Because they already know which areas are trending to vote for who based on the early voting pattern.

Once the inner parts of VA are all counted, you know more votes are not coming from there, and the difference becomes insurmountable, whether all votes were cast in the city or not.

67% isnt that heavy a lean tbh... but they got a decent amount of votes in from Fulton County (atlanta) with biden holding a 75-25 lead there. about 60% of the votes are now in from that county, and if those margins hold as more comes in, could go a long way to narrow the gap. that and mail ballots that are still uncounted

States have 35 days to certify presidential elections. The Electoral College meets six days after that, that's the real election.

PA hasn't even started counting mail ins yet. There's over 2 million outstanding.

In GA, the trends favor Biden since most of the outstanding votes are going to come from Dem strongholds.
