Not far enough to give an opinion, and i never played the OG, but its basically another souls game to me so in that respect it's worth it. from what i understand it is a fairly faithful remake of the original, so i don't think it's much different. if you played in on PS3 and were satisfied with beating it i wouldnt imagine you'd wanna do it again unless you were really into the story of it

PSN Network is all out of wack for me. Shows some updated games and trophies and some not. Here for example it shows Ghost of Tsushima as if I haven't even beat it. I still haven't been able to sync them yet. First PS5 game plat is in the books though. :tu

Speaking of Control, kind of disappointed how low of settings they went on the 60 fps mode just to get 1440p resolution. Decided against getting Plus since I saw I could play the 60 fps mode settings on my 1660 Super easily at 1080p, and I'm running both PC and PS5 on 1080p screens right now anyways.

Yeah Zero Dawn is a game I’ve been looking to play for a long time just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I’ve moved away from the grindier games and focused more on straight forward goals and games.

The platinum is a bastard on regular Persona 5. Read every book, beat every Famicom game, catch every fish, etc. Took me three playthroughs to get it. Strangely enough the plat is pretty easy on Persona 5 Royal, I got it on my first playthrough.

Playstation is already on the outs in Japan. If you look at weekly game sales there they are completely dominated by the Switch. It reminds me of NES vs Master System vs Atari 7800 in the US back in the 80s. Here's the last full Famitsu weekly sales chart, from March 22nd through March 28th, where Sony has two games in the top 30 while Nintendo has 28. And those two games are multiplats that sold better on Switch.

But later in the gen XBox is going to come hard with Elder Scrolls, Hellblade 2, hopefully a new good Bethesda non-76 Fallout game, the Doom series, Starfield, Dishonored series, plus maybe another Fallout from Obsidian. I can really see Jim Ryan neutering the second half of the PS5 gen the same way Don Mattrick did to the 360. In Ryan's case it would be ceding the Japanese market to Nintendo despite Japanese games being a big reason why PS4 sold so well, while with Mattrick it was abandoning the hardcore gamer audience that loved the 360 the first half of that gen and instead chasing casuals who wanted a Netflix box. Another thing that makes me really leery of Jim Ryan is that fucking moron Michael Pachter loves him.

Sony's biggest hits last gen were all base out of the US. God of War, Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider man.

Yeah I'm not sure what to make of the TLoU news, except that maybe Sony is just going for some low hanging fruit to get more hits on the PS5. They'll probably package it together with TLoU2. As far as I know, they've not released a PS5 upgrade patch for the sequel yet, maybe this is why.

I just don't see what they're going to improve though. They're going to film more scenes and add more locations that completely fuck up the pacing. Then they'll have to refilm all of the older scenes because they didn't capture facial movements at the time, and the stellar original performances will be fucked. People are pretty passionate about that game (myself included), and I just can't see how this is a good idea. Release a PS5 patch for the sequel, package it with TLoU and Left Behind remaster, and call it a day.

I look at it as renting with the idea that I'll always hack my console at the end of the generation. Eg I hacked my Vita, PS2, and PS3 and would have hacked my PS4 had I not sold it. At least for Sony consoles since game prices are reasonable. Nintendo shit I'll hack the second a hack is released since all good Nintendo games basically stay full price forever.

Don't have it and haven't tried it, sorry. I'm a big fan of Bose in general, that's what I normally use (I have two QC35s, one for home, one for travel). I also have an old Sol Republic wired headphone which has always been really good and are easy to fix up since all parts are replaceable.

Sony headsets are really good when you go to the high end, but not sure where that 3D Pulse sits.

If you ever do, any PS3 can run homebrew now. Or if you have a Fat or CEHC-20xx or CECH-21xx Slim, you can put full custom firmware on.

See that fucks you on disc games as well as digital though on PS4. It wouldn't be hard to swap out the batteries though and at least by the time those batteries start dying off you'll probably be able to use a homebrew enabler (eg hack the system) to fix the system clock. I would say to set your PS4 to never connect to PSN and never check for updates, never install updates though.

Though I always laugh at people who think their disc versions of games are superior because digital stores can be taken down. Because once you can't download your digital games anymore (which is probably still 3-5 years away on PS3) you wouldn't be able to download updates either. And no one wants to play the broken versions of games on the disc. Imagine playing the disc version of Bloodborne or even worse Cyberpunk. You only really preserve your game physically if it's one of the rare complete editions with everything on disc since those are usually patched to good versions by the time they release.

But ever since the 360 / PS3 / Wii generation, piracy is the only way to have the games in perpetuity.

New PS5 firmware dropping tomorrow will allow you to download PS5 games to an external drive and then transfer them to the SSD later. About fucking time, XBox Series has had this since Day 1. Good, now I have no reason to buy a secondary NVME drive for the system.

New PS5 firmware dropping tomorrow will allow you to download PS5 games to an external drive and then transfer them to the SSD later. About fucking time, XBox Series has had this since Day 1. Good, now I have no reason to buy a secondary NVME drive for the system.

Haven't even looked at a 2nd drive for the PS5 but the PS4 has one. It's a pain in the ass to use, since you have to detach it in software before powering down else you have to repair it each time you boot up. Makes sense from a thumb drive perspective though.

I feel like that feature has never worked for Playstation.

I have always had problems with it when I use rest mode for whatever reason. Once I did a 24 hour race on Project Cars, played, paused it, put the PS4 on rest mode and next day, game or whole system froze. Lost about 15 hours worth of the race.

There is always an issue with the mode. Fuck that.

First one is amazing, great story and good stealth action. I think it's free in the PS Plus Collection if you subscribe to that shit. Haven't played the second since I was waiting for the 60 fps patch, and I'll just get it next week when it's half price in the Days of Play sale, especially since I'm still playing through Nier Replicant right now.

I really liked the narrative. It's light on actual story (like the first game) but was a pretty heavy character study. Ellie and Abby are essentially the same character within different stages of grief/acceptance.

The one thing (since you bring up dykes) I would change would be to alter the Scar/Lev storyline slightly. The girl that becomes an outcast from her religious zealot people for coming out as a tranny felt pretty heavy-handed. Other than that, I actually enjoyed his relationship with Abby.

So it was right around the start of COVID. I had just finished the most GOW and before that Fallen Order. Both of which I thought were great. So maybe that had something to do with it. Otherwise, I thought the story was kinda stupid. I really couldn’t care less about Alloy. The idea of bows and arrows taking out machines irritated me. And there really wasn’t anything special about it - just felt like an assassins creed game by Swedes. I don’t think it was bad or anything, just not worthy of its hype.

I mean, I haven't had to, but if you're going to use alcohol, try alcohol pads and don't go too rough on it. Otherwise, a damp cloth works, and if you need to scrub, use a toothbrush with some water.

Do you have every weapon in the game? Because you need it for Ending D (and thus for Ending E too). If you do already and still have your savefile from before the Shadowlord fight for C you can just load that and get Ending D. Ending E is the new canon ending. Thankfully it doesn't require replaying the same stuff as Endings B-D do, though it does require replaying a few missions before getting to the new content. You want me to tell you how to get Ending E?

Nah you only need every weapon for Ending D. You don't have to do another playthrough to get D after C though. Just load up your last save from before Ending C, beat the bosses again, but make the choice that gets you Ending D instead of C.

also until late game its almost never worth upgrading weapons or armor. you pick up an epic weapon at level 15. play a little longer and a common weapon you find at level 17 already outclasses it.

That cost Rocksteady a ton of money when they did that with Batman Arkham Knight and the PC version was so broken Steam pulled it for like a year due to them farming out the port. UC4 really deserves to be remastered for 60 fps gameplay. Digital Foundry did a video where they showed Uncharted 4 at ~60 fps through playing the game at half speed and 30 fps and then doubling the speed of the captured video and it looked pretty impressive at ~60 fps. Will probably just pirate on PoorC though since I'm not going to rebuy a game just to get what should have been a free 60 fps patch.

I think there actually is a rumored remaster of the three PS2 games. I was playing Vice City the other day on my PS2 and it looks rough on a modern TV at ~25 fps, but when I hooked it to an old school CRT TV it looked good and the framerate didn't seem nearly as noticeable. Now the XBox version of the game still looks solid on a modern TV so that's the one I play (on my 360). Or the PC version is excellent too if you still have a CD/DVD drive in your PC.

You could probably enjoy it regardless, it's just a good game. Having some basic SW knowledge would help, but it's a 100% stand-alone story that doesn't connect to the movies at all.
