with, it's on par with all the other disappointing Rumble outcomes of the last decade like Sheamus, Del Rio, Batista and Reigns. Aside from Reigns, none of those disappointing winners headlined Mania in one on one main events. Del Rio And Sheamus were in complete throw away matches and Bootista happened and dude got pushed down to a triple threat.

I'll take Randy vs Wyatt for the belt in the midcard. It will be a solid match. Goldberg/Lesnar is closing the show from what Meltz is saying, which is a fucking awful idea since they're gonna put Brock over huge and heels closing out Manias almost always bomb, part time heels closing Mania out would be a travesty. Let alone a Mania main event should go at least twenty minutes, I cant see them going 15 minutes without being booed out the building again. AJ got a good match out of Shane, which surprised the hell out of me.

Owens vs. Jericho was cool and served it's purpose.

Hardy's return was the best moment of the night, easily.

Reigns/Taker and Orton/Bray weren't bad matches, it was just flat and the crowd was tired from such a long, laborious show.

Sad to see Taker go. As soon as I heard JR's music, I knew it was going to be his last match. The place on the card, the result and the sendoff were right, it was just the wrong person who got the opportunity. 2 Manias in a row with apathetic finishes from the crowd, like a Triple H match closing a Mania (Jericho, Orton and last year). They really have screwed the pooch with Roman and should have turned him heel last year to get him over as a face against Lesnar next year.

Goldberg/Lesnar was short and sweet and ends the stupidity of another 50 year old who couldn't be trusted to WALK to the ring to get the belt off him.

Sucks they are going to build to a Lesnar/Reigns rematch no one wants to see. Hopefully Lesnar doesn't bogart the belt and stay off tv for months at a time while champ, a 3 hour Raw show needs the belt to be visible and involved in storylines.
