I don't personally agree with using nukes, but I can understand why other people feel otherwise.
Not if you are doing six to eight years in college.
I don't personally agree with using nukes, but I can understand why other people feel otherwise.
I missed the pre-invasion public referendum election.
except I'm not doing 6-8 years of college. You're not very good at this.
There were scores of innocents killed in both. It's a valid comparison, if all you're worried about is innocent people. You stated you didn't care about innocents in that situation.
Yeah. One country attacked America on American soil multiple times and had global military ambitions and capabilities. The other was a poor country with a depleted military that didn't have anything close to the ability to attack America.
What a perfectly valid comparison!
I also stated the innocent Japanese were killed because it saved American lives. Getting Japan to surrender via an actual invasion of Japan woulda been incredibly difficult and costly without dropping those bombs. Innocent eople dying was inevitable, unlike the War in Iraq. If you really can't see the difference you're a lot dumber than I thought.
I'm going to pull a Chump here.
Did innocents die in both wars? Please answer yes or no.
Yes.
Was innocent people dying absolutely necessary in both wars? Answer yes or no.
Lol at the fourth largest army in the world being called depleted. Yeah i guess Russia is a poor country with a depleted military too huh?
North Korea?
saying Iraq had the 4th largest military when we invaded
lol Iraq having the 4th largest military but putting up no fight whatsoever
US
China
Russia
Great Britain
Israel
According to you, Iraq had a stronger military than at least two of these countries, which two?
It's incredible the things that come out of an alleged college student.
Not that you asked me, but it doesn't bother me at all. You've already proven your opinion is based on youtube clips and almost no exposure to actual service members. There are plenty of educated people that form opinions from a point of ignorance.
lol who said stronger? DO you even know the size of the American military? lol ignorance is bliss i guess.
Almost as incredible as someone stupid enough to think Iraq had the 4th most powerful military in the world prior to the US invasion
Very well put.![]()
So Iraq didn't have a strong military at all. Glad we could clear that up.
Compared to its power at the height of the Iraq/Iran war or pre Desert Storm, I would characterize the Iraqi armed forces as depleted.
who said powerful?
You implied they weren't depleted. Having strength in numbers doesn't mean they aren't depleted. China's military had strength in numbers during WWII but they were plenty depleted after being attacked by Japan.
No to both. (Of course, innocent people die in every war. But I'll assume you meant, "Could we have decided to NOT use nukes" which is yes at the cost of more American lives, and you also meant, "Was it necessary to invade Iraq", which I believe is a big fat no.)
So you're saying the US had a way of getting Japan to surrender with minimal/no innocent lives lost. Elaborate.
