Yeah. One country attacked America on American soil multiple times and had global military ambitions and capabilities. The other was a poor country with a depleted military that didn't have anything close to the ability to attack America.

I also stated the innocent Japanese were killed because it saved American lives. Getting Japan to surrender via an actual invasion of Japan woulda been incredibly difficult and costly without dropping those bombs. Innocent eople dying was inevitable, unlike the War in Iraq. If you really can't see the difference you're a lot dumber than I thought.

Compared to its power at the height of the Iraq/Iran war or pre Desert Storm, I would characterize the Iraqi armed forces as depleted.

You implied they weren't depleted. Having strength in numbers doesn't mean they aren't depleted. China's military had strength in numbers during WWII but they were plenty depleted after being attacked by Japan.
No to both. (Of course, innocent people die in every war. But I'll assume you meant, "Could we have decided to NOT use nukes" which is yes at the cost of more American lives, and you also meant, "Was it necessary to invade Iraq", which I believe is a big fat no.)
