The best the Democrats could do was ....Joe Biden. That is what the country pins its hopes on? Laughable. The party deserves to be buried.
I’m using Vox and Mass is still way too early to call, Suffolk County basically hasn’t reported anything yet.
Was too but they seem to be lagging badly.
According to the AP Bernie has won Colorado and Biden Oklahoma. Bernie enjoys what is looking to be a little too much to overcome in Texas.

I thought a lot of Republicans didn't like Trump too. So why are 94% of them voting for him again?
Bernie losing Oklahoma after winning it last time. Biden and fucking Bloomberg are canibalizing each other and he still lost it?
I'm starting to think he cant win anywhere. He's going to take a dip in the national polling.

This is definitely true and it’s my main criticism of how this has been handled. Biden was basically allowed to coast through the month of February without any spotlight on his dementia symptoms and then he gets a huge boost 24-48 hours before Super Tuesday with drop outs/endorsements. It was basically a perfect storm for a candidate who needed a path that allowed for as little exposure and media appearances as possible.
Still too little too late though for any Bernie comeback after this imo.

Wonder how big of a deal Corona played in all this. I got in and out of the voting place in like a half-hour, but I could imagine someone worrying about being stuck in a line with a bunch of people potentially spreading the virus. We're talking about people who wouldn't normally vote here. You add that to the belief that Sanders was going to clean up today potentially creating a 2016-esque situation where way fewer people turned out because they didn't think they had to. I could see this being a underrepresented result.
But you could argue that if anyone was going to show up under fears of virus, that it'd be Sanders people, so maybe not.

Bernie gonna get a TX, CA boost to pull within punching distance. From there, he just has to outperform Joe state by state in the upcoming weeks.

Just another case of 35 and under crowd being shit when it comes to turnout. I voted last Thursday and was the youngest person I saw at my polling place, and I'm fucking old.

It's over. Sanders has no chance at a majority and no argument for the nomination if Biden doesn't get a majority since Biden won three battleground states tonight, one by an enormous margin, while Sanders only took one. Bernie's only real shot is a clean sweep of the four rust belt battleground states (Wisc, Mich, Ohio, Penn) with dominating wins since Biden almost certainly takes Florida comfortably.

There’s a poignant moment in Jonathan Abrams’s oral history about the 2002 Kings, right after the section covering their gut-wrenching Game 7 defeat, when a Sacramento employee named Devin Blankenship remembers his coworkers consoling one another. They were saying all the right things about losing to the Lakers. It’s just the beginning. This is the start of something bigger. You can’t win the big one until you lose a few tough ones. I'm just not sure that that matters. The democrats don't care about their progressive wing. It's just lip service they pay while they continue to trend toward being the GOP. I like Sanders -- I really do -- and I'll have no issue voting for him. But I wouldn't be doing so thinking anything is going to change. So long as the dems remain in the center, the debate is going to be solidly on the right. What makes that so bad is that the right side of the debate ignores health care, pretends global warming is a matter of person belief and that UBC is a completely random issue. We need to pull the debate back into the center where we can actually come up with comprehensive solutions. It's the left's job to normalize these topics, not to run away from them.

Progressive voters aren't voting for Bloom.
Yeah it’s that simple. The issue for Sanders tonight isn’t about Warren or Bloomer stealing votes, it’s an issue of a lot more voters choosing a moderate candidate over a progressive one.

Universal Basic Income. Essentially what Yang wanted to do. It's out-there as shit right now, and it doesn't make sense to implement it today. But it's gonna have to be seriously discussed in the near future, and it would help if we started figuring out how it could work now.

The progressive wing didn't fucking vote. Or they got conned by the electability argument. No reason they wouldn't be again. I can't think of a bigger middle finger to the Democratic establishment than 2016, but here were are again with them winning the chance to go do the same shit again in 2020. There is no Bernie Sanders for 2024.
Warren ross perot'd Bernie tonight tbh. she was Biden's best friend even though it's almost the end of the road for pocahontas tbh.
If anyone got plowed tonight, it was your preferred candidate
But keep talking about my children
Um, is that an invitation? If so, that’s really fucking weird and disturbing.

Yeah, that's the big problem. ALL of the notable candidates were really old, to the point that it's hard to imagine any running in 2024, let alone 2028. I see no future for the party right now. Empty suits like Pete and Beto will be okay for the establishment wing. But there isn't anyone to drive the debate now.

Yeah it’s an elephant in the room no one wants to touch. Over the next 25-30 years a huge chunk of corporate level desk jobs are going to get automated the same way manufacturing jobs over the last 40 years have been getting automated. Without something like UBI were going to have huge unemployment and massive poverty once that waive of automation happens.

But who does? Buttigieg was empty suit #3 that the DNC has tried out for Obama 2.0. It's like the GOP finding another Regan. It took them seven elections to get another generational guy. The dems will have to deal with base hits who don't have too much stink of them and let the new messiah come naturally.

It doesn't really matter now honestly. Bernie trying to say I edged Biden out in Texas at the convention isn't going to mean shit since the state is ruby red. And it shouldn't mean shit.
So we need an electoral college for primaries too?

As long as there is an electoral college for the actual election yeah, Texas votes shouldn't mean much for nominating a Democrat to run for president in the case of a brokered convention. They should certainly mean a lot less than Virignia, North Carolina, Minnesota, Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, or Pennsylvania votes since they don't mean shit in the real election.

I think what happened, is that Bernie's path to victory was Trump's 2016, let the other candidates cannibalize each other until super tuesday and then take a big enough lead, nobody can catch up. Bernie's strength this entire time was that he consistently polled at 20-25%. With the exception of the deep south, he got around 20-25%, he never found a way to consistently expand his base.

well at least we know Biden will win VA and PA against Trump. Not sure about the other states, but MN looks promising for Ol' Joe too.

But where does the money come from? If Texas dems are huge financial contributors, they do deserve a legit voice, even if their actual votes don't count.
