Just remember. Rosenstein said in the past DOJ said a sitting President couldn't be indicted, but in his words "don't draw any inference from that as it pertains to current matters" . Indictments come first. If congress refuses to act, SCOTUS may get involved. Again, this is without precedent.

Other prosecutors, state or federal, are not similarly restricted. The issue will almost certainly end up at SCOTUS.

Given the overall level of sloppy shadiness of the Trump Organization, it seems likely that a competent investigation will uncover whatever illegalities have taken place, including money laundering.

He's not under any obligation to do so. In fact, it might even hurt the investigation in the long run by throwing that out to the public. What if Trump does become the target later? It would be an embarrassment to the FBI and Trump himself.

I could see it happening if he fires Mueller, since that would madly drive Democratic turnout in the midterms. The GOP has to defend the fat piece of shit in public right now, but after primaries are over and they won't be dealing with Trumptard challengers from the right they could decide they're better off taking a little wind out of the sails of the Democrats leading up to the midterms while also getting the conservative they really want in the oval office.
