rape...usa vs serbia again

Serbia's defense in the 1st half was spectacular.

If you have a fetish for great defense, give it a watch.

Spain obviously needed Gasol and Ibaka for the simple fact that they're two of their best players, but Marc would have been a terrible fit alongside Pau defensively (Anthony would have lit Pau up like he did Baynes and both Gasol's can only drop back against the pick-and-roll), Ibaka doesn't have the chops to punish Anthony/Durant in the post and they're both sub par rebounders.

Spain has always lacked a go-to perimeter player and overall athleticism, but their biggest problem is the same as it's always been and the same as the rest of the World: They're equipped with guards and bigs, but not big, athletic, versatile wings. In fact, they don't have a single player capable of physically guarding the likes of Durant, Anthony, George and had either been on the team, James and Leonard.

To say the truth even when serbia defended well Aus missed a huge HUGE ammount of open 3īs.

Nobody on Team USA could guard Fat Gasol & only foul troubles stopped him when he was trying to guard Durant.:lol Today, Spain was guarding Melo w/ fuckin' Reyes/Mirotic who aren't better defenders than DPOY Gasol & Team USA wasn't running any PnRs w/ Melo. Worst come worst, put Ibaka on Melo & bring Fat Gasol off the bench when Pau is resting. Melo killed Baynes when he was daring him to shoot as if he was 2016 Finals Harrison Barnes.:lol

Like I said, obviously they needed them because they're two of their best players, but I don't buy that adding both swings the game, as they wouldn't solve their main issues.

:lol At thinking M. Gasol is a better option to defend Anthony than Mirotic or even Reyes because in a vacuum he's a better defender.

The usual lack of reading comprehension. No go to perimeter player, at least of the caliber to pull this off. The idea that P. Gasol, especially at 36, with a calf injury, was going to single handedly out star a collection of some of the best isolation players in the world (whether it be '08, '12 or '16), is asinine. And I'm not sure what you were watching, but Jordan clearly gave him problems.

They lost the game b/c they got pounded on the offensive boards, I wonder who could have helped them out in that department?:rolleyes

Dumbass, I said Reyes/Mirotic aren't better options than DPOY Marc Gasol. Last I check Carmelo wasn't exactly lighting up either one.:sleep

Carmelo at his PEAK has been ass against Spain b/c he can't guard either Pau/Marc & he is now washed up to the point he struggled against Reyes.:lol

Dumbass, Pau was having issues on defense where they missed Ibaka/Marc otherwise he was the best offensive player on either team (Klay had his usual 5 minute outburst & disappeared). DeAndre was bothering the guards when they penetrated & dominating the defensive glass.

A guy who scored 17 points in 17 minutes against Team USA (Marc) & an athletic defensive monster (Ibaka) wouldn't have made a difference when Spain lost the game in the paint b/c Reyes isn't a significant dropoff.:lol

Spain had two starters go scoreless for 3 quarters (Rubio/Mirotic) & it was still a single digit game, '16 Cream Team::lmao

M. Gasol and Ibaka are poor defensive rebounders and presuming the game would have played out in the exact same manner with them is nonsense.

No, you said they weren't better defenders, dumbass. It was a stupid blanket statement.

Anthony has a better chance to defend the vastly overrated M. Gasol (with help, of course) than the other way around.

P. Gasol was fine, but again, he's not sufficient enough star power to take down any version of the U.S. They've always needed a perimeter player at least on his level to have a real chance.

Kawhi is an underrated playmaker. It's just Manu and Tony and West aren't gonna space the floor for him. It's why Lebron always has a lot of shooters around him. Kawhi is lacking in that department(teammates lack spacing). That's why Patty Mills fits like a glove when playing alongside Manu or Kawhi.

And FYI guys. i reply to questions that are posed for other people lots of times.

The USA isn't going to know what hit them. This Australia squad that got whipped by Serbia is giving Spain all they can handle, and the USA could barely beat Spain, even though Spain didn't play well. Serbia is going to whoop dat ass in a few hours.

Serbia, the successor state of Serbia and Montenegro and FR Yugoslavia, is the most decorated Olympic basketball team of all time behind only the USA and Russia/USSR (and the only team to win a gold aside from Russia/USSR, USA, and Argentina), and are going to show why Eastern European basketball is rising again.

Of course, Yugoslavia's gold medal in the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow didn't have USA participation due to the boycott, but still. :downspin: 1980 was the first time the USA did not win the gold medal in men's basketball. Yugoslavia would continue it's great run in the '80s with a silver in the '84 games, silver in the '88 games (behind gold medal-winning USSR), and also a silver in '96 on American soil.

Too bad the refs fucked up the final play to favor Spain, that was a no call, Patty doesnīt initiate contact is not in the restricted zone. The offensive players gets on him, and while he is moving so itīs not a offensive foul, it is also not a defensive fouls as he is not in the restricted area and cleary avoids contact as much as possible.

FIBA and NBA both, need to apply either automatic review and confirmation for all dubious calls in the last 2 minutes and or the chance for teams to challenge calls as itīs done in hockey.
Games are being decided in the last minutes and with the continue advance of technology itīs becoming more evident that the refs are having more influence on the outcome than what they really should.
You cannot have a sport, scrutinised with the newest of technologies and yet maintain a calling system that uses 1920 technology. Even the video ref used in the NBA is still not enough as only if the ref want they review and only for reviews that donīt really matter.

I absolutely agree 100% with this. I have no idea why they continue to give referees that much power to decide games when the technology is there the help get it right.

M. Gasol and Ibaka are poor defensive rebounders and presuming the game would have played out in the exact same manner with them is nonsense.

Yeah rebounding encompasses of simply grabbing boards like Rondo rather than boxing out which is what Marc Gasol does better than Mirotic who was getting pushed under the rim by Carmelo. Ibaka presence would have meant Lowry wouldn't have been driving to the rim without any regard for who was protecting the rim when Pau was out of the game.

No, you said they weren't better defenders, dumbass. It was a stupid blanket statement.

Big Dummy, they AREN'T better DEFENSIVE options than Marc Gasol. Mirotic is a horrific defender who couldn't stay on the floor & Reyes is a fuckin' 36 year old backup PF who is slow as molasses. It's not like Marc hasn't played against Team USA when they had BETTER players like PEAK LeBron/CP3 who pick apart mismatches better than tunnel vision Melo/Kyrie/Dominos/Klay.:lol

Reyes did nothing in 2012 besides getting abused by Kevin Love.:lol

Anthony has a better chance to defend the vastly overrated M. Gasol (with help, of course) than the other way around.

Yeah, that explains why he got BENCHED for Kevin Love in 2012 & couldn't score on wack ass Reyes/Mirotic.:lol

P. Gasol was fine, but again, he's not sufficient enough star power to take down any version of the U.S. They've always needed a perimeter player at least on his level to have a real chance.

Yeah, Team USA's bench didn't get outplayed even w/ Mirotic starting & Marc/Pau/Ibaka wouldn't have outplayed DeAndre/Cousins/Melo. Team USA got bailed out by offensive rebounds & Klay having a 5 minute outbrust to keep Spain at bay in the 2nd quarter.

Spain lost in '08/'12 b/c they got outscored from 3 which wasn't the case this time b/c Team USA is pretty mediocre: Butler/Melo not being able to score on Navarro/Mirotic say it all.:lol

Thanks for the update. That sucks. I could tell it had something to do with Patty and maybe Pau. Cheers. Pau definitely deflected the ball on the last play. Patty was called for a blocking/ charging foul on the previous play which is what everyone is talking about. Baynes made a killer shot over Pau for the lead 9.7 seconds to go. Then the blocking call on Patty.

The USA isn't going to know what hit them. This Australia squad that got whipped by Serbia is giving Spain all they can handle, and the USA could barely beat Spain, even though Spain didn't play well. Serbia is going to whoop dat ass in a few hours.

Serbia can outscore Team USA from 3 if Teodosic is on his game.

Of the 241 players that played at least 1200 minutes last season, Parker was 87th in usage.

http://bkref.com/tiny/t9omY

How is that star level? And if the Spurs won 67 in the regular season and were so close to beating a pretty good Thunder team even with a hobbled Duncan, how does Parker "require a really high usage rate?"

I expect Parker to have an even lower usage rate this season because Pau can actually score, unlike hobbled Duncan.
