Lol....I wonder how the stimulus talks will go after all this?

McConnell really fucked up not doing a stimulus before the election. Trump would have won going away and it would have been a minimal price for the GOP to pay to ensure they get to keep confirming federal judges for four years as opposed to maybe only being able to deny nominations.

To be fair people said that about the GOP after 2008 and look what happened.
Prob ripe for another cult of personality that comes up and says the right empty shit to resonate with all the empty people.

The GOP got taken over by Koch money pushing them harder right. There is no money that's going to push the Democrats anywhere but to the right.

i disagree that trans issues = wokeness
There’s literally 500 transgender prison inmates in the entire country. I really don’t think whether the government finances their sex change surgery should be such a hot topic during a primary debate.

Most Americans don’t give a shit about “trans rights” (I’m still not sure what that means beyond what bathroom they’re allowed to use). There’s a reason the Dems immediately started to care about trans rights after gay marriage became a settled issue, they needed a new wedge issue they could talk about to avoid having to address real issues like wealth inequality and healthcare.

Michigan had been reliably blue in choosing a president for nearly 25 years, until 2016, when Donald Trump won the state by the smallest margin in the country – 10,704 votes. But Joseph R. Biden Jr. has seen consistent leads in virtually all the polls leading up to Election Day.

Trump’s bark really is a lot louder than his bite. It’s almost 9 am and he hasn’t done anything to try and stop vote counting yet. If he was serious about stealing this election he should have been in court seeking injunctive relief to stop ballot counting at 12:01 AM when he had a big lead in the rust belt states. Gonna be a lot harder for him to try and unwind votes in Wisconsin and Michigan that have now already been counted.

I’m definitely not for a candidate calling himself a socialist the way Bernie did, I’m saying Dems shouldn’t let it dictate their policy agenda. Bernie also start embracing the woke shit way too much in 2020 vs. 2016, if there’s one thing moderates and progressives can agree on after this election it’s that we really need to back off the woke shit. The days of Elizabeth Warren spending a full 2 minute debate response talking about how she’d give transgender inmates free sex change surgery need to be over.

I'm as bleeding heart as they come and even I despise "woke shit." It's created a suffocating politically correct culture where you're labeled a racist for even the slightest off-color joke that pokes fun at ethnic stereotypes. A joke like "comb the desert" from Spaceballs would invite a social justice warrior wrath that would likely have that joke edited out if it were released today. But what I think really fuels the white grievance here is the double standards of its application. There's no joke or comments that are off limits if they're about white people. Tell a joke about how rednecks love to fuck their cousins, and you get laughs. Tell a joke about how black people have ashy skin, and you're "cancelled."

The pandering is also pathetic. "Woke capital" is the term. The way Netflix, Amazon, and such have sections for "Black stories" and how the entertainment industry will cast people-of-color in roles that were traditionally "white." I have no problem with that in theory, but in today's climate, the passive-aggressiveness of doing that is obvious. Sure, I'm all for more people-of-color and other marginalized groups in leading creative roles, but give them their own stories rather than try to stir shit up by casting a black Sherlock Holmes. Again, I want to clarify that I think something like a black Sherlock Holmes would be cool, but it'll just generate more trouble than its worth given our current cultural and political landscape.

First, I can’t find anything supporting your 60% argument....I’m assuming you’re telling the truth, but I can’t find it anywhere. Second, what the American people want versus what the American people need are two very different things. I want one of those new Tesla Cyber Trucks....doesn’t mean I need one. Much like everyone wants a bunch of free money, not like everyone needs it. And absolutely no one other than the folks involved, wants or needs a bunch of money for the national endowment of the Arts (one of many small pork items in the bill).

Either way, I’m heading off to work. You guys enjoy the nightmare unfolding before our very eyes!

Even if Biden wins, you have to say Trump is going to go down as one of the most wildly successful Republican leaders of all time. He cemented a rock-solid fascist Supreme Court majority, turned the federal court system very hard right, passed an enormous tax blowjob for the rich, and it didn't cost him shit in the senate, leaving a potential president Biden a lame duck and the Democrats will have absolutely nothing to run on in the 2024 election. The Democratic party is in absolute fucking shambles. Now I'm just waiting for Uncle Thomas to retire and have another ACB rammed through in his place.

yep

these more cultural shifts that are sometimes fleeting fare poorly when a law is made to rectify them. It’s hard enough trying to adopt tax rules to solve a huge wealth gap without unduly punishing People that are honest and playing by the rules. In this case I believe a cultural shift must occur that produces different behaviors concerning the accumulation of wealth and power. This is where revolutions come in “handy” Have the Cuban US citizens in Florida learned a history lesson?

Trump tripled his majority in Florida, and comfortably won Texas and Ohio, where the shattered punditocracy had claimed the opposite would happen. It seems obvious that the liberal-centrists of America don’t know their country at all. The east and west coast political salons – a giant, self-referential bubble – are bust.

The man who has presided over the coronavirus catastrophe, governs a maelstrom of mass unemployment, mass poverty and extreme levels of hunger and homelessness, has somehow won. Even if it depends what you mean by won.

Onwards to the Supreme Court, stuffed to the gills with conservative justices, like a giant Christmas turkey. It’s enough to make a horse laugh.

Now I'm just waiting for Uncle Thomas to retire and have another ACB rammed through in his place.

trump is the logical conclusion of the lurch the Republican Party put itself on with newt Gingrich. The propaganda, refusal to be held accountable for truth and fact. Add the assault on education, and the racial identity politics of convincing poor White trash that the reason their lives suck isn’t because of the people actually making the rules, but rather powerless black and brown people, with a dose of fear gays and transgender thrown in for effect.

the difference is he greedy corruptible idiot, who at his core isn’t smart enough to not rile up the other side. He’s been a useful idiot for McConnell and his owners to do everything they wanted, on their path to feudalism The next round of party of trump leader will be much smoother, and much more articulate. That’s when they will finish everything off.

Biden campaign is growing confident they’ve beaten Trump —

here are 5 reasons why

Campaign sources told Washington Post national political reporter Matt Viser the race could be decided by midday Wednesday.

“Biden campaign thinking:

• They believe they’ve won Wisc, expect it to be called this morning
• Mich vote by mail lead is insurmountable and will be called midday
• Philly vote by mail will come in tonight or tomorrow
• GA result midday or early afternoon
• NV called tomorrow”

I think this is more about the cult of personality than methodology. There are too many shitty people that love trump, and what he stands for, but hold back from getting in their trucks and trying to run a bus off the road because they’re not far gone, yet.

The cork will never be put back in the bottle. The division will always be there, as long as millions of people still get all of their opinions from sources that disregard the truth. How many of your dumbass friends start all their political opines with, “you know I don’t like trump, but,”. Those are the folks that drove much of this result.

i understood what Biden was trying to do. Appeal to sanity, and try to bring the country back together. That strategy is now no longer a viable reality.

Isabella County in Michigan, which sits right in the middle of the state, just reported another 11,000 votes or so. Trump had trailed by 6 points there, but now leads Biden by 6 points with basically all of the expected vote now reported, so he gained a handful of votes. However, Biden’s statewide lead is still 0.2 points, or about 9,000 votes in total, with more from heavily Democratic Wayne county still to come (it’s at just 70 percent of its expected vote).

If that's not reason for a divorce, then nothing is. I'd rather have a wife that fucked 10 dudes a month than one that completely went against me politically.

Nonthe story is that Trump got fired :lmao

Have to remain optimistic bro... hopefully Trump is gone, it's going to give US and the whole world a well needed break from craziness. A lot of things will happen between now and 2024 tbh.. hopefully Trump will be in jail or overloaded with legal issues. Repug have their own issues to solve.
GOP will win back the presidency in 2024, they'll win back the house in 2022 and cement their senate majority for perhaps a generation. Bittersweet victory for team Biden.

How am I going to be optimistic when the best case is squeaking out an EC victory by the skin of our nuts after the GOP kills 300,000 Americans and plunges the nation into a recession like we haven't seen since when Hitler was consolidating power? Democrats got their asses handed to them in the senate again in what should have been a blue wave year.

I had it 269-269. How many times shall I repeat myself? The only reason I said Trump is because a 269-269 would favor him because of the State House committee which votes on the tiebreaker would likely break Trump about 27-23 in the event of a tie.

I had Omaha-Nebraska district as light pink as possible, and it turned out light blue... otherwise my map was the best map assuming Trump holds PA.

Okay, it's possible, but not for another likely 6-8+ years. Biden starting inauguration with already a 48-52 Senate deficit, and likely facing a red tide in 2022 even with an otherwise good looking map for Dems in the 2022 senate seats. If Trump had won, Ron Johnson, Pat Toomey and others would lose in 2022. Instead, they will win comfy and even pick up a couple seats. And 2024 is a bad map for incumbent Democrats, and, assuming the GOP already has the House in hand from 2022 and Kamala (or Biden) is unpopular by then (likely), the GOP could come close to, or even get that filibuster proof elusive 60-40 super-majority in 2024 + the House and White House.

I agree that Biden is a "milquetoast centrist" but if you think Bernie would have beaten Trump in this election . . .

Face it -- Biden threaded the needle no less than Trump did in '16, in the same states -- he played it perfectly. With no room for error.

Forget about this "lame duck" nonsense. Four more years of Trump might have literally destroyed this country -- and any chance in the future to get someone you might actually approve of.

Honestly I don’t think a different candidate at the top of the ticket makes much of a difference (especially in Maine where Biden is up by 12) in this election unless it’s an especially good campaigner like Obama. Trump ran up the score in rural areas in ways we’ve never seen before and the Dems had no way to counter it.

If you can't hear it, if you hear it but you don't like, you can't do fuck all about it.

Democrats should be exstatic tbqh

They have a real chance of beating an autocratic strong man incumbent who took much of the hispanic, black vote :wow

This almost never happens. And they used a dementia patient to beat him :wow

:tu tbh...

Why yall complaining? Aint like there was some other candidate they wanted, running on things like abolishing ICE.

Dems won, anyways. Enough of this voter shaming. Only pushes people further away
:lmao

:cry voter shaming :cry

do you not shit on republicans who voted for trump?

Let's think positive assuming Biden wins:

- Trump being the dumbass he is cost Repug a big win (going after Mcain was one of his brilliant idea :lol)
- Trump will hopefully spend the following years to deal with justice
- Biden appeared to be a bad candidate and win nonetheless. Let us not forget that conservatism was / is winning everywhere (Johnson, Bolso etc..)
- Dems have once again the popular vote (at one point it must matter)
- US and the world will get a craziness break...

well.. trying to be positive :lol
Trump said he'd strongly consider selling off his shit in the US and moving to another country to retire if he loses. But it would have to be a country without reciprocity of law / possibility of extradition, so probably not a country like Canada/UK/Australia/NZ/most of the EU. Probably some tropical island country in the Pacific, maybe like a Jamaica, somewhere like that. Maybe the Bahamas so he'd still (illegally) access Florida and pay off people to keep him secret.
