I think once I had my aces cracked by Q9s when he flopped a flush and I flopped top set, another time I know I had the nut straight but the person rivered a full house against me, anotehr was Queens under Kings, and the worst was having a set of kings cracked by a four flush to the guy's pocket 2s that he played with 3 overs and against my preflop raise. Thinking about that last one still pisses me off.

The best part was when I was in downtown. There was a sign on a traffic signal that read something to the effect of "High prosititution and drug area. Cruisers will be cited".

I'm looking for grad programs in history with an emphasis on religion and culture (without necessarily being affiliated with a school of divinity - it's harder to find than I thought). From what I understand the University of Washington may have a good program to look into.

I like the U-district - I think the indie fuckers might piss me off with over-exposure, but it's a big city, I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to escape them.

The rain is bad, yes. But you get used to it. It's not like South Texas with big, roaring thunderstorms. Quite honeslty, it is a lot of piddly drizzle. And though it rains a lot, yes- it is not everyday like some would have you think. It is overcast most days, but half of them it doesn't rain. But the dreary cloud cover makes some exaggerate.

Yeah, the Indie fuckers suck. They are so hell-bent on being different that they end up forming their own brand of conformity. As I always said while I lived there- "all you non-conformists are all alike." Pissed themselves off something royal. But there is still a lot of great stuff in the u-district. I would also suggest trying Capital Hill, my old haunts near Seattle U. Good times!

Did you ever watch that show on Comedy Central called "Insomniac" with Dave Atell? On one episode, he went up to Anchorage to take in the "nightlife". There was footage of him fishing in a stream with a bunch of other anglers at about 2 am or so, and the sun is still shining brightly!
The sun finally went down somewhere around 4:30 and came back up no more than a half hour later! It was the damndest thing, to say the least.
He also ran into 3 girls of legal age dressed in schoolgirl outfits, but that was neither here nor there............
