if you already have insurance it's nothing. If it benefits friends, family members and lowers costs for everyone, that's not nothing.

This.

Democrats now more educated than Republicans, Pew survey finds

Democrats are now the party of college graduates, especially those with post-graduate work.

Meanwhile, people with a high-school degree or less, by far the larger group, slightly lean toward Republicans.

Both preferences are the reverse of what they were in the 1990s.

54 percent of college graduates either identified as Democrats or leaned Democratic,

compared to 39 percent who identified or leaned Republican.

One-third of Americans have a college degree.

2.1M federal employees whom Trash just screwed by cutting their annual pay raise below inflation.

And I suppose they see how Trash is abusing their colleagues in NatSec, Dept of State, IRS, and all Exec branch agencies.

Even Repugs are worried about AGW, and Repugs policies are making AGW worse, while allow BigCorp to poison air, land, water, and reducing Toxic site cleanups.

but, never underestimate the stupidity and ignorance of people

If it benefits friends, family members and lowers costs for everyone, that's not nothing.

and the guy who has insurance get's nothing, if their friend makes 110 bucks and they don't get any of it they got nothing, if their family got 110 bucks and didn't give them anything they got nothing, if the cost gets lowered from something they weren't going to pay anyway they got nothing.

If his scheme passes, your medical bills would be paid for too, do you consider that nothing?

Of course that’s something. The fact there there’s some return doesn’t erase the exchange being grossly inequitable in my case.

I don’t know if anyone contests that benefits may be spread. But for those who end up paying into the system, what say you to the increased tax burden they pay? Cost of doing business?

Offset by lower health care costs and reliable access to care, whenever it's needed.

Which is great, but not really necessary to a thirty something professional i.e., those who bear the brunt of paying for all this.

Bernie doesn’t even support gestures like raising the SALT cap. He’s got his target audience.

It's the college graduates ( a notorious dem vote that they somewhat lost with hillary) with already good health care in the swing states, that the Dems need to worry about. Bernie is so far, giving them nothing but a tax hike.

Well Texas and Florida have lousy health care and these are swing states, and a tax hike wouldn't be a huge deal there because there's no state income taxes.

SALT income taxes should be completely eliminated. It's bogus that a person should relocate within the same country but automatically lose disposable income right off the bat for nothing.

Irrelevant though. The point is that young earners end up shouldering the cost. I just want Bernie bros to be honest about the fact rather than dressing it up as a social good. It’s great to feel that way when you have others shouldering a disproportionate amount of the load “modernizing” the health system.

I get that but literally my only problem is that he wants to eliminate 1.8 million jobs. And his plan to help those people is to give them money to train them to do other stuff, but now you're expecting 40 year old career workers to start over, compete with new college grads, for shit wages because you just flooded the market with 1.8 million job seekers. Only reason i support a medicare buy in with tax break for the poor.

If I had my druthers, there’d be a candidate who would take the BBs we’re putting into defense and do a modern New Deal in infrastructure and IT. Warren is the only one I’ve heard of who has a plan like this. The way I see it, creating or further developing new economic sectors by the government is a way to directly promote growth and stability and while providing a more direct benefit to those who end up shouldering the burden.

But in reality, we have comrade free shit. I get the impulse to pay for social well being. My personal opinion is that Bernie asks for too much.

To be fair, there aren't any other recent SC polls at RCP. The You Gov/CBS poll is the most recent. Seems odd that landline polls seem to carry so much more weight with you -- who has a landline nowadays?

If you look at the betting markets, they favor Sanders even more strongly.

Yeah I have no sympathy for those in the healthcare industry who have made a career out of screwing Americans with private insurance bureaucracy and finding creative ways to deny people coverage. If someone like Sanders and Warren puts them out of work they can go get a real job like the rest of us.

Btw the fact that $1.8 million people get put out of work should show you how much cheaper healthcare gets. Right now healthcare in this country is a jobs program for millions of people who have useless and unnecessary job and the result is all of us paying way too much for healthcare.

I don’t see why the New Deal era is relevant now (we’re not in the midst of a catastrophic economic collapse) or relevant to my point either.

The surest way to get back to the New Deal era is to force corporations to give stock to their employees. That’s a pretty sure fire way to instigate another economic collapse.

You said you wanted a new deal, that’s why it’s relevant. You don’t get a new deal with the tax rates where they are right now.

Socialism has never been the cause of economic collapse in this country. The two biggest economic collapses in American history were both caused by rampant wealth inequality and a middle class with no spending power.

The one's at the top will be fine, I'm sure they've already got plans with the others in the millionaire's club to bail and land somewhere else. It's not just the insurance companies losing though, every doctor's office has at least one clerk who liason's with the insurance companies, most will be gone if it works like it should. Every contractor who doesn't work in the industry but for the company is also fucked if it works like it's supposed to. Any municipality that depends on those $$ is fucked too. You can't just eliminate 1.8 million jobs and expect it only to effect 1.8 million people.

You’re not answering my question because you know the argument that we should make everyone pay more for healthcare in order to subsidize the 1.8 million unskilled healthcare administration workers who need a job is retarded.

Im also not saying we should fuck anyone over. I’m saying we should fix the healthcare system and let the chips fall where they may. Obama’s ACA made the private industry much worse by creating massive regulations forcing smaller insurances to go bankrupt, and creating a monopoly among the 4 major corporations in BC/BS, Aetna, Cigna, and Universal which allowed those insurances to raise prices and premium and the overall costs. It also put more pressure on Medicaid/Medicare since people lost their insurances and had to get government insurance which cut coverage on many different treatments and only worsened care for those patients. It can’t even effectively cover those folks. How is it gonna cover everyone? It’s a fantasy.

The forecast was a fifteen to twenty percent drop-off. She went further left on $15 min wage and one or two other issues as a peace offering. I think the bigger issue was the people who recognized that the primary was rigged and abstained on principle. A psychopath like Hillary has no use for those kinds of people if she can't snow them.

What does that do to anyone who strives to better his life, and why should someone who gets free x, y and z work? Pretty soon, no one will work. There ain't nothing that's for free.

So what do tell my son - no, you have to reject that elite university which I can't afford and go to a state university but that other person who racked up thousands in debt is gonna get it forgiven (and regardless of Bernie saying the RICH will pay for it, we all know that in the end, the middle class gets stuck with the bill).

If BigCorp trashes 1.8M jobs, it's "creative destruction" or "increasing shareholder value"

If the govt offers a cheaper no-profit, no-investor health insurance that the for-profit gang can't compete with and lets 1.8M jobs go, it's shitcanning.

Citizens have been subsidizing those 1.8M people for decades. US health care overcharges $1T / year and still doesn't cover everybody.

Bernie's basic philosophy is NUTTY - work hard, achieve something and have the government take it from you and give to someone else who didn't.

You’d rather Bernie run as an independent and siphon votes away from the Democratic candidate? That’s pretty retarded. Bernie running as a 3rd party would guarantee a Trump victory. Bernie is actually doing the right thing by running as a Democrat so his name doesn’t appear on the ballot unless the primary voters support him.

Its also an intellectually dishonest comparison. Bernie has an I next to his name but has always voted with the Dems in the senate and his only difference is he’s further to the left than them. Bloomberg disagrees with the Dems on most issues except for things like his gun control pet project. Bloomberg is ideologically a moderate Republican.

They make some horseshit argument about how Hillary was demonized as a far left socialist so she doesn’t really count as a moderate even though that argument proves our point — no matter who the Dems nominate Sean Hannity will convince his viewers that person is a socialist, thus the idea that we can cast a wide net with a moderate is flawed.

If Fox News can convince 40% of America that Hillary fucking Clinton is a socialist then it can do the same with pretty much anyone who has a D next to his/her name.

You guys voted for Obama over Clinton in the 2008 primaries when Limbaugh told you to also.

Democrats voted for Reagan in the 1980 primaries and Trump in the 2016 primaries. The fact you think that’s some kind of smoking gun is retarded.

Republicans assume everyone in America has the same views they have so the assume everyone will be as scared of a Sanders presidency as they are. That’s why the my think Biden and Bloomer are amazing candidates.

Don't forget when Republicans voted Obama over Clinton in 2008.

Carlson’s coverage of the 2020 primary has been surprisingly good imo...he was dead on when he said the debate wasn’t going to do anything for Warren.

:lmao calling Warren “mistress Warren” to imply Bloomer is into BDSM.

Not in Texas. Might want to Google that.

Seems like Rush flip flopped later in the primary. But CNN's exit polling had Republicans picking Obama 53 / 46 over Clinton in the Texas primary.

No way in hell Republicans are voting against Trump. He has a 90%+ favoribility among them.

Among those willing to still call themselves Republicans for polling purposes, yes, his approval rating is historically high.

Trump probably did that on purpose to get a reaction out of her. I mean everything he’d done up to that point had been unorthodox anyway. I was just surprised that he was able to get so many sound bites against her and catch her in so many gotcha moments.

I thought exactly the opposite.
he was horrible

But he won the election despite my perceived middle school name calling debate tactics.
I now get that the tactics were exactly what his staunchest supporters wanted.
(Which is why Spurtunculus is addressed as an incel who loves the sex lives of men stories.
He understands this type of communication.)

i know i'm missing something, so can somebody fill me in as to how pete gets delegates despite falling short of the 15% threshold?

ah, as i've read up, the caucus system is different than primaries. the 15% rule is applied on a district by district basis in a caucus, as opposed to state-wide as in a primary

Sanders complimented Cuban education, Obama did the same five years ago and shook Raul Castro's hand, I guess we're all still confused about whether he's an actual commie, right?

I guess is a good thing Bernie already got elected president and shouldn’t worry about blowback so you’re right of course.

He’ll have it staged with soft ball questions that he knows are coming...not a chance he opens himself up to the risk of insurgents showing up with gotcha questions.

He canceled the town hall. :lol

Smartest move he could make.

there's going to be a debate tomorrow... and you can bet that following nevada, everybody is going to come out, guns blazing to take a shot at sanders. and they will have some material to work with given the 60 minutes interview.

makes sense for bloomberg to stay out of the spotlight until everybody has a chance to lay into sanders

will be interesting to see how sanders responds to the onslaught

Bernie will take Bloomberg's spot on tonight's town hall so it will come up tonight. He can put the comment to bed with a throughout response and a complete rebuke without bringing up "the good part about x."

The country is like 30% dems, 30% republican, and 40% independent. It's quite a gamble to hope that the majority of those independents will vote for the most leftist dem candidate in history. That's why centrist dems (what few remain) are freaking out.

I think it's closer to 35% dems, 25% republicans and 40% independents... that's why democrats generally have the upper hand in the federal popular vote...

However, about half of that 40% very likely leans one way or another. I would put truly independents closer to the 20% (and they can still decide elections).

Mark my words. If Sanders is the candidate, there will be massive turnout in people 45+ against him.

You can bump this later.

Hopefully a lot of them die before the election, tbh

15% rule is applied district by district in primaries too....there are certain delegates allocated statewide and delegates allocated to each district.

I don’t disagree with you but Bernie needs to be cognizant of the double standard he’s going to face because he labels himself as a socialist and the risk of that turning into smear attacks where he’s labeled as a commie. He’s being a stubborn old man by refusing to let go of the literacy thing when he needs to be a politician who’s willing to ignore history in exchange for votes.

Also, it wouldn’t have mattered given how much of a landslide the election was but you can bet that had Obama said this during his 2008 campaign the “Muslim from Kenya!” crowd would have been all over it and taking it out of context to label Obama a communist. It’s a little different to say it during the final year of your 2nd term.

so Bernie should let the hateful, bad-faith, LYING, slandering Repug/rightwinghatemedia/Trash, playing to American ignorance, determine who he is?

No he shouldn’t but when he makes these comments it’s what he’s doing. Don’t give them ammunition that they can misconstrue and take out of context.
