In a game like this, that could easily be ball game. Absolutely stunningly bad defensive play call. Even before the ball was snapped I couldn't believe what I was seeing.. the DBs were running back and they showed a rush, then when the ball was snapped they actually played the defense the terrible way they showed it.

I didn't expect Texas to make it even this far without Baxter given how little faith I have in Quinn but they did. Good season, but sad ending especially with some very questionable play calling. They call SARK an offensive genius but the offense looked as average as average can be the 2nd half the season.

Look Sark is a great coach but his redzone play calling has to be the worst in the country.

One of the most frustrating things about this guy is the hype he gets when he had a good game, which is usually when the defense is completely over matched & he has no pressure to deal with & he can simply casually send those floaters to his wide open receivers all game. But every single game where the defense is making him move & hold the ball a little bit longer, he has that deer in the headlights look.

Ohio states offense was better than ours. They had the best 3 wide receivers on the field. They had a better running back. And on D They consistently got pressure on Quinn with 4 guys. We could not do that.

Texas is going to have a wealth of riches at running back. But like you said, they have to block. With so much talent I wonder who is going to be the odd man out in the transfer portal.

The Oline seemed to regress. Bond by injury or whatever, was our best receiver and then he was not.
Overall though, the talent we are getting is so much better under Sark. Next year should be fun with Arch.
Now let’s see if we can get a few more guys in the portal.

The safety group was exactly opposite and worked together. J McDonald scares me because I think he is a starter next year. And I like his physical nature.

J. Barron getting all the accolades does not necessarily help the egos of players that don’t think about team perspectives.
This is why I want Taaffe back, Although it was apparent to me in the OSU game Taaffe still has physical limitations. Barron and Mukuba played physical smart football and Taaffe recognized this in the locker room and backed them. Muhammad could be that type of player with the right mindset imo. Up to him though. I think our staff gets the right read for players fitting in for the most part. This is also probably why they want to hold on to Trey Moore. The staff realizes Collin Simmons is more Explosive than Moore. So Moore plays in a role where he won’t get big stats but still plays hard. They work well on opposite sides of the DL. But if Moore stays, playing time goes down for Burke and Vasek etc… NIL combined with the portal can be tough on the ability to keep good depth.

The surrounding “family” that does not inform HS stars about the glaring truths of guys like Ryan Wingo coming up behind you can lead to cruel awakenings I guess. And when the Deandre Moore types outwork you, dropping touchdowns magnifies shortcomings.

And the bridge is burned so I hope Cook can fit in somewhere. Other schools are aware of how he went about transferring. This is where agents could be helpful with real world implications of certain actions. The people around you who influence you don’t necessarily explain how big the world really is. Imo the NCAA could have an educational role for these kids and relatives who have never been out of the
”neighborhood” Or maybe the schools need to do a better job as well.
