Todd will take over because he is the only one who can size up the
big picture and as ruthless as Walt........
I think that Todd is too dependent on others. He is like a loyal dog, except he seemingly has no feelings besides the love he has for Lydia. I hope he somehow gets murdered very badly in this next episode. Preferably by Jesse.

He is far more ruthless than Walt.
With the exception of Mike, Walt only resorted to killing people, in order to save other people's lives (or his own life).
He never would have killed that kid (can't remember his name), or Andrea the way Todd did. He wouldn't torture someone into becoming a slave for him either. Most of that is because Walt is much smarter than Todd. Todd isn't very bright, so he just resorts to heartless behavior. Walt was brilliant at manipulating people in different ways.

I think the argument can be made that Walt already has tortured people in order to gain their loyalty and/or service. Perhaps just not in the physical sense.

After the Walt told Jesse about Jane and then Meth Damon killed his other lady friend I don't see anyway Jesse doesn't blame Walt for both of their deaths and ultimately kill Walt. Maybe Walt saves him from the Nazis but Jesse kills him anyway. I think Jesse will live in the end and I don't think there's anyway in hell Skylar or Jr die (still don't get the Jr hate at all). I think Lydia dies but I don't think we even see Gretchen and her husband in the finale.
Gonna be a long wait this week.

Gay. He's still nowhere near Todd's level of brutal.

Do you not love your dad? Wouldn't you wanna hear what HE has to say about everything considering he's accused of MURDER. The sad thing is he could honestly say he didn't kill Hank if that little prick would let him. And he may not appreciate the money Walt tried to send but his mom sure as fuck would with the shit she'll be dealing with

It's just another huge hole that the writers were too lazy or too rushed to fill for the viewer. Just like when Walt is walking into town, it didn't look like there were any tire tracks on one of the shots even though the guy from Jackie Brown just left. Are we to believe he took a different side road or something?

Yeah, I don't get the confusion here. How do people not see how guilty Walt looks?
- Jr. was told his father was a criminal and was under arrest by Hank
- Walt shows up at the house not arrested
- Skyler asks Walt why he's not arrested and where's Hank, Walt avoids question and gives some half-asses lie about 'negotiating'
- Walt then ignores every inquiry for Jr/Skyler about Hank, until Skyler accuses him of killing Hank
- Walt's response isn't even a denial, but he says he 'tried to save him'
- All the while Walt is screaming at his family to pack up their shit so they can leave as soon as possible
I mean why didn't he explain to Jr the 'truth' when he got back to the house rather than yelling at him that they had to leave now?

I have a question. I understand Walt's feelings of resentment toward the Grey Matter duo, but is it ever said what (if anything) those two actually did to him? IIRC, it was Walt's decision to leave the company. Then those two offer him a ton of cash and a job once they find out he's sick, which he refuses because he's too proud and stubborn. But why would people here think he's going after them? What possible reason could there be?

You're dead on. Another potentially significant piece of the puzzle that the writers hope you don't remember. Stephen King uses the same technique in most of his early works. As long as you don't look too hard, the story is great. You just have to suspend reality for a few episodes (or chapters).

It's not that difficult to figure out. In some flashbacks, it was clear that Walt had feelings for Gretchen, and it SEEMED to be mutual. However, Walt and Elliott were college roommates, and in the end, Gretchen and Elliott end up married, not Walt and Gretchen. Do the math. Or maybe I need to do it for cantthinkofanything since he is too stupid to figure out basically anything about this show.

No, I'm saying I think that is what caused him to be stupidly prideful so as to take a $5,000 buyout of the company.
Hard to say whether he is actually going back for them, or if he is going back because they simply lit that fire of pride under him that he seemingly lost, and he is going back to complete his transformation as "Heisenberg"

There was a relationship but it never got to the point of being physical. It left both with a sense of regret in wondering what could have been. Both ended up feeling that they "settled" to some degree.

yeah...maybe so. I'm not trying to discount any of the cast but it seems like several didn't have to make much of a jump to getting in character. Which is probably a indication of the great casting. Bryan Cranston seems to be the farthest away from his on screen persona. Dean Norris appeared to be Hank. AMC has a history of cutting corners and hamstringing their shows. Even though they have a stranglehold on resources and have negatively affected their top three earners (Walking Dead, Mad Men, and Breaking Bad), they continue to squeeze out a ton of money with less and less investment on their part.

In that scene at the bar last Sunday Walt called his son at school. Walt wanted
to send some money but his son wanted no part of it. He pretty much said
that Walt was dead to him now. This tore Walt up because he loves his kids.
With that now he has nothing to live for and he will probably go out in a
blaze of glory. Will he try to see Skyler who is now a dispatcher for a taxi cab
company? Will he try to see Holly? I hope the writers do this last episode justice.

Frodo decides he doesn't want to just educate hobbits from now on and decides to sell some cursed sunflowers to the neighboring village. tbh i thought he would play this one close to the vest for alot longer, but i guess Walt bringing out the tracking device played his hand. Although at this point i think we all know Hank didn't plant that on his car.
Looking more and more like it was Hank who planted the GPS device on Walts car but theres still a long-shot possibility for a twist the finale. Something i noticed watching a few episodes of the marathon last night:
1) Hank told Walt he bought that tracker online himself for 299 bucks since Gus Fring wasnt an official DEA suspect.
2) Walt purchased one himself to track Jesse
3) When Walt confronts Jesse about going to Gus' house and not killing him, Jesse demands to know how Walt knew he was at Gus' house for 2 hours and 18 minutes. Walt produces the tracker and throws it at Jesse. They then get into a huge physical fight and Walt leaves Jesse's house without the tracker.
Thus, the two people in the show that had one of those trackers were Hank and Jesse. I have no idea why Jesse would be tracking Walt or how that could play out in the finale but its still a long shot possibility.

I was really thinking about skipping the finale and waiting til everything is loaded up on Netflix (last time I checked they didn't have this season, I could be wrong) but I think I'm going to watch the finale tonight. Did you actually just watch the last episode only and then bitch about it? Please, don't tell me that you're that much of a moron.

one last lol to FX for dropping this shit when you had first dibs
I disagree.
Jesse lived.
Holly lived.
Skyler lived.
Walt Jr lived.
Marie lived.
Walt Jr will get $9 million in 10 months as a payment from Grey Matter.
I guess we just have different definitions of destroyed. To me, they lived, but their lives are destroyed forever.

That last scene Jesse looked truly happy for the first time in a long time.
in that moment he was happy because he was freed. But he will live in hiding for the rest of his life, or under a different identity.
I'm just glad they got one more scene with Badger and Skinny Pete. They deserved it.

Because he's the biggest jizzrag on AMC. He's insufferable.

I don't think Pinkman wants his identity after his parents gave up on him in Season 1 (or was it 2?). I really think he drives that car to Alaska and never makes contact again with anyone in New Mexico. With Andrea gone it's a clean break for him.

My favorite effect on the show is the fast timelapse scenes, and the most memorable is the meth ho blowing guy after guy after guy at the beginning of that one episode. :lol
I agree. That was a great scene.

I was expecting something more melodramatic, bombastic, emotional, etc but instead it stayed true to the show all the way through. Jesse lived and got to kill Todd, Walt got some sort of redemption, and Skyler is living in a shitty apartment complex knowing any hope for her future is purely provided through the grace of Walt. Bravo.

One question
Why did Walt want to target and kill Lydia?? I figured he would learn that she wanted Skyler dead
But why take out Lydia just auto like that

Lydia still demands Walt's product. She went behind Walt's back to get it.
