Tiago isn't a center either :rolleyes.
6pts 3rbs
But has the best agent in the biz for sure.
According to a lot of people on this site he's a pick n roll wiz, he has great defense and will somehow develop an offensive game.
Yeah that's the best part, he's somehow gonna develop into a beast :lol.
You two can stop talking basketball and go have sex with each other whenever you are ready. Most people here are cool with that sort of thing. In fact, I know a pretty liberal minister that will perform a gay marriage if that's a step you are thinking about taking. I think it would be great tbh.

Does Kirilenko have a cap hold right now? Why doesn't it make sense? It's all over twitter.
Not really. As a Non-Bird free agent, AK doesn't benefit from having one. It doesn't give him or the Wolves any financial advantage. Also, I wasn't factoring that in their cap situation at all.

Would love to see AK47 here. However, in this scenario, Bonner and Neal would likely be gone, and so would 2 of our most capable shooters.
I think you're a good poster when not talking about Splitter. But Neal isn't clutch. I can't name five big shots the guy's hit over three years. Green had that many the past season alone.

What Neal brings offensively is not enough to make up for what he lacks defensively. Especially in the playoffs when the intensity is very high.
Agreed.
I'm hoping POR signs him to a contract that the Spurs won't wanna match.
I'd rather Nando gets Manu's minutes when he gets injured than Neal tbh.

Every free agent has a cap hold until the player re-signs, signs elsewhere or is renounced. AK's cap hold is $11.7mil.

No, I mean that the Wolves would renounce it without thinking about it, since a team can ALWAYS use the Non-Bird exception to re-sign their own guys. There is no functional difference between keeping it or renouncing it, so I just didn't count it when factoring the Wolves' cap situation. So the $51 Million number already assumes AK's hold is eliminated.

Actually, Manu has a somewhat proprietary ("fatherly") interest in Tiago as a fellow South American.
He'll be more likely to take a discount because the Spurs took care of his friend.

Over the course of the next few days, hes gonna put feelers releasing hints he is "real close" to signing with team A, wait fir the reaction, then proceed to say he is now "real close" to signing with team B.
Based of the reaction, he will make his decision. What this also does is show "how hard" that he is really struggling with his decision when we all not thats not the case.

I'm assuming it's because they have not officially signed and they have time to make room? But if they don't then obviously it would need to be a S&T or the deal dies, correct?
Minny has the cap space to add Martin without doing a S&T.
Their cap situation is the following (I'm assuming they will waive Stiemsma and Gelabale who have non guaranteed contracts):
Love: 14.7
Williams: 5.0
Pekovic cap hold: 8.8
Barea: 4.7
Ridnour: 4.3
Rubio: 3.7
Shved: 3.0
Cunningham: 2.2
Budinger cap hold: 0.9
Chad Johnson: 0.9
Shabazz Muhammad cap hold: 1.6
Dieng cap hold: 1.1
For a total payroll of $50.0M. They have enough cap space to just sign Martin even when you account that Muhammad and Dieg cap holds could be a little higher if they agreed to pay them to usual 120%.

If Billups were able to stay healthy, (huge if obviously), but if we could, he'd be a pretty solid signing at the vet minimum tbh. Even at 36 I'd prefer him backing up Tony in big playoff games than Cojo at this point. Plus he can shoot the 3, something Cojo cannot. Worst case scenario he sits on the end of the bench as the 12th man. He can take PAtty's towel waving duties.

I just read in a Woj article that they can't play in unsanctioned off-season games before July 1, which the game was. Which is kinda reasonable I guess.

Saw Broussard said Nets are "out of running" on Korver. Not sure what to think of it - for all of his faults, Neal can actually create his own shot unlike Green / Korver / etc. Korver can guard the 2/3 but we still need a fourth big as this signing would spell the end of Bonner and not sure you can count on Baynes as your fourth.
I'd be fine with it though if the price is right. Would mean Deshaun Thomas' stint with the team was short lived though. Wonder if Pop will be able to call him to cut him.

It's time to realize that the Spurs FO like what they have, including Bonner.
As I said, the HL of this off-season will be a cheap SF to backup Leonard. Let's have some fun and forget about Kirilenko, Monta, etc Won't happen.

I'm okay with what has happened so far, but if the Spurs sign Gary Neal with the MLE...

would you be really surprised if Gary Neals gets the money? This old team just needs to stick together forever I guess.

I would be more surprised at an MLE signing than I would at the Spurs giving that kind of money to Neal and calling it an offseason.

Jamison doesn't make sense unless they amnesty Bonner which we all know isn't going to happen.

Only if Bonner leaves would I even consider Jamison if I were the Spurs.
