They're throwing the Republican SoS under the bus. I think the right message of support for Raffensperger and the process by the Democratic candidates could work for the less insane Republicans who have already voted out Trump. If these candidates are infected with the Trump cancer....
Perdue and Loeffler probably have more Trump cancer than any other GOP Senators but Trump cancer or not I think the GA Election is going to come down to whether Ossoff and Warnock can convince Georgia that full Democratic control of Congress is a good thing.
I’m usually an AOC defender but her behavior the last few days has been close to that of a petulant child. Im more worried about her ruining the runoff than anything else now. Ossoff and Warnock should tell AOC and Sanders to stay home.

Progressives need to recognize what our winning issues are ($15.00 minimum wage, climate change, healthcare, and labor rights) and what our losing issues are (defund muh police, free sex changes for transgender felons, culture war shit). How about Joe Biden’s brand of politics, seeing that he just won the state of Georgia...
I simply don’t trust Bernie or AOC to stay on message, especially AOC. People in Georgia (like most other people) want to hear about making healthcare affordable and creating good and stable jobs to rebuild the economy. They don’t want to hear about defunding the police or their tax dollars being used to help a transgender drug dealer in prison get a sex change.

Donald Trump's first wife, Ivana, on election results: 'He's not a good loser'
President Donald Trump's first wife, Ivana, is sharing her thoughts on the 2020 presidential race.
On Saturday, Joe Biden pulled ahead of Trump with the necessary 270 Electoral College votes and is set to become the 46th president of the United States. Biden's victory came after several days of uncertainty as election officials sorted through a surge of mail-in votes that delayed the processing of some ballots.
“I just want this whole thing to be over with, one way or the other,” Ivana told People on Monday. “I really don’t care.”
She also revealed that she believes Trump will remain resilient despite the unfavorable results.
“He’s not a good loser,” she said. “He doesn’t like to lose, so he’s going to fight and fight and fight.”
Ivana, who is the mother of the president's three oldest children (Eric, Donald Jr. and Ivanka), shares that her family is doing "fine."
“I just want them to be able to live their normal lives — normal lives," she said. “Not the Washington life and all that, just in New York or wherever they’re going to be and just live their normal lives. ... I’m not really sure what they are going to be up to.”
Trump and Czech-born Ivana Zelníčková married in 1977 and divorced in 1992. Trump then married Marla Maples, and they divorced in 1999. Six years later Trump married Slovenia-born model Melania Knauss, the current first lady.

More shenanigans in GA.
A software patch installed within the last month seems to have introduced a security vulnerability that could deprive people of their votes. The judge thinks the danger is real, but that it's too close to the election to issue a restaining order.
But the Court cannot part with that message alone. The Court’s Order has delved deep into the true risks posed by the new BMD voting system as well as its manner of implementation. These risks are neither hypothetical nor remote under the current circumstances. The insularity of the Defendants’ and Dominion’s stance here in evaluation and management of the security and vulnerability of the BMD system does not benefit the public or citizens’ confident exercise of the franchise. The stealth vote alteration or operational interference risks posed by malware that can be effectively invisible to detection, whether intentionally seeded or not, are high once implanted, if equipment and software systems are not properly protected, implemented, and audited. The modality of the BMD systems’ capacity to deprive voters of their cast votes without burden, long wait times, and insecurity regarding how their votes are actually cast and recorded in the unverified QR code makes the potential constitutional deprivation less transparently visible as well, at least until any portions of the system implode because of system breach, breakdown, or crashes. Any operational shortcuts now in setting up or running election equipment or software creates other risks that can adversely impact the voting process.
The Plaintiffs’ national cybersecurity experts convincingly present evidence that this is not a question of “might this actually ever happen?” – but “when it will happen,” especially if further protective measures are not taken. Given the masking nature of malware and the current systems described here, if the State and Dominion simply stand by and say, “we have never seen it,” the future does not bode well.

It seems to be part of the background here that GA insisted on the last minute software patch. To tease this detail out in a manner suggesting it is part of a blue team plot to steal the election seems a bit strained.

Exit polls are supposedly a combination of traditional in person exit polls (both from early voting and election day voting) and phone surveys of people who voted by mail. Either way I think they’re worthless now.

31 former GOP House members urge Donald Trump to accept Joe Biden election win
WASHINGTON — Thirty-one former Republican members of the U.S. House on Monday called on President Donald Trump to accept results of the 2020 election – and recognize that Democratic nominee Joe Biden won – as the vast majority of current Republican lawmakers side with the president's refusal to concede.
In a joint statement, the group of former Republican U.S. representatives said they believe statements from Trump, who has leveled baseless claims about voter fraud, are efforts to "undermine the legitimacy of the election and are unacceptable."
"Every vote should be counted and the final outcome accepted by the participants because public confidence in the outcome of our elections is a bedrock of our democracy," the statement reads. "Going forward it is our hope the nation will, regardless of party or persuasion, recognize that President-Elect Joe Biden has won this election."

Trump’s campaign presented ‘hearsay written on a sticky note’ in court as evidence of voter fraud
Specifically, Judge Cynthia Diane Stephens of the Michigan First District Court of Appeals last week rejected the Trump campaign’s efforts to halt the counting of absentee ballots in the state based on hearsay from a GOP election observer.
“In that case, a Republican election observer said she’d been given a sticky note by an unnamed poll worker, alleging that late-arriving ballots were being counted improperly,” the Post reports. “But she couldn’t provide the poll worker’s name or any other proof.”

Growing Discomfort at Law Firms Representing Trump in Election Lawsuits
Like many big law firms, Jones Day, whose roots go back to Cleveland in the late 1800s, has prided itself on representing controversial clients.
There was Big Tobacco. There was the Bin Laden family. There was even the hated owner of the Cleveland Browns football team as he moved the franchise to Baltimore.
Now Jones Day is the most prominent firm representing President Trump and the Republican Party as they prepare to wage a legal war challenging the results of the election. The work is intensifying concerns inside the firm about the propriety and wisdom of working for Mr. Trump, according to lawyers at the firm.
Doing business with Mr. Trump — with his history of inflammatory rhetoric, meritless lawsuits and refusal to pay what he owes — has long induced heartburn among lawyers, contractors, suppliers and lenders. But the concerns are taking on new urgency as the president seeks to raise doubts about the election results.
Some senior lawyers at Jones Day, one of the country’s largest law firms, are worried that it is advancing arguments that lack evidence and may be helping Mr. Trump and his allies undermine the integrity of American elections, according to interviews with nine partners and associates, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to protect their jobs.
At another large firm, Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, based in Columbus, Ohio, lawyers have held internal meetings to voice similar concerns about their firm’s election-related work for Mr. Trump and the Republican Party, according to people at the firm. At least one lawyer quit in protest.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Daniel Kiley set a combined evidentiary hearing and oral argument hearing for Thursday at 11:30 am ET (9:30 am local).
In today’s hearing, Thomas Liddy, the attorney for Maricopa County, argued that the total number of ballots in question — those that were flagged for an overvote in the presidential category during in-person voting on election day in Maricopa County -- is approximately 180. The plaintiffs in the case, which include the Trump campaign, Republican National Committee, and Arizona Republican Party, said these ballots were wrongfully dismissed.
“It would be absurd to assume they were all, in fact, overvotes and if they weren’t, were to go to one candidate or the other,” Liddy said.
The attorney representing the Trump campaign, Kory Langhofer, did acknowledge that those 180 votes may not be not enough to make a difference but he also argued that they need more time to gather evidence and that they so far have “hundreds” of complaints.
Liddy also said that plaintiffs are attempting to spur a recount, which state law only allows if the difference is less than or equal to .1%. Non-mandatory recounts — ones that are requested by campaigns or voters — are not permitted under state law.

The Trump campaign has filed a lawsuit claiming that Pennsylvania followed a "two-tiered" voting system. Discrepancies between the mail-in and in-person voting systems created potential violations of the Constitution, the campaign argued.
"We believe this two-tracked system results in two Constitutional violations: 1) Equal Protection Clause violation, and 2) Elections and Electors Clauses violation," a press release read.
Matt Morgan, the campaign's general counsel, said: “Voters in Pennsylvania were held to different standards simply based on how they chose to cast their ballot, and we believe this two-tiered election system resulted in potentially fraudulent votes being counted without proper verification or oversight, as well as many voters being disenfranchised simply for casting their votes in-person."

'Call off the legal dogs.' Some GOP donors aren't keen to help Trump with election lawsuits
WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump’s campaign is aggressively seeking donations to pay for lawsuits and recounts in a handful of states where Democrat Joe Biden won, but some GOP donors are already moving on to other fights, such as a pair of runoff elections in Georgia that may decide control of the U.S. Senate.
An abandonment of institutional Republican donors for Trump’s legal cause would leave the campaign in a tough spot as it vows to launch a series of legal battles in Pennsylvania, Nevada, Georgia and elsewhere – a multifront effort that would almost certainly require the party to shell out tens of millions of dollars in legal fees.
Three GOP donors speaking to USA TODAY on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations echoed an argument that has been raised by legal experts in recent days: Trump's effort to retain power through the courts may result in a few battles won but it won't win the war for his reelection absent some bombshell revelation.
Rather than invest money in the president's legal crusade, several donors said they were instead shifting focus to Georgia, where Republicans Kelly Loeffler and Sen. David Perdue will both face runoff elections on Jan. 5, contests that will likely decide whether Republicans retain the Senate and can serve as a check on the Biden administration.

Meanwhile, here in Arizona, the Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee and the Arizona Republican Party had their first court hearing on Monday on their lawsuit — the one that contends Maricopa County poll workers “consistently, regularly and systematically” took action that deprived Trump of “potentially thousands” of votes.
Or, as it turns out, 180 votes.

Can his rube supporters hurry up and contribute enough money for his debts to be paid off so he can concede? It's kinda a Catch-22 since his supporters who are stupid enough to believe this are the ones who have no money.

Certification is simply a stamp on the final count. Should the governor decide not to certify the election, he/she would get sued, and have to explain in court what those 'spidey-senses' are.

I don't think it's a very likely outcome, but I think it belongs on the murder board.

I've read a couple of Op-Eds ruling out competing slates of electors as legally untenable, but I just don't know how important that is anymore. If it's available and doable, DJT will try it and his followers will bless it. There are no lines with this guy or his followers. I think Trump is already burning down the republic to spite his own loss. It's a dangerous effort whether it fails or succeeds.

The problem here is that this doesn't hinge in a single State. By my count, you would need to do this in at least 3 States to pull it off, and you would also need to go and prove all the allegations happened, which is a high bar.
Plus, all this needs to happen within a month, more or less, courts are not going to drag this. That's why Sekulow is not wrong when he says they would need a miracle or major bombshell (that they can actually prove in court).
I don't care what Trump and his cult argument. They were not credible before the election, clearly they're not credible now, and as you point out, they don't care about anything but to pander to Dear Loser (they're a cult after all).

Spot on. Republicans stole the election in 2000 and it worked but that was only one state. Hard to maintain that level of fuckery in multiple states, especially in the internet era.

Trump and his team have been openly planning these steps for months. They are premeditated actions, not reactions. That's what the U.S. is facing right now: a sitting president attempting to sabotage not only an election, but also the transition process.
There have to be consequences for attempting to cripple your own government because you lost an election, right? At the very least limit his executive power until he's finally evicted. Congress would need to act, and they won't. At the moment, the R party has no sense of ethics or spine to shut down their lame duck president.

Doug Jones is dropping truth bombs about how incompetent the DCCC and the DSCC are, basically saying they invest in candidates rather than in congressional districts and states themselves. He’s someone the party needs to keep relevant if he doesn’t get a cabinet position.
Abrams needs to be head of the DNC, and they need to have not for profits like Fairfight operating in states like NC and AZ. Democrats need to concede short term defeat in TX and FL for now and look for less expensive ways to create more states with winnable senate seats.

yes, but their lead got cut in half, and there's a few races outstanding that are leaning GOP... the one in Iowa-2 is very interesting and has been flipping back and forth and currently the GOP candidate is up by like 70 votes. Not a typo.

they should put all their money into defeating Toomey's replacement and Ron Johnson for starters.

Meant to say that their "majority" got cut in half roughly, my bad. GOP well over 200 with a handful of races likely GOP but not officially called. IA-2 will be recounted but it won't change the majority, though every House vote counts when you're looking at an ultimate gridlock in the 4 chambers of US Government (GOP -> Senate and Scotus while Dem -> White House and House of Reps).

Well yeah but that’s different than long term planning. They’ll also have an open seat in NC with Burr retiring, however Burr has enough baggage where it might have been easier with him on the ticket. Likely an open seat in IA too but I think IA and OH are a lost cause for Democrats for awhile.
Id say don’t waste a bunch of money hatespending in Florida to try and unseat Rubio, but I already know they’ll dump 70+ million into that race.

I was only talking about the IA-02 race. No matter who ends up on top, the other one will be demanding a recount :lol

Focus on WI and PA and maintaining Kelly in AZ, aka Biden flip states. You're right about Florida being a lost cause for the Dems for awhile, black population too low, etc. Burr is an interesting one and we'll have to wait and see who his "replacement" is.
The left has infinite moneys but they are dumb for wasting it on unwinnable races like in SC and KY this year even with big name conservatives on the tickets. Next thing you know it, Jim Inhofe (OK) will die of a heart attack (he's about 90 years old) and the Dems will outspend the GOP 2 to 1 there and the GOP candidate will still win by 15%. I'm with you man, I don't get it either. I don't get why the Patriots tryharded the 4th quarter to beat the Jets when they should be tanking, either.

Shocked by Trump’s Loss, QAnon Struggles to Keep the Faith
For years, followers of the pro-Trump conspiracy theory had been assured that the president would win re-election in a landslide.
Last weekend, as jubilant Democrats danced in the streets to celebrate the election of Joseph R. Biden Jr. as the country’s 46th president, QAnon believers were on their computers trying to make sense of it all.
“Biden will NEVER be president,” wrote one QAnon believer, still firmly stuck in the denial stage of grief.
“Trump knows what he is doing,” wrote a member of a QAnon forum, well on his way to bargaining. “He is letting the Dems, technocrats and media publicly hang themselves.”
Some QAnon believers, however, were already inching toward acceptance.
“We’re losing,” one tweeted. “Not sure I trust the plan anymore. Not sure there even is a plan.”
These are trying times for believers in QAnon, the baseless conspiracy theory that falsely claims the existence of a satanic pedophile cult run by top Democrats. For years, they had been assured that Mr. Trump would win re-election in a landslide and spend his second term vanquishing the deep state and bringing the cabal’s leaders to justice. Q, the pseudonymous message board user whose cryptic posts have fueled the movement for more than three years, told them to “trust the plan.”
But since Mr. Trump’s defeat, Q has gone dark. No posts from the account bearing Q’s tripcode, or digital user name, have appeared on 8kun, the website where all of Q’s posts appear. And overall QAnon-related activity on the site has slowed to a trickle. (On a recent day, there were fewer new posts on one of 8kun’s QAnon boards than on its board for adult-diaper fetishists.)

I think the campaign style is a bigger issue than simply where they’re spending money. Gideon, Greenfield, Cunningham etc had more money than they knew what to do with, but it made them lazy and complacent.

WASHINGTON – President-elect Joe Biden on Tuesday dismissed President Donald Trump's refusal to concede the election as not very consequential to his efforts to begin transition planning and said it did not reflect well on Trump.
"I just think it's an embarrassment, quite frankly," Biden said. "How can I say this tactfully? I think it will not help the president's legacy."
Biden, the Democratic nominee, racked up the 270 Electoral College votes to clinch presidency on Saturday. Trump has falsely claimed the election was stolen, as his campaign mounts legal challenges in several states, including Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Nevada.
Biden is preparing for his Jan. 20 inauguration, including assembling an advisory panel to guide his efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. He said he would likely make his first Cabinet announcements by Thanksgiving. Biden on Tuesday spoke to leaders of the United Kingdom, Germany, France and other European nations who congratulated him on a victory.
"I know from my discussions with foreign leaders thus fair that they are hopeful that the United States' democratic institutions are viewed once again as being strong and endured," Biden said. "But I think at the end of the day, it's going to all come to fruition on Jan. 20."
