same with mail in ballots, which were always going to be heavy blue (outside of AZ). a random sample of 100 mail in ballots is not going to be comparable to a random sample of 100 in person ballots. pretending that its an anomaly when the mailed ballots skew blew is just shoddy reasoning

Before the election he at least gave lip service to the idea that he was addressing COVID. His entire motivation for doing anything was how does this help me when the election? (Which would have been fine if he had at least been competent. I really don't care about motivation, I care about results.)

Now that there's no election for him to win, he's entirely focused on fundraising and duping his cult into thinking he has a shot at reversing the results of the election. Nominating a Supreme Court Justice during a lame duck session wouldn't help that cause, so I don't see why he would do it.

but that only amounted to about 10k votes, so even that isn't going to swing anything. and that assuming SCOTUS throws it out. its conceivable they slap down the law prospectively, but still keep the votes in the count... there is precedent to that effect, that you dont punish voters for following guidelines that were given to them. or if they just call it moot because the 10k votes cant change the results.

the other PA case more broadly attacking the no-excuse mail in ballots (the one SCOTUS denied today) was an easy call on laches... but they had timely raised the post-election day ballot issue, so that one will probably actually be heard on the merits

I’m more concerned with how lax campaign finance regulation is going to be with the FEC stacked with commissioners who believe it should be completely unregulated.

Fun fact about campaign finance btw - Sarah Gideon ended her campaign with $15 million left in the bank. This election proved that there are limits to how much fundraising really matters. In a small state senate race like that, Gideon simply raised more than she knew what to do with.
