PG13 and Melo are losers. Always have been, always will be. They were never going to have a "rhythm." Even if Russ spent all game deferring to them, it just would have meant more bricks and more turnovers from those two in a blowout loss. And then the narrative would be that "Westbrook choked."

I hate Russ as much as anyone else here but c'mon boys, this loss(Game 5 only not the series) is not on him. Yeah he took a fuck ton of shots but it was pretty fucking obvious in the 3rd Q that Playoff P's balls had rescinded and he was gonna be no help whatsoever and Melo hasn't been a net positive for a while now so there was no reason to look for anything there either. Russ really had no choice other than putting up 50 fucking shots this game, and he single handedly kept them in it.
That being said, you are never going beyond first round with Russ as your option 1. His game simply ain't about dat life. By now it's pretty obvious that he is not changing his ways and I'm not sure is a coach out there that can make him do so. He'll continue rewarding fantasy GM's for next 2-3 years but the Thunder are stuck with being 1 and done until they move past Russ, tbh.

This is a low tier "star" if you can call him that in Oladipo and a bunch of role-players taking Lebron with HCA to 7 in the 1st round. It shouldn't be this close.
Always funny hearing a laker fan say this. As if any laker ever did anything other than having the league help them get great players and having the opposition killed/kicked out of the league and games rigged.

Yeah. Veteran leadership. Robinson was down then. Was he still good? Sure. He was 94 Thorpe level good. But he nowhere near a superstar or Even an all star at that point.
People look at that roster and thought they were all in their prime, which is retarded. That’s like saying Hakeem had mvp runner up level 92 Clyde next to him or dirk had runner up level 02 kidd next to him.

Yeah. If 03 Robinson was the best player on a team I’m sure that team would have made the playoffs.
21 ppg, 7 rebs 4 assts and 2 stops and he was just effective. Did you know Clyde led that team in ws/48 and bpm? He also led the rockets in ws and bpm in the playoffs.
Not to mention Horry, elie, cassell and smith were killing it in all year. Nailing clutch shot after clutch shot.
All the while robinson who averaged 8/8 and 2 blks provided veteran leadership. And the team is loaded when duncan has almost the same ws of the next three spurs with the highest win shares combined. And bpm the next four. Duncan not only led the spurs in every advanced stats in the regular season and playoffs, he often doubles the runner up spurs in those categories.

You want to call 2003 Robinson on his last legs putting up 8.5 ppg and 7.9 reb a star? Rookie Ginobili and his 7.6 ppg? The closest thing to a second star Duncan had on that team was 20 year old Parker and his 15.5 ppg and 5.3 apg. The top 3 scorers on the team after Duncan were Parker, Stephen Jackson, and Malik Rose. Damn what a stacked cast. 1994 Thorpe put up 14.0 ppg and 10.6 rpg, I'd take him over 03 Parker. 1994 Maxwell + Smith was probably a wash with 03 Jackson + Rose, especially with that close three point line. LOL at calling 32 year old Drexler putting up 21 ppg on 50.6% shooting over the hill and then act like 37 year old Robinson was still a star.

Duncan had nothing but role players in '03. Manu and Parker were not star players yet. Hakeem had 4 other player playing along side him during that '94 playoff run that averaged double digits for scoring while Duncan in '03 only had two other player playing with him that averaged double digits which was Parker and Jackson. Parker average 14 a game in the playoffs on 40 percent shooting and Jax averaged 12 a game on 41 percent shooting. That's not what I call great help on the offensive end.

94 was the year to argue. I don’t understand why you kept going to 95. Clyde was clearly better than anyone duncan had in 03. And if you want to argue, state for case for Pete’s sake.
Thorpe was really good in 94. People forgot that Thorpe was an all star a couple of years before that and while he wasn’t scoring as much as his all star season, his rebounding was there and he was a major threat.
The rockets were also establishing records shooting threes those years. They really revolutionized the nba offence using hk the three. The league didn’t know how to deal with it back then.

Let's just act like 11 points in 20 mins is the norm for him. Anybody with half decent passing can look like a magician with three elite shooters to pass to.
He's that loudmouth that gets weak minded people to think he's better than he is because of his big mouth. That's why beta Durant vows to him like he's his dad even though he has more talent in his pinky toe than Donkey has.

Arguably the greatest scorer of all-time. If he wasn't such a beta he would've taken GS down eventually(hes that good), whether it be with OKC or another up and coming team. Takes a lot of betaness to be that good and still want the easy way out, tbh.

Winning a title doesn't always determine being an Hofer. Shaq was dominant his first 4 years in the league. He won a scoring title, made all-nba teams, along with leading his team to a finals appearance and 3 conference finals. I hated Shaq as a kid but even I knew at a young age he was going to be a HOFer unless he got hurt. If a player is dominant in his first 3-4 years in the league he's pretty much guaranteed to be an HOFer unless injuries derails his career.

For the Rockets to win Harden and Chris Paul is going to have to play the best series of their life. I feel Harden is going to have an '03 Duncan-Laker moment where he is the best player on the court for that series. I'm not sure if Harden can be better than Curry or Durant for a 7 game series.

I'm pretty much done with watching the Warriors outside of the WCF and did not watch the game tonight. Only reason I will watch the WCF is because I hate both the Rockets-Warriors so for me that series is a win win regardless of who wins. Anyways Warriors to me are boring as fuck to watch. It's the same story every game which is the game will be close for a few minutes then they will hit a few 3's go on a blistering run and it's over within 5 minutes. Also Draymond gets away with fouling and grabbing every game which is not fun to watch. With what he's allowed to get away with the refs on the defensive end only an all-time great like Duncan could wreck him.
I'm not a Trump supporter but the Warriors definitely live up to Trump's phrase which is "We are going to win so much that you are going to get bored of winning."

Stop it, the Warriors were winning at a .700 clip before their injuries set in and they decided to shut it down until the postseason because they knew they couldn't catch the Rockets.
