He was able to troll Wiltfong
This is about Wilson
But he also mentions spots available. i think he means one spot for Brenen Thompson and then 2 spots left got the other 3 names

He is the biggest recruit on our board.
1. He is the big lockdown corner we haven't had since Aaron Ross and Quin Jammer was here.
2. He is a North Shore kid and would go a long way to opening things back up with that school
3. He would be a huge win over Bama and LSU, two schools that have owned us over the last few years in Texas.
4. He is the bell cow that can bring the defensive class together.

We need to really work on Denver Harris, he is the must have recruit for the defense. I'm seeing that Texas will have about 12 scholarships allocated for defense. This means we have to be a little more judacious with who we take. The two safeties and Harris will make this a perfect DB haul.
After watching more 7 on 7 film on Murphy, I can easily see why he is a 5'star, this kid has one of the best arm's I've seen in a high school player. His arm reminds me of Trevor Lawrence. Strong, accurate, can thread the needle and float it over a DB. He is absolutely winning me over.

Just my opinion, but I think Texas is being a little too cute with Miller. They seem to be turning over every rock in the country for another running back, while Miller would jump on board if pushed. Perhaps the staff thinks Blue and Miller's skill sets are redundant. They seem to be more focused on APB's at the moment.

Some picks coming in today for S Bryce Anderson to Texas
Including picks from Wiltfong and Suchomel
Wiltfong supposedly gets info from directly from Elko. If so, then his pick may mean Anderson has let the aggie coaches know of his decision
I guess we will know soon enough if this is accurate. But, at least for the moment, it looks like Gideon and Joseph are out there getting the work done, despite Hullaby

Great quotes from Rueben Owens dad in a 247 article.
“It was attractive to my son and Sark is there and the relationship he built with B. Harris and Stan Drayton the running backs coach, and to see where the program is going with Sark and how he used that offense with Alabama and bringing it to Texas with the All Gas, No Breaks, and trying to keep the Texas boys at home and bring this tradition back to Texas, the real Texas football,” Owens father Rueben explained.
“He’s been feeling Texas for awhile, even when (Tom) Herman was there, he had a relationship with Herman but when Sark got there it lifted it up a lot because he watched the National Championship game and he saw how he used Najee (Harris) and spread him out and got him the ball out of the backfield.”
“The tradition of Texas football and being a Texas kid,” the elder Owens said. “The Vince Young tradition and trying to bring that glory back and being a Texas kid and having the state on your back and your family right here in Austin that was big for us.”

TEXAS IS EXPECTED TO ADD A FORMER 5-STAR (Inside Texas)
Ben Davis was the #10 nationally ranked player in the 2016 class. Out of Portho, AL, he unsurprisingly chose to stay in-state.
Things have not worked out for the linebacker due to injuries and lack of positional clarity. At Bama, even if you’re a five-star, you can get lost in the shuffle in a hurry. He’s expected to finish his career as a graduate transfer at Texas.
While the 6-foot-4, 240-pounder didn’t have a great fit at Bama as an ILB, he’ll potentially have two good ones in Pete Kwiatkowski’s defense. He could play the X-backer, the Jack-backer, or potentially both depending on the situation. He may even get a practice or two at ILB.
With a little time on the job, Steve Sarkisian, Kyle Flood, and Jeff Banks, have an idea of what they have on the roster, and also what they don’t. Davis is viewed as another option to help bolster the edge rush.
This staff has been proactive, already adding Ray Thornton from LSU who is working hard in Austin, and Ovie Oghoufo from Notre Dame who is set to join the program after the semester. Like Oghoufo, Davis is expected once Bama’s semester is completed.
At a minimum, adding real experience from winning programs (both Thornton and Davis have rings) at a need position is a big plus. But encouragingly, each guy offers some real upside at the position, and will allow Kwiatkowski to deploy two OLB’s more often in the pass-happy Big 12.

From Super K/TFB --
Earlier this week, Texas Director of Recruiting, Brandon Harris was offered a NFL position. Soon after the offer was made, we were told that Harris would likely be accepting the position. I am told that this may no longer be the case. Source indicated that coach Sarkisian spoke with Harris today and was apparently extremely convincing. I’m told he laid out a compelling vision for Harris’ future growth at Texas.
As of Friday evening, I’m told things went from he was as good as gone to, he’s leaning towards staying.

Wiltfong --
From this group, the Longhorns, Gators and local Tigers are making the biggest impression. “Texas, they have a good staff they just built and how much they call me and let me know I’m a priority there,” Mathews said. He is talking regularly with Steve Sarkisian and Terry Joseph.

I don't care about the ranking of our class persay, cause we have had some high classes that didn't do diddly squat......I care that the kids that come in work hard, buy in to what the coaches want, give max effort, and that the coaches actually coach them up, while putting them in the right positions to succeed.

I believe one of the worst crimes the Herman/Strong eras perpetuated was turning the fan base into a bunch of gutless pussies. We can’t even get excited about a great run in recruiting without waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I'd go back farther than that, look at the 98 recruiting class ranked #1 but had so many misses. Same with 2002, we signed about 5 5'star kids but only 2 of them really panned out. Yes we had a few guys that hit it big time but it is the reason I continually say that if you sign 10 4'star guys you can expect 5 to contribute and 5 to be misses.

Do you know if he was playing injured or what?
Because he was absolutely awful last year and they kept playing him.
It did not do the football team nor Caden Stearns any good to be on the field.
But I trust you’re insight and I hope for the best in his ventures into pro football.
I also hope he graduated with a degree that will allow him to work at whatever pursuit gives him a sense of accomplishment. I got a heck of a lot out of going to the University of Texas, I hope he does the same. I have four generations deep of relatives Who gained so much by going to school at UT.

24/7
—Director of High School Relations Chris Gilbert is now officially on the job at Texas and met with leadership from the Texas High School Coaches Association. Gilbert was a member of the Region 3 Board of Directors for the THSCA when he was hired at Texas. Sarkisian and Gilbert were pictured with THSCA Executive Director Joe Martin and Assistant Executive Director Glen West. In talking to sources at several Texas high schools and others within the THSCA, Steve Sarkisian has been very well-received so far. His first meeting with the THSCA went extremely well, and hiring Gilbert was another great move to ingratiate himself with the Texas coaches. So far, the reviews have been strong and I was told that there’s a lot of faith in Sarkisian going forward. Where the Texas job can be a pressure cooker for many, Sark’s time at USC and Alabama prepared him well for a high-pressure environment.
—Speaking of Gilbert, it’s been an all-hands-on-deck approach for Texas recruiting and Gilbert has been involved. In the past, Bob Shipley didn’t seem to be involved a ton in the day-to-day recruiting operation for Tom Herman, but several high school coaches have told me that Gilbert has been involved with a number of prospects. While Gilbert doesn’t serve as a primary recruiter for anyone, several high school coaches told me he’s been working the phones to connect with other coaches in the state in order to reach kids or parents. Gilbert is an incredible relationship builder and universally liked within the state of Texas, so consider him another weapon for Texas on the recruiting trail.
—I’m told the mood around the team can best be described as “refreshing.” Maybe it was the shadow over the program with Tom Herman’s job constantly in question over the last two years, but it sounds like the change in leadership has been a breath of fresh air. One source told me that the staff is coming together in a very cohesive manner quickly. One source told me they were impressed with the overall knowledge and work ethic of the coaches and support staff members. While there are some big resumes in the coach’s office, there doesn’t seem to be any big ego right now. Coaches tend to take their cues from the head coach, and I’ve been told by several people that Sark is a regular and approachable guy.
—When Tom Herman first got to Texas, he remarked that he hadn’t watched any film on his team and wasn’t effusive in his praise of the talent on the roster. I was told that the staff likes the roster they have and feel they have a chance to get a lot out of them come this fall. So far, several members of the team have impressed the staff with their work ethic in the offseason and they feel they are getting strong leadership from several members of the team. It also helps that some of the most talented players on the roster are leading the way in those workouts. It’s too early to gauge buy-in, but I haven’t heard very many negatives from the team since the new staff arrived and workouts started.

There is a glimmer of hope with Thompson. Clemson in a cost cutting move is trying to cancel their men's track program. I believe it's currently in court. You'd think this would be a deterrent for a serious track athlete like Thompson, but I'm sure Dabo knows exactly how to spin it.

That is an interesting development. What is the state of the Texas track program, I know it's not going anywhere but it's been a long time since I've heard of anyone special coming out of it. Seems we are behind both aggy and blOwU when it comes to track.

Inside Texas
OT Kelvin Banks, Summer Creek (Humble, TX): One of the biggest needs in the class, IT feels he’s been close to shutting things down at times. The more competitive the recruitment, the harder it is to close out.
Biggest competition: A&M, LSU, OU
EN: 80%. I’m not so worried about LSU or OU, but I think A&M is worth paying attention to.
GH: 70%. Texas A&M is a threat, and LSU was the leader during the season.
JW: 80%. If he didn’t have a de-commit under his belt already (Oklahoma State), he might already be in the class.
OL Devon Campbell, Bowie (Arlington, TX): The elite interior prospect has long been a fan of the Horns.
Biggest competition: OU
EN: 85%. It’s a tale of two timelines: we feel Campbell would personally like to choose but his family wants him to be sure of his decision and wait.
GH: 80%. The longer it plays out, the more opportunity there is for an upset.
JW: 85%. Austin might be one of the only schools he’s visited. He’s low key and prefers Kyle Flood’s recruiting and playing style.
DL Kris Ross, North Shore (Houston, TX): The athletic d-lineman is deciding soon.
Biggest competition: USC
EN: 85%. Ross got the offer he wanted, then a couple other nice ones to make it a wee bit interesting.
GH: 80%. Only way Texas doesn’t win this one is if they get Hussle’d.
JW: 80%. Bo knows recruiting. Kris would Warm Up this class on March 23rd.
DB Bryce Anderson, West Brook (Beaumont, TX): Bry name is versatility. He’d get his first look at corner then move in.
Biggest competition: A&M
EN: 85%. This would be a big jolt to instate leadership in the class, not to mention the overall talent.
GH: 89%. Just wanted to have the highest % here.
JW: 88%. Seeing other schools currently push is only more confirmation of Orange house.
DB Jacoby Mathews, Ponchatoula (Ponchatoula, LA)
Biggest competition: Florida, LSU
EN: 70%. Florida feels good, but still wonders if he’d leave Louisiana. LSU is a mess right now, and it could get messier. Texas would prefer UF to be concerned about LSU.
GH: 70%. Trending for Texas, but this is still reeling in a high level SEC prospect out of the Pelican State.
JW: 72%. Wildcard with five-star abilities. This is a guy that Mack Brown used to snag in the 2000s and cut loose on defense.
CB Terrance Brooks, John Paul II (Plano, TX): Maybe the most underrated player in the state, and perhaps nation.
Biggest competition: Alabama, Notre Dame, OU
EN: 75%. Gerry is absolutely right, I just happen to feel good about where Texas stands in each regard.
GH: 51%. This recruitment will come down to coach relationships, and presenting a clear picture on how Brooks will be used in a scheme. Alabama is recruiting him at corner, as is Texas.
JW: 60%. Texas vs. the Field.
CB Denver Harris, North Shore (Houston, TX): Elite corner, must-get, etc.
Biggest competition: Alabama
EN: 60%. Shades of the Anthony Cook recruitment, a recruitment Texas won with a lesser staff. Still, it’s Bama, so you pay close attention to every move.
GH: 50%. Nick Saban just hired an analyst that played at North Shore. The G.O.A.T. is positioning himself to upset Texas, and beating out Bo Davis, Jeff Banks and Sark for a Houston area premium position prospect would about equal winning an SEC title for Saban.
JW: 65%. Bama might be sexy, but Texas is still closer to home. That’ll matter.
WR Chris Marshall, Marshall (Missouri City, TX): Bigger receiver with small-man traits and natural hands.
Biggest competition: A&M
EN: 25%. The longer it goes the more UT will have a chance. I’m not truly interested unless he visits campus.
GH: 30%. The chance to be the next Caleb Chapman is too tough to pass up. Make no mistake, Texas wants this guy.
JW: 25%. While he contends he’s wide open, Texas A&M has some confidence here.
LB Harold Perkins, Cy-Park (Cypress, TX): Uncommonly athletic linebacker.
Biggest competition: The SEC West
EN: 20%. Market demands often drive the craziness and Perkins is a scarce resource on a late timeline. Everything over the next handful of months is just jockeying for position.
GH: 35%. Jeff Banks will have Texas in this one. That’s about as far as I can see right now.
JW: 25%. If UT’s C/O 2022 keeps ascending up the charts, Perkins’ interest in the Horns will as well.
OL Kam Dewberry, Atascosita (Humble, TX): Exceedingly high floor G/T with every offer in the book.
Biggest competition: OU and A&M
EN: 55%. I’m predicting a big move for Texas throughout the rest of the cycle. Flood will need to put a good product on the field, if he does, this percentage could shoot way up. My feeling is Dewberry ends up at the school that wins the instate arms race.
GH: 45%. The rumors of a silent commit are flat out wrong. This one will play out a while. He wants Ohio State, but parents want closer to home.
JW: 58%. Six months ago, my percentage would be in the 20-25% range. From the O-line factory at Atascosita, he’s a prime example of good hires leading to momentum.
WR Kevin Coleman, St. Mary’s (St. Louis, MO)
Biggest competition: Alabama
EN: 25%. Texas desperately needs a visit for Coleman to connect with an offensive-minded head coach who also happened to be the architect of the record setting offense of the school he’s competing against. “Coach Saban’s great, he’ll turn you into a first round corner for sure. You really can’t go wrong.”
GH: 35%. Sark gives Texas a chance. Saban would love to beat Sark on a top WR.
JW: 20%. There’s some Maalik appeal here, but Alabama is turning into WRU and that alone gives them the best odds.
DL/EDGE Ernest Cooper, Martin (Arlington, TX)
Biggest competition: Stanford
EN: 25%. Texas needs TEAM GAMER FOOD (TOO SOON, but I hope they’re all dead) to hack his transcripts while still keeping them Texas good.
GH: 35%. If he was an OL it would be 0%.
JW: 20%. Call it Stanford PTSD, but Cooper strikes me as an out-of-state guy. However, the Texas influence in the Martin locker room is only getting stronger.
WR Jordan Hudson, Garland (Garland, TX) - Oklahoma
Biggest competition: OU
EN: 45%. Flip the bottle blonde and this shoots up.
GH: 40%. Hudson remains engaged in convos with the Texas staff, and his mom likes that he’s open to Texas.
JW: 42%. Billy Bowman-for-Jordan Hudson, straight up? I’ll take it.
RB Jamarion Miller, Tyler Legacy (Tyler, TX)
Biggest competition: OU and Alabama
EN: 40%. My read is UT won’t push like it needs to because he’s viewed as redundant to Blue.
GH: 45%. Alabama offer always knocks down the % for a team.
JW: 65%. Texas and Miller remain solid, but curious how long the Horns wait on its second RB take of 2022.
QB Quinn Ewers, Carroll (Southlake, TX) - Ohio State
Biggest competition: Ohio State
EN: 51%. The biggest competition is really within Quinn himself.
GH: Going with Rhett Bomar’s career completion % vs. Texas. 36.4%
JW: One percentage point higher than Eric and Gerry’s. It’ll be the national story of the cycle.
We will add more to this issue, including info on the football team as well as basketball recruiting.

Inside Texas has been pretty adamant that the Ewers recruitment is far from over with Texas. My gut says it’s a 50-50 shot currently from reading the tea leaves.

Bill O'Brien would still be in the NFL if he were half the offensive mind that Sark is. Bama's offense is going to take a big step back next year even with all their 5'star talent.
I think it's the opening Sark needs to win some of these battles. With that said, Bama is still bama and if anyone thought Texas was going to take every 5'star guy and bama have nothing to say about it, well it was a fantacy lad. Saban is going to get his share of great players no matter what.

Especially on defense. Because this is what Saban is. If Obrien cant keep up with the SEC being a scoring conference just like all the others, then we got a shot at some WR and RB and such. In other words, if Obrien runs an offense in a Saban-like manner, they will actually lose some games and not be so attractive.

This team is gonna be a heartache.
Better not invest too much personal attention.
The football team is on a fresh start and we are recruiting well.
Best chance at actually seeing a good team is Women in Volleyball.
And who knows how we match up this year against the West Coast and some of the better Eastern programs.

Slow start for Murphy. His team lost their first game 27-21 in overtime. One of the 3 scores by his team was an interception return. Not much practice or experience , so many opportunities to improve. Couldn't find box scores for game but watched the video highlights. He had two TD passes, at least 2 interceptions, one of which was on the opening drive of overtime, some sacks and at least five delay of game penalties.
I know he is young, inexperienced and very talented, but I hope all of UT's QB hopes aren't riding on him.

Murphy still has a magical arm, but if you don't make good decisions with the ball it's really hard to put that arm to good use. This is what is making me concerned at this time. This kid should transfer to IMG and then we can see wht he can do with that talented arm.

I'm not judging or criticizing . The team, if I read right has not had much practice time . Probably been almost a year and a half since full team practices. I hope he ends up being special. He seems to have a great attitude and of course the magic in his arm. It will be fun and interesting to watch him develop and grow into his leadership role. And yes he is just this year taking over the team. My thoughts are simply that I hope that far down the road that he or any other out of state kid would not be the only QB prospect being pursued for multiple reasons.

My dream is that Thompson has a Heisman level season and leaves early after 1 season. Card takes over and also has a year or two of really good seasons and then our 2022 QB gets the start for a year and leaves for the NFL making way for Archie Manning.
Now that is a dream.

That would make us OU south......It is quite a fantasy. Unfortunately, we seem to always be Cinderella and the clock strikes midnight time and again.
Still, I will root for your scenario all day, every day......especially if it means we become a QB pipeline to the NFL for the next several years.

Recruiting Matters
DL Jaray Bledsoe, Bremond
The recruitment of the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder remains the same as the last few weeks. The first school out of Bledsoe’s mouth is Oklahoma. The first coach relationship out of his mouth when asked is Bo Davis. Nick Saban has had at least two Zoom calls with Bledsoe. Texas A&M is very much in it, and there is some pressure in the community to pick the nearby Aggies. Long way to go in this one but certainly a recruitment worth fighting for.
DE DJ Wesolak, Boonville (MO)
The 6-foot-5, 236-pound defensive end speaks with Sarkisian and Pete Kwiatkowski almost daily. Wesolak is initiating some of those conversations as well, including calling Sarkisian to chat Wednesday. Clemson and Notre Dame continue to be the two schools mentioned the most, but any notion that Wesolak is a lock for Notre Dame shouldn’t be believed at this point. Wesolak won’t go where there is an overload at his position. The Clemson offer is the one IT is following closest right now. Texas A&M is another that is recruiting the Missouri EDGE prospect heavily.
OL Earnest Greene, St. John Bosco (Los Angeles, CA)
While Texas continues to build solid in-state relationships with offensive line talent, it is looking out west as well. At 6-foot-5, 330 pounds, the four-star from California is another example of Sarkisian using his West Coast roots. He didn’t grow up watching college football, rather the NFL. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers.
He’s looking for a school with a good entrepreneurship program because he would like to major in business. Point: Texas.
Coach Andre Coleman actually played with Greene’s dad in the NFL and they’ve built a pretty good relationship with Sark and Kyle Flood while they were at Alabama, and now UT.
He’s eager to visit Austin, and could schedule something sooner than later. He’s looking at a June trip.
WR CJ Williams, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA)
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Williams tells IT he’s scheduling an official visit to Austin in June. That gives the staff just enough time to truly figure out its receiver board.
Basketball Recruiting Matters too
C Felix Okpara, Hamilton Heights Academy (Chattanooga, TN):
The 6-foot-11, 223-pound fast-rising big man has Texas in a lead group that includes Tennessee, Florida and Ohio State. Vanderbilt and Ole Miss were also mentioned. Okpara, who moved to the states from Nigeria in 9th grade, has been on campus at Tennessee and Florida, where former Hamilton Heights Academy players currently play. The Longhorns have a very good shot here because Okpara has studied where the big men have gone, had success and were drafted high. Okpara has studied Jaxson Hayes, Mo Bamba and Jarrett Allen extensively. He also happens to be a BIG Kevin Durant fan per a source very close to the junior big man. Per the source, Texas talks to Okpara on a near daily basis. A Shaka Smart vs. Rick Barnes battle could be brewing for a prospect that will end up ranked in the top 10 overall in 2022.

Texas is sucking ass against ACU.....They had a chance to go up 11 in the 2nd half, only to have a stupid turnover, and then the floodgates opened. They can't make a shot, they might as well be Santa handing out presents with all the turnovers. It is just poor, undisciplined nonsense. They should be up by 15 or more at this point.
