Part of the problem could be solved if we did away with the 6 win threshold and make it 7 wins. A 6-6 (0.500) team should not be bowl eligible. They should at least have a winning record.

There are actually too many schools declining bowl invitations, too many star players opting not to play due to risk of injury. I think we're gonna see a number of these low level bowls go away. Tbh, 41 bowls is silly ridiculous.
