I told my son that if he had a lot of D1 offers in football that his OV list would be Texas first, then in no particular order Oregon or Washington; USC, Stanford or UCLA; Miami, and maybe Boston College. He would've chosen UT for sure, but still taken the trips. Sadly, he didn't receive those offers and had to settle for an academic scholarship. I would've let him do it so I see no problem of them doing it.

I could care less. He may be a great athlete, but who would know? Clemens had almost zero passing offense. That is why they lost to Steele. How do you even evaluate a WR or TE in a very poor passing offense?

The Judson WRs are not that great, but I take them all day long over any WR from Clemens. At least at Judson there was an okay passing game.

I would take every visit I was allowed to take. I would see as many schools as possible, hopefully in different areas of the U.S. I take advantage of the free travel, food, fun, and a chance to see new sites. Then, once I exhausted all of my trips, I sign my letter of intent to UT.

Okay, so I'm looking at the current crystal balls for the top talent in the state moving into 2019 class. Right now the Aggsy are leading for 6 of the top 20 kids, with Oklahoma also leading for about 3 and Bama leading for 2. Texas leads for two. There are a few guys with no CB picks.

This up and coming cycle, Texas is going to have to make enough of an impact OOS that it can pick up some guys because Aggies will likely pull a lot of the top talent and Oklahoma is going to win it's fair share as well. Then you have teams like Clemson, Georgia and Bama that are going to cherry pick a couple.

Texas has been in contact with him for months, but it was originally with Coach Giles since they liked him on the DL.

When Coach Hand was hired, they decided to offer him on the OL as a project. I haven't seen any talk that it's related to Angilau's mission.

DL is where he wants to play, but he's said UT is his dream school.

In my mind, he is a TE all the way. I think he would be a great TE and might have a future in the NFL. If he still thinks he is a RB, well, I'm sure we be seeing a lot of him when we drive up to What-A-Burger.

that is the one thing i don't get about the star rating system. sometimes, it's just metrics. tommy bush is an example. he looks great until you see his game film. there was even a kid at steele, Lejond Cavazos (2020) who after his freshman year was getting all sorts of scholarships (texas, bama, ohio state...) even though he hadn't really seen the field because steele's secondary was loaded. He had an attitude issue, left to go to Seguin and never played a single down there. he is now enrolled at the IMG academy. he may turn out to be great but right now he has all the love from all over because of his size and physical skills only. time will tell if matches up to his physical traits or not.

Looking at the weakness on the Texas roster, this class is going to fill a lot of gaps.

Oline - Probably the worst I've ever seen, so we have 6 guys sign, five if Angelu goes on a mission, still it is a group that if we can redshirt them will be a solid group. I'm most excited about Moore as I think he could be another Connor Williams. The big question still remains, can we get the services of Calvin Anderson? If he comes aboard it will go a long way to making next year's line much better.

TE - Another position that was horrible, The addition of Epps will allow Texas to really turn this position into a weapon. However, it won't happen overnight. He is a guy that should red shirt.

QB - This is such a tough position to gauge, but for the first time since 2002 Texas has real depth at this position. I look forward to seeing how this position pans out.

RB - Not a position of huge need but it never hurts to get the best back in state. I think depending on attrition he is likely to make a big impact.

WR - Again, attrition is going to play a part in how much playing time these guys get, I'm excited to see Eagles and Woodard as I think they are going to make an impact next season.

Dline - Texas is in pretty good shape with our roster going into next year, but we still got some fantastic prospects so if any of them make an impact it's because they are total badasses or we had injuries. Still excited about this group, especially Ojomo. I still can't believe he is only 16 years old.

LB - Small group, but they are salty. I'm really looking forward to seeing if Overstreet is spun down as I'm suspecting. He is huge and fast, but what really stands out is his hitting, reminds me of a guided missle.

DB - Nothing I can add, best signing class I've ever seen by anyone. I'm sure Bama fans would disagree, but this is a big group and talented. I think Sterns is the real deal and he is the next great Texas DB.

I think Sterns is the real deal and he is the next great Texas DB. i've seen sterns up close for the last three seasons at steele, in practice, 7 on 7's and at the games. he is the real deal and i had suggested before this year that he should be a five star which was finally realized. he is physical, athletic (played a lot of receiver for the knights and ran back many KO's and punts for TDs as well) and he can cover and get to the ball (ran back several INTs too). he is also just a great kid. i hope he excels at UT and moves on to the next level as well.
