Notre Dame will still be the top ranked of the teams that were idle this weekend. CFP committee chair Warde Manual said this week that the teams not playing would be kept in the same order among themselves as last week in the final rankings released on Sunday. He also noted that those teams could see their rankings change as teams that did play move about in the rankings. This is how the committee has always operated, but it is the first time a committee chairman said it out loud.

Better idea.

Dont lose 24-3 to an Oklahoma team who ran the QB and one back the entire game because the Sooners are a horrible offensive team.
This was as bad a loss as I have ever seen from an Alabama team. OU had like two plays work and they ran them over and over again against the awful Alabama defense.
REALLY bad loses have to count as well. I can see being upset, but getting slaughtered? By one of the worst OU teams.

Then This power 2 conference group needs to consider promotion and relegation like soccer if so.
There are fanbases that increase and decrease in size, popularity, and $ power. Imo this needs to be taken into account in a professional league like cfb has or will become. It’s too bad the other sports in the US don’t realize the promotion relegation system has some great entertainment value. CFB is ripe for this system imo.
