At this point, to still be bringing up Charlie and still doing comparisons is just Trumpistic. Is that what he's shooting for? Because if so, he is succeeding.

There is not a Texas fan I know of that wished Charlie had failed. He's a hell of a good guy and started working on the MacK Brown privilege culture, discipline, and getting to class problems. Charlie did some good things. But honestly he was lost during game day. I truly hope he is successful throughout the rest of the career. Same with Manny Diaz who Charlie was really pushed to fire. They seem like good peeps.

There you have it. There will always be coaching comparisons. And I'm still not sold on some of Herman's tactics, but I'm certainly not gonna hope we lose. The problem for me with the sideline stuff from a coach is then you set a standard of getting back at the other team outside of football. Then when a kid does something stupid by acting out, and you get a crucial 15 yarder, what do you say.... I'm going to assume Herman knows how to play what can be a fine line.

Bottom line we won by finishing strong. Nice to see. And Herman had those kids ready despite the fact our O still stinks. Good win.

Personally, I would prefer one of two options.....128 schools, eight 16-team super conferences (two 8-team divisions), all aligned regionally.......or sixteen 8-team conferences all aligned regionally. Either way, all teams play 12 games (16 team conferences have a Champ game with division winners), with the Conference Champ going to the playoffs. If 16 confetences, a 4 round playoff, and if 8 conferences, a 3 round playoff.

Now for non-playoff bowls, you have to win 8 games to go to a bowl.
