A couple of times people have mentioned people from like Vietnam and Cuba vote against the mention of socialism and have implied that that's because they "know what socialism is really like". Rather than that, it seems much likely that the folks from those nations that came here were on the far right in their own countries, enough to where they decided they had to leave it. It'd be like if all the Tea Partyers went to Russia after this election and Putin was like, "The Americans who came over here prove that liberalism is a bad idea."

So where's this update from AZ?

11-05-2020, 12:08 AM
The Democratic Party expected a contested 2020 presidential election and "set up" President Donald Trump to try to overturn a "verdict" that should have never been projected by pollsters and declared too soon by the "complicitous" media, according to political analyst Dick Morris on Newsmax TV.

"The whole point of the early polls, the whole point of the paper ballots, the whole point of the delay in the counting was to establish the concept that Biden had won, or at least was too confusing to tell so the verdict could overturned," Morris told Wednesday's "The Chris Salcedo Show."

Morris, a former close adviser for former President Bill Clinton, meticulously outlined how the Democratic Party, with an assist from their friends in the mainstream media, "set up" the dominoes to fall one by one against Trump in favor of Joe Biden.

"This is all a setup," Morris began to host Chris Salcedo. "The Democratic Party planned for this. They knew they were likely to lose this election, so the first thing they did was to fake the polls that talked about how they were going to win.

"And that was to set up the presumption that Biden was going to win, so that when he won based on fraud, everybody would say, 'yeah, he was winning anyway.'"

In the lead up to Tuesday, pollsters, perhaps even to a more egregious degree than 2016, had given Biden the "presumption" of an insurmountable edge the Trump campaign could not contest.

"Then as results came in on Election Night, the Democrats constantly held up the count – in many jurisdictions the count was not completed and was left hanging in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin," Morris continued. "Then they came in with their mail-in ballots, dumped them all of a sudden, barred the Republicans from looking at them, and then announced that Biden had won."

Finally, the media pulled the final lever by delivering a narrative it is the Trump campaign seeking to undermine a free and election, Morris concluded.

"And the complicitous news media called these states for Biden; that creates a sort of presumption that Biden has won those states," he said. "And Trump is then in the position of trying to overturn that verdict."

Ducks my precious mallard

The democrats thought they would romp through this thing.

Best I can come up with is that they think it's a slippery slope. More likely, these were people who never bought into the good aspects of socialism in the first place. Like how Sanders wasn't able to even suggest that Castro did anything good for Cuba even though he clearly had some positives to go with some obvious set-backs, the refugees from those countries have to reject socialism wholesale.

We MUST have some consensus on people who are tasked with counting votes as being protected.
This is the next big project. Also not letting it slip into federal hands (Trump firing all the federal voting officials and replacing with his own)
Nor do we need States with bogus officials.
Trump has taught us that people who are objective and tasked with giving accurate data is important.
Simply by being a liar.

His prediction was right on. Trump won the first batch by a higher percentage 59-41, while winning this one by a smaller percentage.

1324255667805319174

Worst case scenario if Trump wins the last 200K Maricopa votes by 60-40, that will only net him a +40K margin. Biden currently leads by about 60K. Maricopa can't put Trump over the top. And it's assumed Pima will be much bluer.

Don't see a path for Trump in AZ.

So do some of these states lock a couple old ladies in a dark room and force them to count millions of paper ballots by hand or what? You telling me in the year 2020 there's not a more efficient way to do this? Even with mail in ballots, they aren't on some kind of scantron sheet that can be quickly counted by a machine?

JamStone
11-05-2020, 07:17 AM
Few issues with the increased mail ballots.

1. Having a machine count the votes is fine. Each ballot still needs to be screened for validity and/or discrepancies, i.e. matching signatures, matching addresses, random marks. That still takes time before allowing a machine to read each ballot. Even after running them thru the machines, there’s still usually some kind of quality control phase to certify the votes. Also takes time.

2. The whole huge increased number of mail ballots this election made some of the state laws dealing with mail ballots outdated. But in states like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, their state legislatures did not change the laws on how to handle them, even though the state officials tried to update those laws. Pretty sure in each of those states, state law did not allow them to count mail ballots until Elections Day even if they received them early. And in the case of Pennsylvania, they counted ALL the in-person votes before they even started with the mail ballots. Compare to a state like Florida that because it has a long history and a lot of experience dealing with a huge number of mail ballots has become much more efficient handling the large amount of mail ballots with its state laws and accompanying infrastructure.

In Michigan, Democrats introduced a bill in State Congress to allow state polls to start counting early mail ballots a week before Election Day. Republicans control the state legislature. They shot it down. Their logic was that it would allow for fraud to happen. In reality, they were just following the lead of the current president. Trump wanted this to happen in states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania. If those states waited to count mail ballots his campaign team knew would be heavily in favor of Biden, he could build leads in those states with in-person votes, and then discredit and ultimately challenge the validity of counting the mail ballots. Not Trump, all Republicans. Republicans actively work to make government look incompetent and chaotic in every way because it helps them make their “government bad!” Argument. It goes back well before this election but I agree, in this case Trump wanted to drag vote counting out so his rube supporters would think the election was rigged.

couple this with the interference of the United States Postal Service

what is clear is the Republicans do not want mail in ballots simply because they have determined they are more likely to lose. there are people that asked for mail in ballots that never received them and had to find a way to the polls. This disproportionately affects poor people. So now we have Republicans who are going to claim people received mailed ballots that showed up at the polls. Red team clearly believes it needs to be difficult to vote. The rules to ensure voter fraud does not happen has attempted to be cured by having people bring in their birth certificate, drivers license, photo ID from work together in a notarized pack. (See ducks)

hater just completely forget certain very large issues like the attempted dismantling of the United States Postal Service abilities during an election held during a pandemic

There's absolutely zero reason that A) married couples should get any exclusive benefits and B) Gays should not have every benefit straight couples have. It should not be distinguished that a couple is Gay or straight, only that they are married and even then I'd be OK with doing away with marriage altogether.

Its all about PA tbqh. Forget the other states, they will be tied up with legal battles. But PA is a turkey. If Trump ends up on top or if its very close, we wont know who is the next prez until the Supreme Court steps in on January.

Only hope of a quick resolution is if Biden somehow wins it by a decent margin. Which is doubtful.

Sorry to say fellas, this looks like a case for the Supreme Court. Tighten those anuses.

But remember Trump encouraged and praised the mail voting procedures of Florida. Never questioned anything about it.
thats because he had to answer why he votes by mail for florida

The runaway PA Biden train.

It looks like another 20,000 or so votes have come in from Philadelphia, and they broke 92 percent for Biden. Along with about 9,000 votes from deep-blue Montgomery County that broke 73 percent for Biden, this cut Trump’s statewide advantage from 2.6 percentage points to 2.3 points. It might seem wild that the Philadelphia tranche of votes could be that Democratic, but look at this way: Philadelphia usually votes around 80 percent (or a little higher) for Democratic presidential candidates. Clinton, for example, won 82 percent of the county’s votes in 2016. Right now, Biden is at about 80 percent in Philadelphia. But we also know that voters who used mail-in ballots were more likely to be Democrats, so you’re talking about the most Democratic votes out of a strongly Democratic-leaning pool of voters.

Nah, dude. All the hick counties have been logged since they largely voted in person. Biden is even carrying mail-in-votes from red areas by 2.5 to 1 (because Dems are more likely to vote by mail). The biggest chunk of votes is going to come from Philly, probably over 200K. Hillary carried the county 82-18 in 2016. Thing is, though, since many votes from conservatives who live in Philly have already been logged, the remaining votes from Philly will probably break something like 90-10 or even higher for Biden.

This isn't comparable to the Georgia situation. The math always suggested it would be a toss up.

AJC tallies outstanding absentee ballots in GA

Over 51,000 absentee ballots remained to be counted in Georgia on Thursday as Joe Biden pulled within about 18,500 votes of President Donald Trump.

Most of these uncounted absentee ballots are concentrated in highly populated areas, led by Fulton County in Atlanta and Chatham County in Savannah.

Biden was able to chip away at Trump's margins in every part of Pennsylvania, not just the blue areas, and he did it because of how much time he spent barn storming the state. Compare this to states like GA and NC where Biden spent less time - he ran up the score in suburban areas but still got crushed with rural voters.

No amount of digital advertising or virtual campaigning can substitute for grassroots campaigning and barnstorming. Obama won Iowa in 2008 and 2012 because he literally visited all 99 counties. The Schumer/Pelosi campaign model of just raising a fuckload of money and then running attack ads on TV is going to destroy the Democratic Party if it isn't changed.

Biden was also considered to be PA's third senator and has always been really popular in the state. My guess is that a lot of those old rural voters who usually vote GOP nowadays had a long history of supporting, if not voting for Biden in their youth.

Copium? This election was a net loss for the DNC. They won the presidency and very little solace elsewhere. They've lost a bunch of House seats, still in the senate minority even despite a bad 2020 map for the GOP, and who knows? They could still even lose the house, plenty of races that haven't been officially called yet where the Republican candidate is firmly in the lead with >95% reporting.

I'd say it was a good election cycle for the GOP despite the presidential loss tbh. Definitely better for the long term than if Trump had been re-elected.
