Yea, that coach was a dumbass. The previous season I broke my collar bone and he wanted me to keep playing. He said it was just a sprained shoulder, but even the trainer told him to back off. I also blew out my knee when I was chop blocked and all the coach did was ask how long it would take for me to get back on the field.

Have you gotten a second opinion? Most disc bulging can be relieved with time and some physical therapy. Not to mention a great tolerance for pain. They told me I would have to have surgery and said, "Hell no!". My Brother did it and he was out for 6 weeks AND he still has pain.

Not to worry; it's a pretty simple surgery. Have you ever been in the hospital before? I think they are just doing those with overnight stays right? The most important thing is to get up and move; if it hurts, take the pain med. Don't try and tough it out med free because it'll just hinder your progress. Walk straight and breathe deep, oh and make sure the back of your gown is secured!!!
