Just finished Saints Row, actually a pretty good game that I had a fun time with. It did get a little bit predictable as I went on, but overall I had a good time with it. Not a game I will hang on to, probably will trade it in to get Rainbow 6, or GRAW.

Also, Baseline (or anyone else that might know), I have a question for you on the patches. I have an XBOX 360, if I begin playing a game like Oblivion which you were saying needs a patch so that it won't crash, do I have to sign up with Xbox live services in order to get the patch? I don't play online with my 360, just something I've never really gotten into. However, I'm about to begin Oblivion and don't want to get way into it and then have it crash on me. Can you just go on line and get the patch without paying the yearly sign up fee?

I'm glad to see 1 person that agrees with me. It's not the best looking game out there, it's a bit buggy, but it's fun. Who here played duck hunt or mario bros. for the great engine?

As for Saints Row, I barely killed off Las Carnales, on to the VK's, but now that I have that Mansion, I'm getting into the vehicle customization so I can fill up the garage.

XBox Live Silver is free, and that's all you need to download the patches (ie, title updates). The Umbra quest that DarkReign was talking about is the one that crashes your game without the patch, and like DarkReign said, going on it to get the Umbra sword and armor is one of the first things you should do.


Put myself on auto-run sneak behind the dude at Wynan Pryry (sp?) and went to bed. Woke up an apprentice, did the same thing the next night, woke up a journeymen.


How did you do that?

Did you know about the item duplicating bug? If you have an unpatched version of Oblivion you can duplicate any item:

1) Equip a bow
2) Equip a set of arrows (say you have x number of arrows equipped)
3) Hold RT to pull an arrow back in your bow
4) Go to your inventory without shooting the arrow
5) Try to drop your equipped arrows
6) Drop (almost) any item
7) Exit out of the menu to go back to the game
8) Let the arrow go
9) Now there will be x copies of the item you dropped on the ground

This works for 95% of the items that you can drop in the game.


Stole 6 grand soul gems, filled em, enchanted my Umbra armor with +10 strength per piece. I was a God of ownage at lvl 6. In the Arcane University. 30 Ninroot collected. Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, Fighters, etc.


That might have been a really bad idea. There's a very long quest that requires you to have 5 grand soul gems, which are a pain in the ass to find anywhere but the places you can steal them from. It's also a quest that will become your #1 priority for 99% of the people who play the game.

I play on PC, not 360, so autorun is keyed.

BUT!

If youre a 360 player, enter sneak mode, get behind anybody sitting down (or sleeping) and face yourself into a corner....rubberband your left stick to "autowalk/run" into that corner...goto bed. The game will stop when you rank (the confirmation screen), but it is by far the easiest way to rank Sneak. You can do that trick to get all the way to Master at lvl 1 (takes 5 nights of doing that trick though).

The Wynon Pryry is good because there are only 2 people in the building, and one of them has a routine where he sits at the downstairs table for LONG stretches. The table sits right near the staircase which is a perfect corner to autorun or "rubber band autorun" into while you sleep.

Played the Crackdown Demo this past week and that was pretty fun. i like the cartoon/type look it had. and the rides drove well also.

Gaming on a 360 over VGA on a CRT monitor ruined me for gaming on an HDTV over crappy component. The picture is so much cleaner when you have it output to VGA. The difference between the VGA signal and the component signal is almost as much of an improvement as is the component over the composite signal.

Has anyone noticed on 2k7 that they don't raise the salary cap enough or at all each year as you progress. So no matter how much payroll you slash or move you still struggle to stay under the cap due to each player earning a higher payday as the years progress.

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

I am currently playing this game. They went to release, only release is actually beta. This is so normal nowadays, it doesnt even frustrate me anymore.

Anywho...for using a severly modified Unreal 2.0 engine, it sure is a system hog. If you arent using a AMD 4600+ (or intel equiv), have 2GB of RAM (+more) and at LEAST a GeForce 6800 (or ati equiv), dont bother even trying to play this game.

Its waaaaaaaaay more in depth than WoW (crafting, diplomacy, adventuring), but is "lighter" than SWG (early release, not that FPS crap theyre passing as SWG now). Combat is highly interactive (thats a good thing). Anything 2 levels above you solo is going to be an absolute challenge, youre only going to win with some REAL luck (or specific buffs). 3 lvls above? Youre dead...that simple.

I havent grouped with anyone yet...I think that has more to do with me (im anti-social).

All in all, a good game. The fact that I am paying to beta test is disheartening, the myriad of in game bug is highly frustrating, the lack of clear direction is as well. But it does have serious potential, that much is evident.

I think I am going to play Burning Crusade next month and check that out. I just dont like the mechanics behind WoW anymore...the endless quest for gear in 40 man groups, gear that 10 other people want, DKP for teh suk.

^Me and a buddy have been playing Tiger '07 on the 360 and it has been a solid game. Definitely WAY better than '06 on the 360. There are more courses to choose from, you can play the PGA tour, their are also some pretty cool training events and a world tour/tiger challenge you can go through to improve your golfer.

Only two major gripes about the '07 version:

1. No fantasy courses like in '05, '04, etc. Those courses were fun, hard..but fun.

2. Lack of items in the pro shop. I remember playing '05 and '04 and there were just tons of items to choose from in terms of equipment and clothes. Not much there in the '07 game.

Online play allows you to co-op with another player. It's alright, but only if the other player rates as well as you. Because if not, you or him might feel like you're being held back, since the other person can't jump high/run fast as you.

I haven't seen any vs. online play. Maybe a future download idea? Hopefully. Yeah, it'd be nice to let someone co-op a garden, since it gets pretty crazy in the later levels. Which Star Wars game? The only one I've played on the 360 is the Lego Original Trilogy one.

I just signed up a few days ago and thank god I havent gone through all of the Fight Night 3 Achievments or GoW thats an easy 1500, best thing to do would be to get older games and use those as most of their achievments were about 150 pts each for a total of 1000

I signed up for the level 3 rewards, since I was already over 10000. You sign up, increase your gamerscore by 1500 before April 15. You have a slim chance now to get any of the better prizes, because of the people who are taking advantage of the easy achievment games, but you might get a free Live game and/or gamer pic. Street Homecourt and Crackdown are the games that basically jumped up my gamerscore quite a bit.

Now that I played through a few levels of Street: It's ok. It's a little repetative, but then again its a basketball game. I just find playing through game after game on 2k7 is a more fun than doing the same stuff over and over in these games. At least with a simulation, you factor in fatigue, foul trouble, injuries, etc. Eh.

I havent run into any cheaters but dozens of quitters, I played this guy a few days ago (Laker fan) and so his pause time runs out going into the 4th and instead of taking the win I figured what the hell its a close game and it wouldnt be fair to do it that way, so I give him another chance and end up blowing him out by 16, so in turn he gives me negative feedback. This after I gave him a positive, some people are just dicks on that game like the one guy I was up 3 on with 10 seconds left so he keeps pausing the game on me when im trying to shoot ft's

it's pretty much stayed in one spot for 4 years. i will say that it does have trouble playing some games... i dont know whether it's the game or the system... but half-life 2 takes a few tries for it not to say that the cd is damaged (it did that right after i bought the game... straight outta the box) and I had to return my first copy of knights of the old republic II because it would freeze just past the load screen... my second copy worked fine though.

What I dont understand is that theyre going to release two of these kinds of games, one is Home and the other is Little Big World, I dont see how two mmorpg's are going to work out on one console especially when you have to pay to unlock most of the stuff in these games and considering the price of the ps3 right now and all that goes with it. I really enjoy xbox live also the only thing I wish they would change is show all the servers that are available to play on. Similar to how the games on PC work, and then you could choose which one you want to join. Ive been getting pissed off because of the GRAW 2 multiplayer for that reason, it keeps putting me in the same guy when theres others available

The quest to cure it is really freaking long. Make sure to feed on a sleeping human once every day or two, so you can go out in the sun while you're doing the quest.

You can go to a church and get healed within 3 days of contracting the disease I think. After that, you're stuck with it until you get the permanent cure. You'll keep getting inflicted over and over when you fight vampires, so you might as well just try to get the cure now (once you get it, you can never become a vampire again).
