I think the one with the flying monster where you had to shoot it with arrows to bring it down was one of the best that sticks out besides the end boss. Too awesome.

You will contract a disease first that manifests into vampirism the next time you rest! So, the trick is, use a spell like Cure Disease (or create one if youre a full fledge member of the Mage's Guild) or goto any Church and purify yourself at the main altar before you rest.

If you're into hip-hop, it can be fun, because you can sign artists, release singles, but the actual fighting aspect is a little boring after a while. You can import your own mp3's to fight along to, so thats another good thing.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I am inclined to state that half the "hectic nature" of VP is attributed to its control scheme. You always feel like youre fighting an uphill battle to propogate a garden.

With all that said, its highly addiciting is you have patience. For todays twitch oriented gameplayers, VP is not up to snuff. But if you enjoy slower paced RPGs, or methodical type games like SimCity and Total War, the pacing is comparable.

Its when you get comfortable with the enviroment that your expectations rise and therefore its gets harder and harder to achieve those expectations. A very intriguing dynamic in that way.

I don't know how far along you are in your garden, but I think I'm at level 19 right now and it's pretty crazy, hopefully there's another garden size increase, because I'm at the max items for my current size. I've started working on the variants lately and trying to tame the sours. So far so good. But right now, my garden is rarely getting a new visitor, but a cinnamonkey did visit recently. :spin

I did. I don't know how people could complain about not having to wrap their normal sized hands around those pint-sized s-controllers. I had a couple of the s-controllers that I never used. I played with the original controller through the life of the xbox.

However I do like the 360 controllers...first off I had taken quite a bit of time off of playing games and when I got the 360, the new controller had nothing to be compared to. Plus I love the wireless aspect. I still have to remind myself there are no wires to get tangled in when I get off the couch.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is a blast online...but you have to play with good folks.

I never had a problem with the original controllers. Maybe if I was a little kid, it would be difficult. I've never even touched a S controller. Kinda funny that they made them for the Japanese, so I guess they all have baby hands out there.

I, as well. If you own a PS2 (or a PS3 if GOW2 is backward compatible), you owe it to yourself to own this game.

Its absolutely one of the finest pieces of art in the video game genre. Truly a game of all-time note to be held in the same esteem as Zelda: OoT, Mario 64, Super Metroid, etc.

I am on my first play thru (just got past the Atlas part...sue me, I work 15 hours a day) and am already looking forward to replaying it again, and again (especially if you get to keep you upgrades).

it feels a little thinner but longer than the NES controller. It's better if you have a gamecube controller or 2 for the SNES games and N64 games it carries.

As reported in the April issue of Game Informer Magazine, Microsoft is preparing a new revision to the Xbox 360’s hardware. According to the source within the company, the new version is poised to take advantage of the console’s popularity as a media-delivery system. The revision will pack HDMI output and a 120 GB hard drive in a black case, and it includes an HDMI cable and black game controller. The system will not support HD-DVD playback, however, though owners can purchase an add-on HD-DVD drive for $199.99. If you already own an Xbox 360 and are drooling over all that hard-drive space, fear not. When the new system debuts at the end of April, the new drive will be available separately for less than $200.

Since the issue went to press, some new developments have come to light. Engadget is reporting that the new system will be called the Xbox 360 Elite, and it will cost $479. The first run will be limited, and subsequent systems will revert to the traditional white case. Eventually, the Xbox Premium will be phased out in favor of the Elite, which could be as soon as this summer.

We’ll keep you posted with more information as it becomes available.

I bought the game on Friday. Waited until the weekend to play it. Now it being Sunday night, I'm on the last level of the game. Either I've been putting some major hours or this game is really short. I heard it was at least twice longer than the first one.

Anyway great game! I might play it again in the harder difficulties to enjoy the experience again. I really can't believe this is a PS2 game though. The graphics are outstanding! Not only that, you would think a game like this would load every five minutes but the fluidity is extremely well done. As for gameplay, if you played the first one, nothing needs to be said here.

After browsing online, I've found it's a pretty well-documented bug that lots of people are running across, and the only solution is to go back to an old saved game. One of the theories I've heard is that you cannot talk to any beggar before Amusei comes to get you, because you have to talk to a beggar after he summons you, and maybe it thinks you've already stepped ahead if you do. Still, I reloaded, beat the mission, never talked to a bum, waited for days in both Imperial City and Bruma, and the fucker still hasn't shown. I've fenced the required $700 to have him spawn.

I can't believe any company would release a game you cannot progress through. This is the second such mission I've found. The first is the one where you get a dog statue and the Umbra sword, where the game crashes when you give the dog statue back unless you travel to another town at a certain split second after giving the dog statue back. What a POS game.

Thats complete bullshit. Im so sorry dude. I see you post in alot of PC threads, whether it be hardware or software. Up until this post, I would have definately assumed you had Oblivion for PC. Its only been patched twice (maybe 3, dunno, I dont use patches normally).

I think you should maybe adopt a similar policy....if its available for both consoles and PC, get the PC version (unless its sports). As you well know, PC games have a much MUCH longer shelf life due to mods, patches, support and connectivity. Consoles are here today, gone tomorrow.

That one's kind of tricky. It's really easy to get lost in those towers. You have to go up in the first tower, and near the highest point you can reach (without leaving it) there will be a bridge you can cross to another tower. Go to the top of this tower and you'll see a friendly NPC in a cage and have to fight a demon, who will have the key on his body when you kill him. Go back across the bridge to the first tower you were in, and now go through the locked door.

Also, be on the lookout for a switch on a wall as you go through the hallways located past the door you just unlocked with the citadel key, as it's really easy to miss. You also have to enter a small portal on the ground (like the ones at the Arcane University) to get to the very end, when you reach the top of this first tower.

F.E.A.R. has you jumping at shit that isn't there. I was shooting shadows and jumping at the sound of a box falling. There's alot of tense moments like in the movies when the music gets crazy and then someone gets killed. Except in F.E.A.R., you're tense the whole time, waiting for shit to happen.

I dont know which rock youve been living under, but Microsoft is burying Sony in this generation battle of the consoles, the HD-DVD for the 360 is a $200 add-on I believe, but so far MS has been realeasing title after title of great games whereas Sony has been all but stuck in the mud and resorted to giving people in Europe 46 inch plasma TVs to buy a Ps3 :lol

I'll be getting an Elite just so I can use my Premium as a back up or for my fiancee to play Tetris on. But supposedly there are some major restrictions on the data transfer from the 20GB to the 120GB.

This wouldn't be so bad had Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg not told gamers at the launch of Xbox Video Marketplace to go out and buy two drives:

At this point we’re not ready yet to roll out a bigger hard drive. I can tell you what people tell me they do to get around this. What they do is they put their Live account on a memory unit and then they have one hard drive that they put their games or related content on, and then they have another drive that they put their movies and TV on.

And so if you took Microsoft's advice on this, you're apparently screwed.

I've translated the pertinent part of the press release, which has a few more details about migrating content, after the jump.

You can only move data from the 20GB Hard Disk to the 120 GB Hard Disk. Transferring data in the other direction, or any other combination, is not possible.
Any data stored on the 120 GB hard disk will be automatically deleted.
Any data stored on the 20 GB hard disk will be automatically deleted after it is moved over.
You cannot put the data from two or more 20 GB hard disks onto one 120 GB hard disk. If you attempt to move multiple drives, only the last one you move will be stored.
Once you move the data over, it cannot be placed back on the original hard disk.

I have a PS3. Got it back in December before Christmas. Fall of Man was the main reason I bought it and my bro bought Fight Night. The last PS3 game I played on it was Fall of Man and that was back on January 3rd when I completed the game. It's sad that there aren't any decent games out for it yet. It seems to always take a year or two to really see the potential and the developers figure out how to create a decent game.

PS3 can't upscale, and no one writes their games to render in 1080p. Is the PS3's framebuffer even big enough to support two 1080p frames, much less a triple buffer in 1080p?

I agree with DarkReign that it's too early to tell who's one we're not even a year since it has gotten into full swing. I thought that the PS3 was going to help secure Blu-Ray as the format of the future. But bad moves by Sony with their library has f'd that up.
Other than FF13 and Metal Gear 4 there isn't much that I want to play on a PS3. Especially since they lost the rights to Assassins Creed and won't have some of the games Xbox will (Army of Two being one of them).
The one thing I will give Sony is (from my understanding, I don't know the specs) their machine is much more powerful than the 360 and the Wii doesn't even come close. So the future for them as far as graphics and such are concerned is bright, but they better do something because their library sucks right now and 2 games that I really want to play isn't enough to make me shell out $600

But I didn't only mean graphics power is better on the PS3 im talking about other things, for example I've heard that they can make the leaves blow a certain way when you pass them and different ones (whether you walk or run past them)
I've heard of them being able to put AI into different invidivual animals for example so that they all act differently if a player is nearby or if another animal is to make it more realistic. When it comes to just pure processing power from my understanding (and please correct me if I'm wrong) the PS3 blows everything else out of the water.

No, what I was talking about was that I was expecting the PS3 to come out and then Blu-Ray to kick the shit out of HD-DVD. But, Sony with the shortages, the overheating problems, and the shitty library messed it up. I don't think anybody is winning that format battle right now. It does this (on most sets) by simplifying the algorithims used for up-scaling and de-interlacing that's being done by the tv. The picture's quality suffers a little in exchange. But this is only done on inputs like 1080i and 480i and not progressive inputs, so it really depends. My advice: never use it.

Can any of your 360ers recommend a new game for me. My son enjoys playing games with me, but I've gotten really tired of playing Crackdown non-stop. He sometimes feels up to playing Guitar Hero 2 together, but we usually go back to Crackdown in a few minutes. It must be all the jumping and shooting and explosions that get him into it. He was mesmerized with Saints Row and Test Drive Unlimited before.

I was thinking Burnout would be a good game because of the explosions, but of all things for him not to like, he wouldn't sit still for the "Cars" game, so I don't know how another driving game will hold up to his tastes.

The only bad thing about the game are the ads for Axe body spray and the number of Dodge Chargers in the game.

As far as getting the 360, the elite HD model with the 120GB HD came out recently, I've heard those have been in stock. So I take it Call of Duty on the Wii would just be your standard thumbs-and-fingers game?

I think all of them have some implementation, but as far as complete control, I think only the first party titles use it extensively. It kinda sucks for the people who bought it for that gimmick alone.

I heard it's because it takes a relatively short time for developers to make a game for 360/PS3 compared to having to adapt the control for Wii. You'd think since PS3 has motion control too, it'd be easy.

Take EA for instance, Madden is gonna sell regardless, so why waste time configuring the control to Wii if it isn't gonna affect your sales anyway?

As you can probably tell I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I have some insurance money from a stolen XBox and I'm looking for a good replacement.

You had an original Xbox? If your original games didn't get stolen, I'd get the 360, because you'll have a huge library to choose from. On the Wii, Wii Sports will get old after a couple of weeks, the Mario and Zelda games are "wii-makes" from Gamecube games.

If you do get a 360, make sure you get the Elite, only a little more for 6X the HD space and HDMI output.


P.S. Make sure you get Forza Motorsport 2 when it's released at the end of this month, so you can learn how to merge correctly. :angel

Currently, just GRAW2 ... it's the one I have the most fun with and can play casually. I actually just have 3 games, PGR3, NBA2k7 and GRAW2 ... chances are I'm going to trade in PGR3 & NBA2k7 because of Forza coming out and it can replace PGR3 ... and I just don't play the basketball enough, I'd prefer something like homecourt.

It's the spring update - it includes the new blade, auto shut down (though my Elite already had that,) low powered download mode, displaying game on the play game button, new achievement notification (tells you which achievement you unlocked,) Windows Messenger Live is now there (they will be selling the thumb keyboard this summer.)

Ponky, with your sig, you should know that every FPS in the world pales in comparison to Counterstrike.

Gears is damn pretty to look at, but there is NO gaming experience like pulling off three perfect headshots in a row, spinning while whipping out a pistol, and shooting the enemy who was trying for a perfect headshot on you from behind.

This is all possible because of the precision a mouse offers and the top-notch gameplay of CS.

I like Gears, and I'll get it in due time ... Kinda paying off an engagement ring and eye surgery at the moment. I'm interested in Forza2 so that I can mod cars, which you can't do in PGR3.

Also, I don't like Halo1or2 ... maybe I'll get 3, who knows ...
