what do you suggest be done?
Ain't jackshit that can be done now unless we get a time machine to 2016. Calling abortion an irrelevant "distraction" because you still jerking off to economic determinism like its 1848 didnt help tho: https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/hillary-clinton-knocks-bernie-sanders-response-donald-trumps/story?id=38063205 I mean if we are passing blame to the left side of the aisle is where I'd fucking start though.

This is the way it is and wont change anytime soon,,,good with me. Democrats shove their agenda down conservatives throats and then are shocked when conservatives do the same in kind,,,,democrats force transgender bathrooms, gay weddings, abortions,,,,basically everything conservative christians are against and then they are shocked when conservative christians fight back?,,,,get the fuck outta here. I dont believe in a god but if you push people who do then eventually they are gonna push back and then you get mad and protest. This shit aint going nowhere,,,bipartianship will never happen again in this country,,,,ever. Its an us or them mentality from here on out,,,,til one side wins all the marbles.

Just remember this,,,ive said it time and time and time again,,,people vote with their pocketbook. All the republican posters on here were up in arms when it first broke months ago that Roe vs Wade would be overturned,,,all of them saying it would ruin republicans in the midterms,,,I said no chance. As long as inflation is happening,,,democrats are toast. I still stand by that,,,independents are gonna vote republican by the millions in the midterms,,,no matter what the democrats try and disillusion them with. Pocketbook rules all.

I agree. Biden and Pelosi saying this issue is on the ballot is laughable. As if they have done anything to actually earn any person's vote this fall. :lol
It marginally moves the needle. Instead of losing 65 house seats they lose 60, imo.
People are drowning in inflation and debt. It's so dire right now that even Covid and George Flloyd cant save Dems

The midterms were always a losing proposition for the Dems, even before the alleged economic malarkey this year. Every recent president went through the same thing, Obama, Trump, and so will Joe now.
Still remember the "red wave" during the Obama years, followed by the "blue wave" during Trump, both completely overhyped. This time won't be any different.
These rulings will turn out the vote for Dems, no doubt about it. But it won't be for midterms, which are generally more tilted towards local issues and where gerrymandering is more prominent.
Dems should be looking at 2024, but Joe needs to step aside, tbh... The problem with him is not that he doesn't have time to revert his image, he's just too damn old.

It also doesn't happen without the 1861 Congress expelling disloyal nullifiers. The US Reps and Senators who supported Trump's attempted autocoup by voting against certification on Jan 6th should be expelled from Congress and barred from holding office.

1. Congress passes a law restricting SCOTUS to its original jurisdiction and strips it of judicial review;
2. Congress passes a law expanding SCOTUS.
Neither of those things would be a tantrum or magical thinking. They would be direct applications of majority power.
The problem is that this needs to be taken by Congress. I understand the gripe with the Executive, and possibly he could've done more to line up the party into things Congress could do to avoid this, but say, issuing an Executive action on this would set a terrible precedent, which likely would be struck down as unconstitutional on the long run. This is a job for Congress.

Watch this, if she did it out of pure selfishness, she's a piece of shit, if a man leaves his kids without support, he's a piece of shit. Both are doing what they got a right to do though.
Why are either of them pieces of shit? Why do you care about the woman's reasons for not wanting to go through with a pregnancy? And if she does want to go through with it, why is the biological father compelled to a years-long commitment?
I believe in legal and easy family planning access where a woman can choose whether to have a baby or not, and where part of that decision can be whether or not she will need to do it without the biological father. Seems like the most reasonable (and honestly, man-friendly) position to have, which is why it's surprising more "men's rights" types don't have the same opinion. My guess is most of those guys are really just trying to dissuade people from having the sex they're not having, similar to "pro life" incels.

Not if the woman has a choice of whether to go through with the pregnancy. I mean if the father made a commitment and then backed out, particularly after it's too late for an abortion, then I agree.
woman doing it out of pure selfishness is the same level of asshole, if she can't afford it if it's going to kill her, that's not selfishness.

That Congress needs to do it is both the problem and the solution. Majority rule was the great republican principle of the founders.

That Congress needs to do it is both the problem and the solution. Majority rule was the great republican principle of the founders.
The fact that abortion wasn't ruled illegal means a wait and see approach might be warranted. Ultimately, that only puts pressure on christian sharia states, not blue states.
But I do think now that the law is off the books, the next 60+ Dem Congress will have to move ahead with penning this as a law.

See this is why I know it's about sex for you guys. It's all resentment. It's none of your business if she should have a baby or not.

Also a virus is a single strand RNA so a better shitty metaphor use food poisoning, an embryo has more in common with bacteria. Also antivirals don'tusually kill viruses so your metaphor sucks. They inhitbit replication and your immune system takes care of existing load. So no, taking a medicine that inhibits a virus from binding to your cell while your immune system kills the infection does not make you a piece of shit.

Sometimes people need to experience some pain to shake them out of their apathy. If they don't learn from this there's no hope for them. It's crazy to me the difference between the 2014/2016 elections vs the 2018/2020 elections. The 2018 midterms had the highest voter turnout since Women's suffrage followed up by the biggest general election in 2020. Where were all those people when it mattered? Biden was just as bland as Hillary so he didn't drive that turnout. People voted in record numbers because they were shaken. The one thing I'll give to the Trump University administation is he made elections great again because he was so bad that he drove voter turnout through the roof. I'm hoping 2022 and beyond keeps the trend of 2018 and 2020.

They need to and also get some younger candidates out there because the last thing this country needs are 70+ year old fossils from the Beaver Cleaver era running the country and making decisions for the next generation. I think voting being more convenient is what scares Republicans the most because they know younger people are much more tolerant and have the potential to stop their antiquated agenda.

Virus is the wrong description, IMO. The early gestation period is a parasitic relationship. The lump of cells initially, then the fetus, is wholly reliant on the host to survive.
And yes, some parasite infections do require surgery for removal.
But, regardless, this is the wrong discussion when it comes to the law, and merely a distraction.
It's a distraction because, much like abortion isn't explicitly codified in the US Constitution, neither is the unborn.
Generally speaking, the 14th amendment only speaks of "persons", and while Justice Blackmun back in Roe determined that legally personhood doesn't start until actual birth, states like Texas at the time claimed the unborn had personhood.
Again, this is what the Constitution says vs what States or the Federal government might've encoded into laws later on.
So that's really where the discussion eventually hinges on.

Motherfucker I told you what you could use to better give an apt metaphor, cause your metaphor was shit. Think of the laid off worker of a company as a single cell in the company that gets excised for no reason but profit, not even to stave off ruin but just max profit. You for some reason equate me calling someone a piece of shit as some kind of disagreement for their rights or some crap. No, they're just a piece of shit, acting on their own self interest. Legal clashes await U.S. companies covering workers' abortion costs
June 26 (Reuters) - A growing number of large U.S. companies have said they will cover travel costs for employees who must leave their home states to get abortions, but these new policies could expose businesses to lawsuits and even potential criminal liability, legal experts said.
Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O), Apple Inc (AAPL.O), Lyft Inc (LYFT.O), Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O) and JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N) were among companies that announced plans to provide those benefits through their health insurance plans in anticipation of Friday's U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that had legalized abortion nationwide.
Within an hour of the decision being released, Conde Nast chief executive Roger Lynch sent a memo to staff announcing a travel reimbursement policy and calling the court's ruling "a crushing blow to reproductive rights." Walt Disney Co (DIS.N) unveiled a similar policy on Friday, telling employees that it recognizes the impact of the abortion ruling but remains committed to providing comprehensive access to quality healthcare, according to a spokesman.
Companies including health insurer Cigna Corp (CI.N), Paypal Holdings Inc (PYPL.O), Alaska Airlines Inc [RIC:RIC:ALKAIR.UL] and Dick's Sporting Goods Inc (DKS.N) also announced reimbursement policies on Friday.
...
State lawmakers in Texas have already threatened Citigroup Inc (C.N) and Lyft, which had earlier announced travel reimbursement policies, with legal repercussions. A group of Republican lawmakers in a letter last month to Lyft chief executive Logan Green said Texas "will take swift and decisive action" if the ride-hailing company implements the policy.
The legislators also outlined a series of abortion-related proposals, including a bill that would bar companies from doing business in Texas if they pay for residents of the state to receive abortions elsewhere.

Nigh on a half-century & that old man rendered it null & void.
Trump President.
Not Clinton.
Roe is dead, Trump put it on-the-spot and killed it. No mistakes this time; he chose wisely, hitting each of the 3 like ringing a bell. Nobody faltered, or, turned him.
And late your side came hard; first with the leak and then late with the assassination attempt on Kavanaugh.
Trump did right.
"Easy to do justice. Hard to do right."
In the context of the discussion I am having with trainwreck, regarding supposed selfish motivations for abortions, whether an embryo compares better scientifically with a virus or a parasite is not important. I could have said cancer, parasite, bullet, or tapeworm and the comparison still holds.
You wanted to call an embryo a virus because, like I said, you've been pussy whipped into going HAM for anything a woman tells you to go HAM about. Now Roe V Wade is about how much of an undesirable, almost evil presence a baby inside a womb is.
We also don't need noobs getting bent over by experienced world leaders. Somewhere in the middle would be good, a person with experience with the military who has political leadership skills and is savvy about global politics.
