no, they don't control their destiny, not at all
Eagles have to lose another one, Giants have to lose 2 more... both still play the Pats, count those as losses so the Giants still would have to lose another...and their schedule is really easy to end the season. Tank tank tank sell the franchise etc
Now your a Panthers fan?....Cowboys,falcons,back to cowboys and now Panthers lol.......

This. Front 7 is amazing, so the Cowboys have to make sure they keep them all on the team this offseason, they need a chance with a better secondary and healthy Romo. Hardy & McClain are free agents once again, unfortunately.
I'll go down the list of Cowboys' FAs this offseason, in alphabetical order, and their likely futures:
- Mac Bernadeau (OL): is pretty expendable given the OL situation; re-signs for cheap or walks
- Morris Claiborne (DB): GTFOs
- Tyler Clutts (FB/TE): is a decent blocker but very much replaceable; re-signs for cheap or walks
- Jack Crawford (NT): expendable; re-signs for cheap or walks
- Lance Dunbar (RB/WR/KR): this is interesting; given his growth in offense and special teams he'd likely get a pretty decent sized offer from a bad team, but his injury just *might* have spared the Cowboys of losing him due to salary issues.
- Ka'Lail Glaud (LB): Who?
- James Hanna (TE/FB): Is a good blocker, can likely be retained for pretty cheap because he's relatively unknown around the league. If he walks, it's not a big deal.
- Greg Hardy (DE): is priority #1 for re-signing purposes. Baggage greatly lowers his market value which is a true blessing for the Cowboys.
- Nick Hayden (NT): is expendable because of David Irving's progress; re-signs for cheap or walks
- Jeff Heath (DB): is a RFA, but he's not that good, so he re-signs for cheap or walks
- Ronald Leary (OL): is a RFA, may be allowed to walk because Jerruh views him as expendable due to the emergence of Collins. Depends on what offers he gets; never hurts to have depth at OL though.
- Rolando McClain (LB): is priority #2 for re-signing purposes, will likely be retained unless some bad team decides to shell out in spite of his baggage
- Danny McCray: Who? Isn't very good and will likely be gone.
- Jeremy Mincey (DE): is the 4th best edge rusher on the team, so it's unlikely they shell out for a decent backup if someone else makes him a bigger offer. If he can be kept for a similar contract as his current one, keep him.
- Brandon Weeden (QB): GTFOs
- Corey White (DB): isn't great and is likely expendable; will likely re-sign for cheap or walk
- Kyle Wilber (LB): is a career backup; re-signs for cheap or walks
Cliffnotes: re-sign Hardy, McClain as top priorities and must be retained; Dunbar, Leary and Mincey are second priorities such that the Cowboys should attempt to retain them given the right price, but they wouldn't be heartbroken if one or two of them left. In terms of the draft, they should look to draft a top wide receiver (possibly with the high first-round pick), two solid secondary players, and hopefully a running back and a backup quarterback (or trade a mid to lower pick for a promising young backup QB on a team with a stable QB situation). Ultimately, they are a very promising team whose 2015 season was shot down at the beginning by major injuries before it was allowed to develop. The defensive secondary situation, unfortunately, is still a pretty big liability despite Byron Jones's emergence. The Cowboys will get Scandrick back this offseason and look to build around Jones and Scandrick going forward. Claiborne will likely be jettisoned and Carr's contract still hurts, but drafting a corner and a safety early in the draft will go a long way to giving the defensive line the necessary time it takes to rush the passer without them never having the chance to get home due to enemy receivers constantly scorching the secondary in the passing game.

:lol blessing in disguise?
All the Hardy baggage is a blessing in half-disguise because it allows the Cowboys to play chess and back him up under the condition he'll take a long term salary with the Cowboys more in line with his starting peers on the D-front instead of demanding a 7 year 80+ million dollar deal, which the Cowboys likely would be unable or unwilling to afford.

- Mac Bernadeau (OL): GTFO
- Morris Claiborne (DB): DEFINITELY GTFO.. fucking bust
- Tyler Clutts (FB/TE): replaceable
- Jack Crawford (NT): replaceable
- Lance Dunbar (RB/WR/KR): will probably get an offer elsewhere the Cowboys aren't going to want to match
- Ka'Lail Glaud (LB): GTFO
- James Hanna (TE/FB): Replaceable
- Greg Hardy (DE): Not worth keeping if he's going to be a problem
- Nick Hayden (NT): GTFO, need someone who does more than holds his ground
- Jeff Heath (DB): Heath is fucking trash
- Ronald Leary (OL): Solid backup if cheap
- Rolando McClain (LB): His game has taken a dive off a cliff so far this year
- Danny McCray: McCray is a top 3 player on ST.. Keep if cheap again
- Jeremy Mincey (DE): Mincey has been solid, keep for depth if cheap
- Brandon Weeden (QB): Somebody blow this losers head off.. GTFO
- Corey White (DB): GTFO
- Kyle Wilber (LB): GTFO
And coverage ain't gonna be too bad if they can draft a contributor somewhere in the middle of the draft this offseason.. Scandrick and Byron Jones are a solid start, especially Jones being able to play all over the field.
They should let Hardy be the head coach. He's a leader.
Might as well.. he's more alpha than the head coach that's for sure.

:lol That exposes a problem with the training staff.. This has been a long time problem with the Cowboys, two seasons ago they led the league in hamstring injuries.. And yes, Garrett is beyond worthless. I fucking hate seeing his stupid ass fucking red hair and lack of anger on the sidelines.. You're right, all he does is clap. Might as well replace him with Richard Simmons, I'm sure he would be a much better motivational speaker.

We have enough money to keep Hardy, McClain can be retained for cheap, and we can probably keep one of Leary or Dunbar, but the other one is going to get paid elsewhere. Don't know about Mincey yet.

Technically, according to analytics, due to the Giants' and Eagles' remaining schedules and tiebreaker scenarios, Dallas has an 89.2% chance of winning the division if they win out... but that includes wins against the Panthers and in Lambeau against the Packers, as well as in Buffalo (winnable but not easy)... don't think it's possible, tbh.
Dallas' probability of winning the division drops to 44.7% with one loss, and 13.3% with two losses.

This isn't the NBA, NFL teams don't tank. The only way that happens is if it comes straight from the GM that's the starting QB needs to rest or not play the rest of the season, which is rare. Otherwise the coaches try to win every single game. The players couldn't care less about the team's draft position.
The Cowboys won't tank, even though they should. Romo comes back next week and the Cowboys are going to win most of their remaining games. We are barely losing all these close games, and with Romo they will be comfortable victories. Plus, our remaining schedule is pretty easy, especially with Green Bay looking so shitty as of late. Cowboys will finish the season 8-8, 7-9 at worst, and wind up picking somewhere between 10-18 in the draft imo.

I think Packers are vulnerable in Lambeau this season without Jordy/worse offense, so that one is winnable if they don't beat themselves. Gotta have the Carolina win, which is definitely possible since about half of their wins have gone down to the wire. Will be VERY difficult though.

Dallas Cowboys defensive back Byron Jones said he's OK and said he will be ready for Thursday's Thanksgiving game against the Carolina Panthers.
Jones suffered an apparent ankle injury near the end of Sunday's win over the Miami Dolphins.
It was a rough day for the rookie Jones, who is getting more time at cornerback with Morris Claiborne out because of injury.
Jones was burned on a few big throws by Miami.

If Jerry knows what's good for him, we'll tank the rest of the way and draft a QB with our top 3 pick. It's time to start planning for life after Romo, even if he does play 2 more years.
But knowing boy-scout Jason Garrett, he probably thinks we still have a shot at winning the division and he'll coach his ass off, win a meaningless game or two, and completely screw up our draft position.

Yes, especially considering on the odd chance they do win the division they're going to get pummeled by a half billion in Carolina even if they make it past the wild card round. Also, winning the division means playing the Panthers and Cardinals next season while the other division rivals face lesser non-division conference opponents.

Kaepernick is 28, beat A-Rod twice in the playoffs (including at Lambeau), almost led one of the best SB comebacks ever, almost made it in again the next year... he's had a rough go this season (terrible team around him) but behind the Cowboys offensive line he could be elite again. The guy is 6'4", runs like a gazelle, breaks tackles, and passes in and out of the pocket very well as long as he has a decent offense (and coach) around him. Would take over Manziel, who probably is too young to win a super bowl before Jerruh dies or gets Alzheimer's.

you're 73 years old and have a huge setup cost on a building that hasn't been recovered yet. Can't draft a rookie QB and sit through 5 years of Browns-esque non-playoff contention. The best QBs are those like Rodgers, Romo, Warner, even Favre who go through adversity early while learning on the NFL level for several years from the sidelines and in practice rather than being thrust straight onto the football field at a tender age. It seems like those that start in the NFL full time at age 20, 21 just don't really make it big time

Not saying Manziel can, cause we haven't seen nearly enough to make an assessment on him yet, but I do know that Kaepernick consistently has accuracy issues and that's why he has struggled so much as of late (along with being on a crap team w crap talent this year). Except for the atrocities in the red zone, the offense was better tonight than what the media will give them credit for. They had a good drive going with the running game on the first drive of the second half until Murray lost a fumble, then a very good one (in Washington territory) early in the 4th until Devin Street (he sucks) lost a fumble. If it weren't for the turnovers and had they at least scored one of the red zone touchdowns when they had 2nd & 3, 3rd & 1 etc., Cowboys would have likely scored 20+ and won a lot more handily than they did. Defense was very good except on the last drive, but it's hard to keep a desperate team out of the endzone like that when you spot them a short field instead of wisely kicking a touchback.

Eagles would win it if they finish 4-2 in the division imo due to 5th tiebreaker (strength of victory) because they're the only team of the four to beat the Patriots. Cowboys beating the Packers won't vault them in that regard much because the Packers will then be at least a 6 loss team. Giants pretty much lose every tiebreaker at this point.

Yes, if they play offense like they did in the 2nd half and don't fumble. The defense is good
Defense is ranked 5th in the NFL, while the offense is ranked 28th. I'll be willing to give a million bucks to anyone who predicted (before the season started) that the offense would be bottom 5 AND the defense top 5, tbh.

I say that, without real confidence that the Cowboys defense won't let Green Bay out of the bag by letting Rodgers convert on 3rd & 19 or something really shitty like that en route to a key touchdown drive in the fourth quarter. Marinelli's strategy is generally "build a wall with 5 or 6 linebackers 10-12 yards out and only rush 3 hoping the QB will get rid of it quickly for a short to medium gain" -- well that works on mediocre QBs like Tannehill and Cousins but not necessarily on elite ones like Newton or Rodgers.

For all the talk about the QBs, myriad injuries, Dez dropsies, loss of Murray, Williams' sudden inability to catch, off the field issues with a few guys, inconsistent pass rush and mediocre secondary... as it turns out, the REAL problem that ultimately did in the 2015 Cowboys season was actually:
(*** drum roll ***)
(*** drum roll ***)
(*** drum roll ***)
The five guys [burgers and fries] up front, that had been so dominant a year ago, that had been consistently ranked as the #1 or #2 offensive line all spring, summer, and preseason...
... have inexplicably sucked this year. They have certainly not played nearly up to their expectations, and it's gone criminally under the radar.
More analysis:
- The Cowboys lead the league in false start penalties on the offensive line, and are worst in the league in 3rd & 2 or less conversions (almost all of which have been running plays for the Cowboys that generally get snuffed out by opposing defensive line armadas). This is simply unacceptable for any offensive line that considers itself elite.
- For all practical purposes, the Cowboys' offensive line has been about league average this season. This is horrendous, considering they have the most talented unit in the league with very solid backups. While they are near the top of the league in time of possession per game, a lot of that has to do with having the slowest pace in the league where the clock is ubiquitously run down to 3, 2, 1 seconds (it's pretty amazing how they avoid delay of game penalties, but it seems as if Linehan and Garrett have it down to a 'T' there). They have been about average to slightly above average at pass protection, but it is simply nothing like last year when Romo consistently was afforded 5, 6, 7, 8, even 9 seconds in or near the pocket without facing serious trouble. In terms of rushing offense, their inconsistency has been on full display all year. They'll get some yardage, often in big chunks, but then they'll go through stretches where enemy D-lines will dominate them and stampede the Cowboy backs for minimal gains to losses. Today, McFadden had two great runs, but those were all McFadden after the line gave him the initial boost to get him running into the secondary. The O-line dominated on the Cowboys' only scoring drive, but proceeded to get dominated for the next several possessions in which the defense gave the Cowboys many opportunities to tie the game with a score on the other end.
- As far as shoring up this offensive line, I think the line needs to regain focus and confidence over the offseason and I would like a slight personnel tweak: La'el Collins is powerful and best suited as a tackle, so he should be the RT, while Ronald Leary (if we re-sign him for cheap) is probably the right man for the LG position, as he was part of the legendary 2014 offensive line that saw him consistently holding off JJ Watt in the Houston game last year. His early injury provided an opportunity for Collins that Collins made the most of, but Leary is a starting-quality offensive lineman with brute strength and good experience in an elite offensive line. Doug FalseStartForFree, on the other hand, needs to be demoted to backup or cut. The guy has never learned to cut down on penalties, and has certainly reverted back to his old form in the late 2000s/early 2010s when Romo would take a ton of sacks from the right defensive end position. The Cowboys should also give Chaz Green a look at guard and tackle positions, perhaps preserving the health of the cornerstone guys like Smith/Freddy/Martin and seeing what they've got in this third round guy. Hell, give Bernadeau some burn in there at center since he's not coming back next year.
- One last thing: let's not forget that it was none other than the Cowboys' offensive line that cost Tony Romo his left collarbone TWICE in one season! He wasn't exactly running or going down on his own, people. The type of hits he got during his 3-¼ games he was out there, the pressures leading to 7 picks including 3 pick sixes and only 5 touchdowns didn't happen last year because the offensive line actually cared last year. It's time to step it up and re-learn how to dominate the line of scrimmage... this offseason. It's time to step the f*** up, boys.

The Cowboys will be back next year and should win the NFC East going away barring a second straight snakebitten year (unlikely). Even without Romo, they've teased us all season long, losing games they definitely should have won, getting into the red zone frequently and then settling for FG's and turnovers most of the time. The defense has had historically poor luck at coming up with takeaways; they went from 2nd best in the NFL to 32nd (dead worst) in one year, this is weird and should prove to be a fluke. When you are DEAD LAST in the NFL in all 3 of the following categories: takeaways, 3rd and 1 conversions, and red zone conversions, and still managing to stay in ball games until nearly the end, you know you have potential but it just isn't your year. They have most of the right pieces but definitely need to shore things up and improve in the secondary in the draft.

Cowboys 2015 Top 5 Draft Pick Scenario:
- Cowboys MUST lose out; AND
- One of Ravens or Chargers must win a game
// (Lions and Niners probably have a tougher schedule due to good division so they'll get a worse pick if tied with Cowboys; besides which, they play each other)
OR
- One of Titans or Browns must win two games
Cowboys 2015 Playoff Scenario:
[HINT: this one is more complicated (by far)]
- Cowboys MUST win out; AND
- Giants MUST lose to Panthers in Week 15 (likely); AND
- Eagles MUST lose to Cardinals in Week 15 (likely); AND
{ IF
Redskins beat Bills in Week 15
THEN
Eagles MUST beat Redskins in Week 16; AND
Giants MUST lose to Vikings in Week 16; AND
Giants MUST beat Eagles in Week 17
// In this scenario, Giants would be going into Week 17 mathematically eliminated from the playoff. Would Tom Coughlin care to screw over the Eagles and try to get a win anyway, even if it meant the Redskins or Cowboys getting in?
{ ELSE IF
- Redskins lose to Bills in Week 15
THEN
{ IF Redskins beat Eagles in Week 16
// This would certainly be the best possible scenario for the Cowboys
THEN
{ IF Giants beat Vikings in Week 16
THEN Eagles must beat Giants in Week 17
{ ELSE IF Giants lose to Vikings in Week 16
THEN
Cowboys control own destiny. // Result of Week 17 Eagles/Giants game no longer matters provided Cowboys win out
}}}
{ IF Eagles beat Redskins in Week 16
THEN
Giants MUST lose to Vikings in Week 16; AND
Giants MUST beat Eagles in Week 17
}}}

Cliffnotes on that lengthy program:
- Cowboys are still in the hunt for both a playoff birth and a top 5 pick; a Week 15 win virtually eliminates them from a Top 5 pick, while a Week 15 loss virtually eliminates them from a playoff birth
- If the Cowboys win on Saturday, they can rest easy knowing the Giants and Eagles will likely take losses on Sunday. The Redskins, however, are at home playing the erratic Bills. If the Redskins win, the Cowboys' hopes are not dead, but they will then need the Eagles to beat the Redskins in Week 16 (at home) AND for the Giants to beat the Eagles in Week 17 (also at home).
- If the Cowboys win out and all 3 division rivals lose on Sunday, the only things that need to happen are another Eagles loss and another Giants loss. The Eagles are playing at home against the Redskins; assuming the Redskins lost on Sunday, they will have continued their streak of win, lose, win, lose, etc. so they might get a road win in Philly to continue the trend? A Philly loss to Washington paired with a New York loss up in cold Minnesota (pretty good chance of that) gives the Cowboys the opportunity to beat the Redskins in Week 17 and then book AT&T Stadium for a January 10th home playoff game regardless of the Eagles/Giants outcome that day. However, a Philly victory over Washington paired with a Giants win in Minnesota will mathematically eliminate both the Cowboys AND the Redskins, making the Week 17 PHI/NYG matchup an epic showdown for the division. Backtracking, if the Eagles do win against the Redskins in Week 16 and the Giants lose in Minnesota, the Giants will be mathematically eliminated but will need to beat Philly in Week 17 for the Cowboys to get in.
UNT Eagles 2016
12-16-2015, 06:35 PM
overall, given the scenarios I give the Cowboys about a 50/50 shot of winning the division if they win out, and about a 70/30 shot of getting a top 5 pick if they lose out (three games left).
There is one more scenario; if the Giants do beat Carolina (unlikely) the Eagles will need to lose out and the Giants will need to lose to the Vikings and then beat the Eagles.
UNT Eagles 2016

Cowboys know they are officially eliminated with a loss so I think you see a lot of going for it on 4th & 1, 4th & 2, etc. Even in their own territory, especially if they fall behind or it's a high scoring game. Can't be conservative with backs officially against the wall.

Barring unusual circumstances, Cowboys schedule next year will most certainly be:
Eagles/Redskins/Giants 2x;
Home vs Lions
Away @ Packers // Cowboys will be extremely determined not to lose this one 3 times in a row
Home vs Bears
Away @ Vikings;
Home vs Bengals
Away @ Browns
Home vs Ravens
Away @ Steelers;
Home vs Saints, Falcons or Bucs
Away @ 49ers;
Should be a MUCH more favorable schedule. Excellent D getting even better, and really not having Romo this year ultimately proved the difference between 4–10 and 10–4 due to all the close game.

Casper the Friendly Ghost still starting at 1-Tech DT? Check.
Barely Cares Church still starting at SS? Check.
Wasting our premium pick on one of the two mediocre QBs while Romo is still elite is SO FUCKING STUPID. Any casual fans supporting this deserve to root for the Titans or something. Our BIGGEST need, as currently constructed, is addressing the fact that our elite pass rushers struggle to find the quarterback because they're constantly going 3 on 5 to traverse a huge pocket because we have a complete zero at 1-Tech who isn't even a 1-Tech and definitely is too weak to be in the NFL. I think Ashawn Robinson, the Alabama Teddy Bear, is that guy in the first round (particularly if we re-sign Hardy) -- but he probably won't go in the top 12-14 or so, so we trade down for their 1st and 2nd to a quarterback needy team.
Our SECOND BIGGEST need is strong safety, since Byron Jones is very good at FS but that other guy is just atrocious and blows more tackles than a zombie. Jayron Kearse is that guy in the 2nd round. I see him being the next Kam Chancellor or better at that 6-4 frame (but still very quick and smart and a huge legacy). Then, we can shore up the running back position. I think we can trade down to some quarterback needy team in the 1st, so we get their 2nd and ideally we're able to get both Kearse and Derrick Henry. McFadden and Henry = the 2014 running boys are back in town. Finally, we can draft a project QB with size and an arm in the 3rd round, draft backups including a WR in the later rounds, maybe a backup LB late, and call it a draft.

NEWSFLASH: The last time Dallas drafted a DT with a top 5 pick was Russell Maryland 24 fucking years ago asswipe. We had the opportunity to draft Sharrif Floyd a few years back. We could have drafted JJ fucking Watt and we passed (although T Smith is arguably the best LT in the game so it's moot). If Cassell or Moore are our backups, we're fuck ed again when (not if) Romo goes down.
We just drafted Byron Jones in the first round. He'll be our FS with JJ Wilcox and Church battling it out for SS spot - for better or worse. That Kearse dude sounds good, but I highly doubt Jerry drafts him.
We are 12th in total yards defense and 5th in pass defense. Jerry will point to those stats to justify not making too big of a shakeup to our defense. We were not that bad. It was our putrid Romo-less offense that doomed us.

I wouldn't mind getting Treadwell to be our #2 WR if he's available, provided we can still get a quality DT to push back the line, make QBs move around and command double teams (even if he's not a sack machine) because that will allow Hardy, Lawrence, Crawford et al. to actually get to the quarterback instead of *almost* getting there and *almost* stopping big conversions. Draft a QB early next year, all in it to win it this coming year.
Trade down 5-8 spots to get the extra 2nd rounder... draft 3 out of 4 of: WR, 1 tech DT, SS and RB in the first 2 rounds. Fill the 4th hole in free agency. There you have it. Maybe go after the 4th hole or a project QB in the 3rd or 4th rounder, or in the 3rd round we can go CB or even BPA. We have a lot of good options.
The worst option, though, is to waste our premium pick on a guy like Goff or Lynch whose ceiling is the next Tannehill or Bradford.
The second worst option is to let Hardy go and spend our premium draft pick on Joey Bosa, which won't allow us to fill enough holes.
The third worst option is to let McClain go and spend our premium draft pick on Myles Jack... this is similar to the second option.
The fourth worst option is to stunt Terrance Mitchell's growth by drafting an overrated DB like Hargreaves or Ramsey with our premium pick.
I'm not even counting drafting OL as an option because that would be downright retarded.
We must re-sign Hardy, McClain, Dunbar and a few other guys and commit to Terrance Mitchell. I think he can be a legit #2 CB for a long time... he makes a lot of plays, has a knack for ball-hawking, and is excellent in coverage against #2 and #3 receivers. He's locked with us for cheap for the next 2 years, but I think it might be wise to lock him up with a 6 year/18 million deal, maybe a little less but either way it's a steal considering his talent versus the exorbitant price it will take to retain him once he breaks out next year.
We MUST shore up 1 tech DT (Hayden is a sissy), 2nd WR, strong safety, and 2nd/young running back. These are the priorities, as well as continuing to develop Mitchell. I think Jerry has a lot of options this offseason for bringing in a young backup QB for cheap with significant upside in free agency, so I don't think we'll need to draft one this year.

McFadden's unforced fumble in the endzone was a bizarre fluke that will never happen again, but I'll take it instead of winning that game and ruining the draft stock. TD's? LOL... Murray actually had a decent number of TD's but he was one of the worst RB's in the league this season.
He was godawful in short yardage situations because opponents knew 100% that we were going to run because no way in hell we were going to trust our shitty backup QB to convert it in the passing game. Open that option up again with Romo and McFadden sees consistent success on 3rd & 1's and the like next year.

Yeah, Murray played in a terrible system for him. Pretty much everyone had no idea why Kelly signed him to that deal. McFadden is also getting up in years, has a long injury history, and I will be fucking pissed if we are content with him this offseason. I think any reasonable fan would be.

Murray is an average RB at best who had a great contract year on a shit ton of carries and laughed off the loss in Green Bay all the way to the bank.
McFadden is also on a contract year and is looking for his last big payday before he falls out of the league due to old age. I can see him having a 2014 Murray like year next year
hell, the Patriots' new bell cow for the 2015 playoffs is 32.

That's why I've been lobby to pick up Derrick Henry in the 2nd round... we can probably get 2 early second round picks (ours and the one we traded for) if we trade down to a QB needy team like the Niners. We can get Treadwell and then shore up RB and one of DT/SS.

Biggest needs:
1. Quarterback. Even if it's not in the first round, which I don't think it will be, this team HAS to get a young QB to start developing. Romo is crazy injury prone these days and is clearly breaking down and not reliable anymore, and Kellen Moore is certainly not the answer. I fully expect Jerry to acquire Johnny Manziel aka Billy Vegas if/when he's released by the Browns or via a trade for a late draft pick (which I completely disagree with, but whatever. Jerry's an idiot face it comes to being a GM).
2. 1-Tech Defensive Tackle. Been a huge need for this team for a couple seasons now. No more bullshittting, we need a difference maker at the position.
3. DE - Only if Hardy is not re-signed, which it's looking like he will not be. Our depth takes a huge hit if/when he leaves. An injury to D-Law or Gregory would leave us riddled at the position.
4. Strong Safety - Need a starting-caliber SS badly. Church and Wilcox are borderline horrendous in coverage and idk if I can take another season of watching them give up easy TD's over and over. Wilcox is a 3rd string SS at best.
5. Cornerback - Good chance Carr is released and Claiborne is a free agent, although I've read he wants to stay in Dallas and we want him back so a good chance he is retained. We need a young CB badly to replace Carr.
6. Running Back - This probably belongs higher on the list, but I don't think the Cowboys will take a RB until the 3rd or 4th round. Not Jerry's style anymore. Plus the 2017 RB class is going to be stacked so I think they take a solid RB this year to eventually replace McFadden and then a franchise back next year.
7. Linebacker - This all hinges on whether or not we bring back McClain. If we do, it's not a pressing need. If we don't, it becomes one, especially with Sean Lee's durability issues.

We could also really use some speed at the #2 WR position who can stretch the field and take the top off of a defense, as we don't have anyone on the roster who can do that. But I think we wait another year to use a high pick on a WR unless one really highly rated on our board at our pick in the 2nd round, which I doubt.

Quarterback isn't #1, at least not in the draft. Either RG3 or Billy Vegas, prefer the former but would take either for cheap. Need to draft to win now, though. Trade down to #7, take Treadwell, get the extra 2nd... get a very good DT, RB and SS before anything else. DE isn't as important provided we keep Hardy.

Yea I didn't mean we need a QB in the 1st-Round of the draft, but we definitely need a young QB/backup next year. It's past due. And I doubt San Fran would trade a 2nd to move up 3 spots. Maybe if Goff is on the board still but doubtful.

If Lynch is on the board.
If they don't want him, we can trade down to pick 12 or 13, both those teams need a QB.

Worst decision we can make. The team has a chance to win now and you want to draft the next Matt Flynn or Sam Bradford?

He ain't coming back.. They said all the "right" things regarding Hardy this season, but they were clearly just desperate for some sacks.. I'm sure everyone there is ready to see that retard move on
