Still...they were without Dez at 100%. And their backup QBs were beyond garbage. This season, they have upgrades at RB and WR with healthy Dez. And Dak so far looks much better than anything they threw out last year. Honestly, if they suck and can get another high pick, that's OK too.

And no Murray either.
Football is a young man's game. Romo's body has broken down and his athletic ability is not nearly what is was 5-6 years ago. It's probably time to transition to a new guy.
At least they had the good fortune to get prescott. It looks like he has a lot to offer. We're gonna find out sooner rather than later.
The Cowboy's offense is now young, talented, AND very athletic. Witten and free are the only old guys out there now.

It really is pathetic.. All my Cowboy fan friends hate that I always have a negative attitude toward the Cowboys when we're watching the game, but god damn what the fuck are we supposed to do? Every year we gotta base our hopes on this faggot either being healthy or not making retarded mistakes when he is. Fuck Romo. I strangely think Dak is an upgrade over Romo. Not only is he a heck of a runner, he's proven he can throw short, intermediate and deep ball throws on point and on time; he's shown he's not afraid to throw deep even on early downs; he's shown the ability to pass both from the pocket and scrambling; he's shown he can handle pressure from the best D in the NFL and make the smart, responsible throw to get an easy field goal in a well executed 2 minute drill. If it weren't for Bailey's odd miss, he would have beaten Russell Wilson, mano-y-mano, and the Seahawks' first stringers, 13-10, even WITHOUT Dez and only one drive of Zeke.
I still say 12–4 and and a top 4 seed in the playoffs this year, with no less than one playoff victory, and possibly more. This is assuming Romo doesn't come back to the field. I see a taller Russell Wilson in Dak.

He airmailed pretty much all deep/intermediate balls in that clip, looks flat-footed, stares down his receivers, and the one touchdown pass was woefully underthrown (off back foot). Witten made an incredible play to not only avoid an easy turnover, but also score. In that entire clip he looked at more than 2 reads maybe once. He's a rookie, so it's a fair point not to expect all the mechanics to be sharp right away, but--other than a quick release--what's the cause of this semen cloud? I'll eat crow if I'm wrong, but I see flash-in-the-pan written all over him. He'll be a victim of the dreaded "game film" after a year or less.

The Seattle game was his worst game by far despite solid stats in limited action against the best defense in the league without his top 5 NFL receiver. And his decision making was excellent, but his throwing was a bit off on a couple of the deep balls (they could have been caught honestly, but Beasley isn't really a deep receiver, and Williams struggles with contested deep balls as well)... anything to Dez one-on-one is always going to be hard on any defense if Dez is healthy unlike last year. Out of the smaller fast guys, Dunbar is the best deep receiver by far, he just has a hard time staying healthy.
For instance, Aaron Rodgers didn't do better against that same defense in the NFCCG a couple years back. And Dak's decision making was better than Rodgers' that game, but some of the throws were a bit off and the receivers were off.
The Packers don't have a Zeke Elliott to maul the best strong safety in the league, either. Lacy is just too fat.
I'm excited as fuck for 9/11 and Dak to crush the Giants' defense on opening night, something Romo couldn't do until the last half of the 4th quarter last year.

The Dallas defense for the most part is abysmal. And, the highest draft pick spent on it will not suit-up this season. The amount of improvement needed in order for this team to remain relevant isn't possible. Granted, they are in the NFC east. But the two most threatening teams have high-end offenses even though Cousins has to do more proving to the league. But off-the-bat both teams are in better positions at the QB position. In your first six you have three teams that are going to put points on the board no matter what (NYG/GB/WASH). One team that is a better overall team, and more stable offensively in the Bengals. And two teams that are in disarray in SF and CHI. While it is possible to win three games in here I just don't see it. I say the record is 2-4 before the bye. Now, you have two very winnable games after the bye, before going into a five game stretch that is the toughest on this weak schedule. And, you pretty much will have to win the division to make the playoffs, there will be a lot of ground to make up. Not saying it can't happen, I just don't see it.

Way too pessimistic... lol. NYG will not come in here and win first game of the season. WAS away is questionable but I have us winning there too. The Bungles won't be good and are nowhere in our league offensively... lol. Their QB is inconsistent trash, running game isn't great, OL isn't good, TE isn't that good, and they have one good receiver. I have us beating the Bungles home, but it may be close. I have the Bungles going 8-8 due to regressing to the mean, schedule, and Steelers/Ravens being better.
And you're way too pessimistic about our defense and way underestimating Marinelli and the guys we have. Sure, we won't be Seahawks or Broncos amazing, but I have us in the 10-15 range (yardage) and top 10 (takeaways) given our coaching and who we have. This isn't last year's squad who had to defend the run and pass all game and wore out due to our lack of offensive mobility.
People all called our defense "abysmal" and "collegiate" prior to the start of the 2014 season, and we finished middling, even with no pass rush, no Sean Lee, much worse DT corps, and no Claiborne.

No it's not abysmal. Our coaches don't play the starters for 2 and a half quarters in a preseason game. All hands on deck, we have a solid front 7 with an above average back field.

You were dead last in turnovers generated with a total of 11. That's an average of less than .7 per game. Horrendous. While your total defense in regards to yards per game were in the middle of the pack. Perhaps abysmal was an exaggeration, but you were quite bad cumulatively. You beat the Giants by one point with Romo last year. While you did beat the skins early last season, it wasn't the same team you saw at the end of last season. Look I'm not saying you guys can't hold serve the first six, I'm just saying it's more than likely not feasible. Atlanta and N.O are offensive minded teams that have no defenses yet they beat you by one score. It's not off-base to say that isn't likely given the state of your defense.

I don't think they will be great, but they should be improved by a decent margin. At least we're not starting Nick Hayden at DT this year. He isn't bad to spell people for a few plays, but Collins and Thornton should be a pretty good upgrade up front against the run. DE is way more of a question mark until DeLawrence gets back, but they have more bodies this year to rotate in and out.

Please quit citing last year as a barometer for the 2016 Cowboys season -- it's going to be night and day, if you can't see that you honestly need your eyes checked. The differences will be many; a tremendously improved running game (could be the best in the league), a healthy Dez, Butler and Dunbar back... it's going to be incredible.
Last year... Last year... we were the worst team in turnovers because our offense didn't give us opportunities to force other teams to speed up their offense and pass the ball. The other team was always even or ahead, and they were winning the field position game, so they were able to wear us down with their running games by the second half and we didn't have anyone effective behind McFadden on the other side of the ball to do that to them.
Last year is a horrid barometer for the Cowboys this year. People forget that it wasn't just Romo out (and we trotted out 3 inaccurate, immobile white stiffs and not Dak) it was the lack of a superstar or depth in the running game, Dez injured and/or out the whole season, Butler and Dunbar out... but most importantly the running game and Dez. Even Romo struggled mightily with a 30% Dez and a crappy running game (Miami, Thanksgiving vs Carolina, etc)
Last year is a TERRIBLE gauge for this season for the Cowboys... 2014 is much more analogous on offense given our RB/WR situation and schedule.

Last year, we didn't have the guy who normally slows down OBJ tremendously, but that's minor compared to our DT situation we vastly improved, trotting out Randle as our primary back who couldn't break a tackle and wasn't that fast, Dez breaking his foot in the first quarter (IIRC)... a couple bizarre fluke turnovers before the half for us... some weird calls that went against us early... etc.
We win that game by an average of 2 touchdowns if we played it 10 times over.
Atlanta and NO beat a white failure baseball player stiff who can't run, move, read defenses, or improvise, with nobody to throw to. Congrats to them.

Pretty abysmal when you have a hole instead of a nose tackle and 2 guys on the defense who only cared when they wanted to. Thankfully, all 3 are gone and replaced, Thornton and Terrell McClain are legit.

Turnover wise we may be top 5 on defense considering our offense, like in 2014 we had very little established talent outside of Scandrick and Crawford on the defense, but we finished a very strong #2 in takeaways (one behind Houston's #1, IIRC) because our offense generated a ton of points which forced opponents to panic and throw the ball a lot more than they should.

No. Our DT corps is too awesome. DEs are the only worrisome thing, at least for the first 4 games.
As long as we are smart and start Durant at MLB instead of Hitchens (worked well early in the Seattle game) we will be fine. Hitchens is a good SLB and backup, but Nzeocha and Wilber are better blitzers anyway.
Don't forget that in our most successful season in the era (12–4) we had a running game that was dominant but not as good as this year's, but that was the key to our success and forcing turnovers on the other end. It wasn't our pass rush; we never had one. We didn't have Lee or Claiborne, either. We did have Scandrick.
Tell me. Would you rather take:
- Selvie/Guy off the street - Hayden/Brent - Crawford/Brent - Mincey/Guy off the street -
-OR-
- Irving/JCrawford - McClain/Thornton - Crawford/Collins - Mayowa/Tapper ????? With our starting DEs coming back in week 5.
We started Mincey and Selvie in 2014 until washed-up Spencer and rookie Lawrence came back 2/3 of the way through the season. That's considerably worse than we have it right now at DE.
We'll be fine, especially in the middle. The 3rd quarter of the Seattle game, throw that in the garbage, that was Coe and our 4th string 3-tech DT getting eaten alive by the Seattle 1st string O-line. Those bottom feeders won't make the team.

What do you think they will do at backup behind Dak?

Become a smarter Cowboys fan: How to identify their defenses
By Bob Sturm (http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/author/bob-sturm), Special contributor Contact Bob Sturmon Twitter:@SportsSturm (https://twitter.com/SportsSturm)
Over the summer, I took on the project to study the Cowboys defensive coverages by going through all of the 2015 games and charting it to the best of my ability. Now, this is an ambitious project since there are about 1,000 defensive snaps and it requires a fair amount of detective work to try to figure out exactly what they are doing.
Now, ask any player or coach, and they will confirm to you that there are dozens of different coverages. In fact, anyone who has played Madden knows that there are a dozen ways to play each coverage. If you line up in "Cover 1", you can actually offer many variations to try to keep an offense off balance.
I will not pretend to be able to offer a great understanding on this to the level of a normal football coach, because that would be impossible given that I am just a radio guy and part-time blogger. But, I wished to be able to increase my understanding to at least a basic level over the summer and now I wish to pass that along to you. We will keep it simple, so as not to lose our audience here. But, I would like to - for one morning - try to familiarize those who are interested in what the basic coverages that the Cowboys run would be. And how often they run them.
Please understand that this is my scorecard and while it may not be 100% accurate (if a QB can't always identify the coverages he sees, you shouldn't expect that I can), it is my best effort. I believe these numbers to be very close to the truth.
Here are the results of identifying the coverages (on pass plays only) from 2015.
http://i66.tinypic.com/16anzn5.jpg
As you can see above, despite Rod Marinelli being called a Cover-2 or Tampa-2 coach, I would attempt to verify that the Cowboys ran Cover 2 just 146 times (25%) out of a total of 576 passes. The Tampa-2 variation (which is a Cover 2 subcategory) was run less than 25 times all year. So, next time someone in the National Media identifies Marinelli as a Tampa-2 guy, feel free to change the channel. They aren't watching the Cowboys play enough to consider their opinions.
I wanted to show you a still photo to replicate what the players see on the sideline. They don't get moving video. They get 2 photos (from 2 angles (sideline and end zone), so technically 4 photos) from each play. One is taken at the snap and one is taken about 1-2 seconds into the play. This is how they see coverages. So, I showed you the still from the sideline view to show each coverage.
COVER 1
They ran Cover 1 (and its many variations) about 47% of the time. That was easily the coverage they ran the most as the season went along. I found this interesting because I know they wanted to do more of that, but once Orlando Scandrick was lost in training camp, I expected to see it far less.
Below is a look at Cover 1.
You can identify it from seeing a single-high safety combined with man-to-man coverage underneath.
Now, Cover 1 is man coverage, but there is an extra man available to use as well. This man, in the picture above, is Sean Lee. He stands on the 15-yard line and is playing at a shallow depth to either spy or act as a robber on an underneath coverage. As you can see, everyone else is locked in man and then your single-high safety patrols deep to make sure nothing causes trouble down the field.
I would call this the default Cowboys coverage.
https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UGNf3JWqiUA/V8WJ9fLEL8I/AAAAAAAAJf8/sqvr5kFX0nkgHmlzqpDdm-eICMXMN2n1QCLcB/s640/1Robber.gif (https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UGNf3JWqiUA/V8WJ9fLEL8I/AAAAAAAAJf8/sqvr5kFX0nkgHmlzqpDdm-eICMXMN2n1QCLcB/s1600/1Robber.gif)
Of course, the issues it runs into will be when you don't have guys who cover well in 1-on-1 situations, mismatches, and the dreaded rub-routes or pick plays. Veteran teams with veteran QBs love seeing you in Cover 1, but it does make sure that targets don't get much space.
COVER 3
The next most frequent coverage is Cover 3. This is the Seattle coverage that has taken over the NFL as Cover 2 has gone down in its use. In fact, I have talked to many Cowboys operatives that have often said that this is the defense they were attempting to pattern themselves after from an Xs and Os standpoint. The Seattle Cover 3 is run all over the league now, and it is a zone coverage with the corners forcing their threats into the single-high safety by generally playing outside leverage.
The other thing you are looking for is to see the shallow defenders playing a 4-across zone underneath all with their eyes on the QB. This is usually the 3 linebackers and the other safety. By the way, the Cowboys often run Cover-3 from a Cover-2 shell, which means that they look like Cover 2 at the snap, only to have one safety move to center field high while the other races down to join the linebackers.
This defense deploys eight men to stop the run but also can adjust to drop seven into coverage and can allow all sorts of options for a coordinator to play aggressive defense without a whole lot of weaknesses exposed.
QBs do like to work the sidelines behind the first line of defenders to attack this, but otherwise, they often check down and now the defense flies to the balls in front of them in packs.
https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JRJ9v-o6zk0/V8WJ9U4wrHI/AAAAAAAAJgA/mlLF1O-R79wn91lkzb50hfzabGZlV1jOwCLcB/s640/Cover%2B3.gif (https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JRJ9v-o6zk0/V8WJ9U4wrHI/AAAAAAAAJgA/mlLF1O-R79wn91lkzb50hfzabGZlV1jOwCLcB/s1600/Cover%2B3.gif)
The biggest issue with this coverage is if you don't have Richard Sherman (a corner who can play man concepts while playing zone) and Earl Thomas (the industry leader at FS). It requires a real solid centerfield safety and the Cowboys are hoping Byron Jones is now that guy. Because, if you have a safety that plays poor angles and always gets there late, big plays happen.
COVER 2
That leaves Cover 2 for most of the remainder (25%). They are pretty much just in these three coverages and this is more of the "let's be careful" coverage. You will see it on most 3rd and long situations and in most 2-min drill situations. When the Cowboys are just trying to survive a situation, chances are they are in a Cover 2 or even a deep Cover 2 that almost becomes a Cover 4. Both of those are zone coverages that intend to flood the deep areas with so many defenders that you will see no choice but to accept the check down targets and therefore limit your gains and eat more of the clock.
Again, see what will become a 3-underneath, 4-deep type coverage as the corners carry their guys deep and try not to allow any window (the Cover 2 beaters) to the deep sideline - beyond the corner but in front of the safety. Cover 3 is 4-underneath and 3-deep. This is the opposite.
Of course, you can beat a Cover 2 in front of the safeties.
https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tphMqE4T8rg/V8WKA8jaDfI/AAAAAAAAJgI/hruvlV_kdqoNGCUFFFeKi4tkFJkzVofqwCLcB/s640/Cover2.gif (https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tphMqE4T8rg/V8WKA8jaDfI/AAAAAAAAJgI/hruvlV_kdqoNGCUFFFeKi4tkFJkzVofqwCLcB/s1600/Cover2.gif)
They ran this a lot, but not a lot on 1st or 2nd downs. Although, they did show a Cover 2 shell a lot. I suggest that the opponents saw that this was largely a bluff, though.
2-MAN
This Coverage was run in the first 4 weeks some and then pretty much disappeared. It is 2 safeties high and man coverage underneath. We saw it quite a bit in Week 3.
And then, for reasons I don't totally know, they stopped running it. I don't remember them being bad at it, they just went in another direction.
https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-F7Mw1DhKJdI/V8WJ9f3A3qI/AAAAAAAAJf4/5O0nt-CezvUuzoqjD_jJVB1OZMJ93IJxQCLcB/s640/2Man.gif (https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-F7Mw1DhKJdI/V8WJ9f3A3qI/AAAAAAAAJf4/5O0nt-CezvUuzoqjD_jJVB1OZMJ93IJxQCLcB/s1600/2Man.gif)
As you can see, it is very much the same as Cover 1, except both safeties are deep. The Cowboys run Cover 1 with a safety deep and a middle linebacker shallow to take away underneath things, spy the QB, and even blitz.
Here is the coverage breakdown by downs:
http://i68.tinypic.com/t8mcs0.jpgBeyond those four coverages, they ran a handful of other looks here and there, but this is the majority of what they do.
I hope this helps. Leave any follow up questions below.

But if he gets suspended again during the season AFTER he's done serving his current 4 game suspension, OR anytime in the next 3 offseasons or regular seasons, he will be subject to the 10 game suspension or perhaps even the season-long suspension because his 10 game suspension got bypassed.

Obviously Dak is comfortable with the short over the middle throws, they need to get Dez in motion and run some crossing routes. He's constantly running out routes and fades in the redzone

Man it seemed like Dak had all the time in the world to survey his options. NYG did a better job against the run than I initially thought they would. Great game to watched from an unbiased perspective, really seemed like the Boys had it there for a second. As Eli looked like a mental midget there for quite a while. Dallas always seems to do a good job with OBJ. He was pretty much irrelevant outside of one large play most of the game until the TD drive. I'd like to see Zeke in space more, perhaps some screens, some quick outs etc.

When the best player on a team is the place kicker there is a problem.
The Giants running the ball effectively when it counted the most was huge. Late in the game you got a run down D. There would have been no need for Terrence to use his brains. And again the inability to put the ball in the endzone...
Its the same season replayed in one game.

It would have been a long FG, but still.. The most sickening part of the ending was not the bonehead play from Williams, but seeing that pussy Garrett pat him on the back like it's no big deal.. Jesus Christ can somebody on this team besides Dez get angry?
Garrett got caught mouthing Mother ______ in the first Qrt if that helps any.

I kept screaming for them to run some wr screens for Dez but then I remembered who our coach and offensive coordinator was and saved my breath. I feel bad for Dez cuz he's one of the best receivers in the league and his coaching staff can't figure out how to get him the ball. This only happens in dallas.
Zeke missing so much time really showed too. The o line struggled with run block cuz NY stacked the box and we never adjusted.
D line is horrible and Brandon carr is still trash. I have us going 3-3 the first 6 games, which is realistic. After that t he schedule gets easy. We should go 7-3 to finish out the season.

More of the same.. Losing close games in the final minutes.. I hate Stephen A. but I love seeing him shit on the Cowboys for being fucking RETARDED.. Jason Garrett may be an IVY leaguer, but dude is a fucking pussy and the lack of accountability for anyones actions shows.. Terrence Williams needs to be benched in favor of Brice Butler, in practice and gameday for that retarded bullshit, but hey it's Jason Garrett, let's hug him and tell him it's ok to fuck your team over on a drill we practice all the time. So sick of the coaching staff tbh, it's fucking pathetic.
And as mentioned.. Scott Linehan's shitty ass schemes and play calling need to be addressed. How can they not find a way to get Dez the god damn football?? Seriously?? 5 targets to Cole Beasley's 12?? And he drops 2 of them that could have been the difference in the game?? :lol only Dallas would squander one of the best WR's in football.

7-9 or even 8-8 didn't make the playoffs or win the division even in last year's historically bad NFC East.

I did see a lot of short routes and "hot reads". But, with those running backs and that offensive line (arguably the best in the league)...you've got to run the ball more. I would have liked to see Dak with around 30 attempts. 45 is just too fucking much for a rookie in his very first NFL game.

Garrett is too worried about Dak throwing an interception and going into some sort of meltdown. Let the damn thing fly, try to win the game, not protect the QB's feelings. Dallas lets teams hang around.
But seriously, what do Dallas fans expect. The major decision maker of your team is more concerned about getting Arkansas playing games in his stadium and looking for a way to get Rhonda Rousey and Floyd Mayweather to fight. He is all over the place. And what does it matter. Super Bowl or not, Jerry has a show, and that's good enough. A SB is a secondary goal.

NYG looks very good as I predicted all along but Dallas has the tendency to not lose both games against the same team in the division... especially good at revenge road games in this current era.
I still think both teams can hover around the 11-5/12-4 range and make the playoffs... tiebreaker if applicable will be interesting. NYG beating the Saints helps them out zero in that sense because they're not a common team.

I had the Redskins doing A LOT better against Pittsburgh and winning that game. Surprised they would blow both their first 2 home games. Didn't think Pitt's sorry defense could hold up and I had the game being about a 41-38 shootout in WAS's favor but oh well.

The LBs and secondary made the key plays when they needed to. HUGE pick and at least 12 stops in the red zone in a row (mostly on 1-on-1 fade routes) to force FGs or that enormous pick by Church.
Grades:
Claiborne A (Saved the game with EXCELLENT coverage and tackling, red zone and otherwise, didn't go for double moves)
Jones B+ (great red zone coverage, still room for improvement in the open field)
Church A (very solid and HUGE pick)
Carr C+ (good and bad plays)
Scandrick D- (likely still injured at this time.. wasn't good)
Lee B-
Durant A+ (just ENORMOUS in the second half, replaced Hitchens who was awful)
Hitchens F (just AWFUL, especially in the run game... should NEVER get a snap at MLB again... that roughing the passer penalty killed us)
Gachkar D-
The rest of the LB corps: Inc
Mayowa: C+ (Decent pressure, almost got there a few times, needs to finish better)
T. Crawford: D+ (The sack at the end was helpful from DE, but he was AWFUL in the middle on run plays)
J. Crawford: C+ (One good sack, not much pressure aside from that)
Thornton: C- (Disappointing in the run game again... ugh)
T. McClain: A- (Another outstanding effort and our best DT for now)
M. Collins: B+ (Very solid play from the rookie DT, needs to play inside with McClain more, they both have star potential if Garrett/Marinelli let them play)

Lawrence - McClain - Collins - Gregory
would be a solid consistent A/B graded lineup...maybe even top ten. We could see that as early as the Cinci game early next month, I think that will make the defense fringe top 10, actually. The secondary (minus injured Scandy right now) are playing very well, and Lee and Durant are playing elite at LB though Hitchens is bad bad bad at MLB. Nzeocha was a star in preseason until he strained his heel, hopefully he'll be back soon because we desperately need a solid 3rd reliable LB until Smith (likely end of year or next year) and (MAYBE but unlikely) McClain, returns.
The problem for us right now is the DL and ONLY the DL.
also, Gregory and Collins played together as RDE and 3T DT in Nebraska for 2 years, and that pass rush was INSANELY good during that time... Gregory wasn't as good last year without Collins, but I get the feeling the Cowboys drafted Collins to double down on the Gregory choice to bring in his ex buddy which may help keep him off the pot and in football.

Well Mcclain is out for 10 games......That's a lot of games and who knows if Gregory is going to play this season so who knows with those 2....As for Collins who knows how he will do with the foot.....The only one that is clear to return is Demarcus Lawrence.....I wish Smith LB was playing already.....Im excited to see what he can do.....Lee and smith in the same line up would be awesome.....

Collins played well today... did you watch the game? Him and T McClain were our best DTs by far, and it wasn't close... Collins even made a critical 3rd down tackle from behind on a running back.
Gregory should be back by week 5 because he's unlikely to be suspended a second time in the same offseason (before serving the 1st suspension) for missing a drug test while in rehab. Also, he's back with the team and working out, just not in the stadium as per NFL rules.
McClain is the one who may never be back as his issue seems to be that he doesn't really care about football that much.

Our FB's have been very productive; Moose would be proud imo.
Zeke looks like a rookie, but he had some small flashes of brilliance amidst a terrible game. Morris is obviously the starter (which he proved he in preseason imo) but I guess Jerrah wants him to get more burn. There's no way Linnehan doesn't see the obvious.

I still think both teams can hover around the 11-5/12-4 range and make the playoffs.

Yep. We've got to beat them in our Week 14 showdown in NY, but we should absolutely have no problem doing that considering Lawrence and Gregory will certainly be back by then, if we want him McClain will have been back for a few weeks, or even an outside possibility of Jaylon Smith (probably one of those two but not both).
The DEs are the only really problem on defense for us right now in the passing game, and Crawford at 3T/Hitchens at MLB in the running game, but Durant and Lee have been excellent. Problem is, star rushing DEs are so vital to success in Marinelli's scheme, and both our studs are fuckin' suspended for another couple. Also, Hitchens has no business playing MLB, but I've said that a million times already so it's beating a dead horse.

There's "in the playoff hunt" and then there's "competing for a playoff bye"... if the former happens, Romo will be the guy... if it's the latter, then Dak has definitely outperformed all expectations and is the next millennial messiah.
Also, the Bungles are overrated. That's the game our pass rush comes back, too. That's 2 hungry, talented and pissed off young studs craving quarterback meat like a pregnant woman on cocaine. I wanna see some "Red Ryder BB Gun" ginger DNA and tears scattered about AT&T Stadium field that Sunday.
I do expect us to lose in Green Bay per par.

The Bengals have won 10 or more games the last 4 seasons, they are not overrated. They have made the playoffs the last five seasons, they are a great regular season team.

So there ya are tied with Giants for the division lead and are looking great, so ya chance Romo can come in rusty and improve things?

Lawrence & Gregory.
The issue for the Bengals this season is as a first-place team from last year, the fact the Steelers and Ravens are better than them, being a mediocre at best road team, and the way the schedule breaks out for them this year (including having sold off a home game to London), I don't really see them being better than about 9–7.
They have a good defense, particularly the back 7, it's quite good, probably upper half (6-10) of the top 10. They have one dominant receiver. They have an average overrated QB. Their OL and running game leaves a lot to be desired... and their coaching is well below average. I don't see it for them this year.

What are you talking about? The Bengals went 6-2 on the road in 2015, and 5-3 in 2014, that is great~~~
They have won 10 games a season the last 4. They were a plus 9 PA/PF in 2015, that is great.
Andy Dalton led the AFC with a 106.3 QB rating in 2015. A.J.Green, Giovanni Bernard and Jeremy Hill all in the top 10 in the AFC. Only team to have two RB;s in the top 10.

I had no issues with the call for the onside kick. Fans always bitch that Garrett has no balls and doesn't take any risks. He finally takes a risk, and people bash him for it. It was a good call with poor execution. Dan Bailey is a great kicker, but I don't think I've ever seen him kick a decent onside kick that gives his team a chance to recover it.

Funny enough, he did it in week 17 on the same field away against the Redskins in 2014... and it worked perfectly... but that game was insignificant because we had already clinched and the Skins were out.

Should be a blowout, if it's not the Cowboys need to re-evaluate themselves... we're talking about a bottom 10 team at the start of the season, then you take away their best QB, LB and NT... shouldn't even be close. Their defense is awful. Look for Dak to throw minimum 3 touchdown passes and we score in the mid to upper 30s and win by a large margin.

No, Demarcus is still out, he returns against the Bungles. :(
I still think he has a good chance to get double digit sacks, even in 12 games... the guy is a budding superstar and elite against the run, too. He's basically Olivier Vernon but will be an even better pass rusher -- will be known as the rich man's Olivier Vernon in a year or so, and he's still on his rookie contract.
Davis and Irving need to play more snaps at end than Jack Crawford and Benson Mayowa... those guys just aren't beating their man or getting any pressure. They shouldn't play.

Has nothing to do with balls, it has to do with decision making. Putting a quarterback who literally gets injured every time he's hit in a no-back set on third down is a risk, but not a smart one. Running the ball six times in the second half of a game when you're up by 20 is a risk, but not a smart one.
If Dan Bailey has never kicked a decent onside kick, then trying one when you could just play field position is a stupid risk.

Absolutely none. Gotta be fairly impressed with the secondary play because in past years with a rush like this they would be victimized. Fortunately, they have a bit of time before they face a real threat in the passing game. Might have some help on the pass rush by then.
