Lorbek for BAE?

Dwyane Wade left cross-country flight with LeBron James to Miami still unsure of which way James is leaning, sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Lorbek for BAE?
If only this was 2012. Lorbek has clearly regressed since the Spurs last had a lot of interest in him. It is obvious why Barcelona is cutting him. Makes no sense to take him now.
Lorbek for BAE?
Funny that you are mentioning him. It seems that he will be bought out of his current contract (http://www.sportando.com/en/europe/spain/126716/fc-barcelona-negotiating-with-erazem-lorbek-to-part-ways.html). His play must have declined quite a bit in the last couple of years.

The comp I come up with at this point in his career is Oberto. Is that fair to either player? Would he be valuable in a lesser role?

Got paid and got lazy. Spurs should pass. Rather them bring over Bertans to start grooming or keep Bonner for another year.

No its not. They don't want to pay the tax next year and they are out of the Gasol running, so that extra mil that they have in the trade exception over the MLE doesn't mean nothing to do them at this point. They have the MLE and BAE and if they use both they will be just shy of the Luxury Tax.

LeBron's block in Akron, 7:37 a.m. local time.
My guess is that Lebron already decided to resign with the Heat on a short term deal, but the media overreported his interest in Cleveland, and now he's got to space out his public statements to walk back the Cleveland fan expectations before he gets condemned for spurning them twice. And when you have that many pissed off fans so close to your house, you got to be worried about what they are going to do when you break their hearts a second time.
Lebron is going to Miami on a short term deal and the walk back started last night when the media leaked a "Lebron still mad about Dan Gilbert's letter" message. At this point, I don't think he cares much about the letter. If he was ever serious about going to Cleveland in the last few weeks, then the letter, which has been up for several years, has not really influenced his decision. But it's a great way to shift the blame to Gilbert when he resigns with Miami.

They can't until they trade Linn and gut over half their current roster. Philly is going to ask for Beverly, Linn and two 1st rounders. Houston will be over tax and only five players under contract. Morey is killing that team for next year. Like I said, Cuban shafted the Rockets either way they went. I am glad they are matching Parsons, means the Spurs don't have to worry about the Mavs next year.

So if Bosh signs with Houston and Houston matches Parsons, then they'll have more than $70 MM (Not sure what Bosh's first year number is, just that it's $88MM over 4 years) tied up on 4 players. So they're going to sign 9 players (at least) with the remaining $5-$7MM or pay the tax?

Actually Bosh will be their best player. He has been very underrated. Howard is not mentally tough; Harden and Parsons are one-way players and Parsons doesn't deserve even 2/3rds of the money he has been promised if you ask me.
But Bosh will make them a contender. His key is his P&R & help defense in a P&R league. Houston's defense will be far better plus he will spread the floor and hit mid-rangers and occasional three pointers. Interestingly, Houston did not have a mid range shooter last season.
But even if one of Harden, Howard, Bosh is injured for even a bit in the playoffs, they will be toast. (Unless Morey does a Buford and gets some surprise FAs for the minimum).

That's certainly a big issue, but there's also the 82-game load that the top-4 players will have to carry...can these 4-guys really get through that unscathed and be primed for the playoffs?

Melo realizes that the journey to a finals is much easier with the Heat dismantled and Chicago shores up the defense that he doesnt have in NY and his scoring helps them get over the fact that they suck offensively in chicago. Pau will wait for Chicago to make the deal or not and then decide.

I think this is the start of a process to get them Love without trading Wiggins. And I think it may just work.
Keep this offer, and add to make it Waiters, Bennett, 2 first round picks (one can be the Heat's, lol) and a second round pick. That's a nice core of youth and picks for Minnesota to build around. Cavs have 3 picks in rd 1 next year, I believe.
Houston just needs to let Parsons do. Their salaries just aren't sustainable. Morey needs to cut his losses.
And Dallas is not a threat now even with Parsons unless Pop acts foolish again by putting Leonard on Ellis and Green on Parsons.
Pretty much feels like a lose-lose situation for Houston... Which is why it's such a good move by Cuban-Nelson...

Surprised that the Hawks aren't offering Bosh a max deal. He, Horford, Korver, Teague & Carroll would be a great combination for the Hawks. Bosh will earn his All-Stars and get deep into the playoffs staying in the East and will also be a first/second banana. A better fit than Houston.

By the way, I do apologize for misunderstanding you in our eariler discussion about this. I didn't really read one of your posts in the line of conversation, and that's why I misinterpreted you.
Totally accepted! Thanks. I don't know if the FO thinks they need 4 point guards or they might have traded a guard for a guard, unless despite opinion at the time they actually liked the value they saw in Daye over any guard they could have gotten in return. And, they might like their chances at filling the 4th position from other avenues rather than a trade, at the time? Like now. Or, previously in the draft (although with hindsight we know this did not occur.)
But, it still brings up the question I was getting at. If we keep up all this pursuit, someone isn't coming back. Baynes refuses his offer, they eat Daye's salary, Bonner doesn't return even for the minimum, or Cojo, Ayres, Belli, etc. is traded to open up a roster spot for Beverly, Cotton, Darius, or whoever. We're getting down to brass tacks. Mixing metaphors, the music's gonna stop and someone's not getting a chair on the title defense team.

Dude, Cuban got the last laugh on this one. He should text Morey Parsons contract after they resign him, Rockets got nothing but 13 mil more of salary and lost Linn and Asik and can't replace either.

If Houston really does waive Beverly, how would folks feel about the Spurs submitting a claim? Thanks to their De Colo exception, they can do so.
He is only making $900k and they need someone to start at PG. don't see it happening.

Well at least the Rockets still have cap space for next year. I bet they're glad they didn't do something stupid like let Parsons out of his contract early.

Keep in mind: couldn't this still be a S&T?
edit: nvm, 5-year deals can't be used in S&Ts, correct?

If Miami can re-sign Wade to a decent contract and get some other FA's like a Deng or Ariza, they're not so bad in that weak East...
