2. Florida State is sadly mistaken if they think they stand toe to toe with A&M in regard to head coach salary, assistant coaching salaries, amount of football staff/personnel, overall university endowment, football stadium, football only facilities, fan support, etc.

Obviously Florida State has historically been a better "program" in comparison to A&M, but as of today in 2017 - A&M is the better job and Jimbo apparently agrees. Hence, they are on the verge of officially poaching 1 of the 4 current active coaches who has one a national title.

depending on how early enrollment is handled we only have seven spots available, that means any WR beyond what we have is going to take away from another position of greater need. Same with DB, at this point the need at OL, DL, and LB is really really huge right now.

I'd be happy with 2 more DL, 1 more LB, and 4 more Olinemen. Keep what we have at other positions. Of course Cook is a tremendous get, and normally I'd really want him, but our oline situation is so horrible I'd really want to get that taken care of as being so much more important. If we can get a grad transfer at the oline that would help so much, but until that happens we can take what we need in juco and in numbers from high school.

It's been a real problem with Texas football. You're either an absolute stud and aren't around long, which are few (Williams and Jefferson), you're super talented but a real knucklehead (Hill and Fowler) and get kicked off the team and costing us games. Lastly you can be a role player or backup but instead choose to transfer because you're not the star (Warren and Delance). Almost forgot or you flat out quit on your team like all those OL guys wanting to give up football I'm mostly surprised by Cuney I mean this guys been a non-factor his whole career and finally sees the field and does a decent job and the following year where he can be a real asset he wants to give up football what the hell is that? These guys are something how do we build a team like that. At this point we put hope in the Herman guys as long as they stick around and don't jump ship I think that's where we begin...

If Brandon Jones can improve on the level of Elliott then the defensive backfield will again be pretty solid next season. Boyd (if he stays) and Davante Davis will be very solid corners. I feel confident Texas will get guys up to speed at the nickle dime and strong safety position. We will end up relying on more freshmen than I want, but not as starters which is how it should be.

As long as Chris Nelson pulls his head out, he will be the center piece of the dline next year. I think Christmas is gone, but I'd like for him to stay, I think he could develop into a heck of a player if he would put forth the effort and buy into what Olando and Giles are trying to do. Other than that, with the other guys we have coming back I think the Dline will not have a drop off. Omenahu is in the same boat as Boyd, he might be draft able now, but I highly doubt he will be drafted if he leaves early. He might as well stay one more year and improve as he still has a lot to learn.

Don't forget PJ Locke returns at the nickel. He wasn't game charger but he'll be solid and should only improve. I'm almost certain Chris Brown will occupy one of the safety positions. I know he was getting rave reviews during fall camp before being injured otherwise I think he would have seen the field some. I think he'll be a good one already a reputation as a thumper like Vaccaro.
