I wouldn't have thought Doc Rivers would want to trade Avery Bradley? Wasn't Doc in Boston when he Bradley was first drafted? I don't remember. If so, I thought Doc would have made the trade with Detroit to keep him.
If a trade is discussed and they do take Mills or DG or someone like that, I wonder if it's a ploy to recruit Kawhi.
So Kawhi would be lured to the Clips because of 50 Mills?! :lol

Doc has no more control of FO decisions. They have Beverly and Lou already so Bradley is odd man out and is going to get a raise. They can get a first round pick for him maybe so instead of paying Bradley they pay Mills but also get a first. Then maybe flip Lou or Bev and get another first round pick. Just stock piling first rounders for rebuilds.

No, not Mills specifically, could be Danny Green they're intersested in or Kyle Anderson. It's just someone familiar that can talk to Kawhi about what the organization is like.

Involve Cleveland getting Danny & Patty while giving. Spurs get Bradley & Crowder + Cleveland’s Second rounder. LA gets Cleveland’s 1st rounder ( not Brooklyn pick ) + Thomas

I wouldn't mind this type of scenario at all. I wouldn't mind Danny back, but I don't want to overpay like Mills, so if he's going to cost much more, maybe trading him is an option too.

Ya - a third team, due to LAC’s tax situation, is something that needs to be considered if Mills is to be involved.

Bradley makes just over 8M. He can’t be “combined” with another player in a deal so if you are assuming it’s straight up it’s Danny, Rudy or Mills. However when examined further, LAC is less than 1M from Luxury Tax so Mills for Bradley or Danny for Bradley would put them over. That leaves Gay.
But, the “combined with another player” rule can be circumvented by doing two concurrent deals so I don’t think that is an issue (or you can involve a third team to take Mills).
So maybe something like Mills + 1st RD Pick for Bradley in one trade.
Then Wes Johnson for Kyle Anderson in another trade.
Who knows though. The easiest path would be Rudy for Bradley but that doesn’t make any sense.
Thanks for your honest reply.
I suppose they are doing their due diligence. In my mind I just don’t see them making a move, much as I wish they were going to. It’s interesting.

I wonder if the Cavs would be cool with a Mills and Green for Thomas and Shumpert trade.
Cavs improve their defense with Danny, who would probably start over Crowder. Mills is another shooter to put around Lebron.
Spurs dump Mills' contract without giving up a pick. And maybe the Monsters give Thomas his powers back.

I prefer that to having to pay Mills 10+ per year for the next 4 years. Shumpert's contract becomes a desirable expiring next season, tbh.
Aren't you kind of a Cavs fan? Do you think they would go for it?

Not even kind of a Cave fan. I got stuck with this label and there's no mods around to change it. I don't think they' d be quick to discard Thomas. Paddy isn't a pg and unless they picked up Walker, I can't see any reason they'd want to take a step backwards even though Green is an upgrade over Shumpert. Thomas might also be needed to complete a Walker deal though I don't know.
Also, the Spurs wouldn't do it because of the loyalty to Mills. That would also leave them with only that sorry sack of shit Forbes as the back up shooting guard. If people haven't begun to realize just how bad he is, they will soon enough.

I think they do miss Kawhi and Rudy and the undersized lineups make them vulnerable to both athleticism and bigger sized teams like the 76ers. Cavs overhauled their roster with younger, athletic pieces and kept the nets picks... AND did it in the middle of the season without touching LBJ or Love.
Only thing that would have made the moves better was getting rid of TT or JR too but that would have likely required the nets pick.

We didn't have a Jae Crowder to trade. Trading Danny for him straight up would be a lateral move at best. And Hood is going to want bigger money this summer anyways, which the Spurs certainly weren't going to give to him.
We had better assets. Like Tony's 15 millions expiring, Danny's shorter contract or even guys like Gay or Anderson.

Cleveland giving themselves multiple JR Smith replacements is huge, too..he's been beyond terrible, now they have 3 new players that could effectively play the 2 ahead of him, if necessary..
Just a lot more versatile now..Clarkson and Hood have chucking issues, but neither has the ego or lack of self-awareness of a Thomas or Rose..

Rodney Hood for Jae Crowder is a great fucking deal, tbh.
They weren't going to re-sign Hood. He wasn't a part of their future and Hood knew it after their extension talks didn't go anywhere. He's looking for a payday and meantime Crowder is cost controlled for a couple more seasons at 7 mill... I just looked it up bc I didn't understand what Utah was gaining in that trade.

But Crowder fucking sucks. Why would they want to keep him? :lol

The Spurs usually wait until buyout time when the real bargains can be had.

I can't believe CLE bailed LA out financially and gave them a first. Idiots.

I really thought, for a moment, that the Spurs would make a trade this year.
I am sorry friend.
I really didn't.

Was hoping Vince Carter would be bought out so the Spurs could sign him and be the only team to ever have 2 players over 40 on the roster at the same time.
