The Dems would be foolish to think that Texas is there for the taking in 2020. I'd pay more attention to the figures in the swing states. North Carolina (which Trump won in 2016 by 3.6%) had a turnout of 1,194,778 voters for the democrats and 798,773 for the republican (it is a semi-closed primary). Virginia only held a primary for the Democrats but they did have almost 1.3 million voters show up. The Midwest will be interesting to watch in seeing how many each party brings out, but especially in seeing how Biden fares in the key states of Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan (it would not be a favorable sign for him if he loses some of these states to Sanders). Pennsylvania will also be big. Maybe Florida. Another interesting note. Much attention is being paid to how well Biden is doing with Black voters but not sure if anyone is noticing how poorly is doing with Latino voters.
He'll do well with the Latinos in Florida. They don't like the fact that Bernie praises Cuba, China, Soviet Union, etc.

that would be the best case scenario, tbh. biden committing to a one year term, endorsing warren 2024. warren's judgment when it comes to campaigning is pretty poor, but on messaging and policy she is on point

we saw pete/amy voters consolidate behind biden... liz had too much overlap with sanders, and many of her voters had already moved on. if sanders wasn't in the race, she'd have done considerably better, imo

actually, america is one big caudilo. the analogy i would use is that the democrats are what republicans once were (during nixon, ford, reagan and bush) and the republicans are bat shit crazy. and the rest of us are fucked.

economically yes. no doubt. and i think biden used nixon's and reagan's tough on crime/war on drugs strategies as inspiration for his own crime bill (which the Black demographic seems to have forgiven). of course, both parties have been war-mongering imperialists all along.

I am looking forward to more ads from Bloomberg's people now that they won't be about Bloomberg.
He'll do well with the Latinos in Florida. They don't like the fact that Bernie praises Cuba, China, Soviet Union, etc.
he won't do that well with the cubans; they are still predominantly GOP. but, you are right in regards to how biden is really not all that different from trump when it comes to regime change in latin america. so, the deciding factor would just be that cubans hate being taxed. biden will win the puerto rican vote in florida, he may not get all that much from central americans, which is likely the fastest growing latino demographic in florida.

I don’t think you’re wrong for thinking this looks orchestrated at all but to immediately jump to conspiracy theories is a stretch. Candidates drop and endorse other candidates all the time. Warren had that choice too.
The DNC is not this competent to pull this off. And no one knew Biden would win anything after he was basically left for dead. Was the plan to have Biden purposefully lose the first 3 contests, add another useless dynamic into the race in Bloomberg, risk splitting more votes thus freeing up Bernie, have Bloomberg do shitty, drop out and then endorse Biden?
Isn’t it more likely that things just lined up perfectly starting with SC and the only viable person to beat Bernie became Biden?
I kinda believe that. I'm just confused as why Bloomberg literally only entered the race for two weeks. His part doesn't make any sense.

Bernie is under performing in California. He's unable to rack up the percentages. Stuck in the low 30s while Biden keeps eating into that lead.
If Bernie ends up winning California by less than 5 points, it's a huge loss. I dont think Bernie is coming out with the most delegates overall in this race.

looks like Bernie still has a chance of ending up with more delegates than Conrpop in the end
good stuff :tu
Doesn't really matter because Biden got the momentum. Bloomberg backed out and endorsed him. He'll probably prop Biden up with massive amounts of ads. The media will shape the narrative based on all the states won, general momentum, expected results in coming states, and position him positively vs Trump. They have everything they need. Plus the next debate isn't before the next vote.

Not sure what source you are looking at but Google has shown a gap in the high 8s for a long time so I expect that to maintain. The early vote really screwed Biden last night. His wins would've been bigger and losses smaller. It's was on full display when Bernie started with a sizable lead in Texas.

Bernie is no longer winning those states by wide margins (When he's even winning them) like in 2016. Buttigieg outpeformed him in Iowa, tied him in NH.
While I do expect him to win most of the whiter states, it will probabbly be by 5 points as oposed to 30-40 point blowouts as he did before.

There are a lot of thing that should be done to make it easier to vote but in this case it was pure millennial laziness.
I still think a candidate like Biden who millennials find repulsive is retarded when there are other candidates who both moderates and millennials would like, but if Sanders failed this badly at driving millennial turnout in the primary there should be serious doubt about him doing it in the general.

one thing i have noticed is how this “lack of young people turnout” is ONLY bernies fault and ONLY bernies problem?
bernie has increased latino and young people turnout in some places - (iowa and cali and texas i believe) but
this is an ongoing problem - and IS the future of the party - for better or for worse-
but it is a Democratic problem - not just a bernie problem
and it would behoove the party to try and help bernie with turnout instead of blaming and demonizing him IMO.

irrelevant-
he is starting a movement of working class people fighting for their rights-
the dems can castigate people like bernie and basically just become republicans- who only care about lining their pockets and lying to the working class while screwing them
eventually —bernie or someone like him will come along and inspire the working class to finally wake up and mobilize and fight the oppressors
the wealth gap is only going one way- and one day it will finally explode into chaos/civil war/revolution
it is just a matter of time
returning to the status quo -
will only delay it a bit
but people eventually get tired of being lied to and being screwed and one day in the future they will look around and say,
“you know- we OUTnumber them- why should the few get 99% - while the many split 1%?”

I don't understand why this is still out there. Were her marching orders were to steal votes from Biden/Bloomberg?
In pretty much every poll on the matter, less than half of Warren voters have said Bernie was their second choice. So if she was out, there's a good chance Biden wins by a wider margin.
It's too bad she didn't do better, tbh. She had some gaffes but was the best candidate in my opinion. It's hard to imagine that if a man had run her exact same campaign and had the same qualifications, he wouldn't have done a lot better.

The Morning Consult poll, which is the latest I can find, has Sanders and Biden in a virtual tie for 2nd choice (21% vs 19%) among Buttigieg supporters.
Bernie underperformed his polling on the matter. So if only 40% of Warren supporters polled SAID they'd vote for Bernie as 2nd choice, it stands to reason the actual vote percentage might have been even less than that. Bloomberg underperformed his numbers as well. In the end, people came out for Biden, or they grudgingly settled on him based on momentum.

The only really “unfair” thing for Bernie so far has been media coverage imo.
He had a crowded field that helped him in the pre Super Tuesday states, and Bloomberg hurt Biden just as much as Liz hurt Sanders in Super Tuesday.
It’s pretty simple where’s things stand - once all the votes are counted from this week Bernie will likely be short by <50 delegates with 2/3rds of the delegates still up for grabs and no one other than a senile old man as his opponent.
He has the opportunity to beat Biden and has no excuses at this point, the Biden endorsement momentum is going to wear off. If he can’t beat Biden now then he doesn’t deserve it, same goes for Biden. Should be zero need for any super delegates or a brokered convention now imo.

Its also big news that Bullock is running in Montana.

McGrath has raised like 17 million already, and Kentucky flipped on its Gubernational race last year too. To your point though Bloomer is going to need to bankroll anti Mitch ads because the Republican PACs are going to sound the alarm bells if their beloved Mitch is in danger of losing.
Still would have liked to see Abrams run in Georgia but outside of that Dems did a pretty good job with senate candidates in swing states this cycle.

Yeah, that race is locked up. Any chance Gardner had went away when Hickenlooper entered the race.
If only we had a good presidential candidate (that’s a swipe at both Biden and Sanders).

yep, bankrupted people were forced to spend $100s for financial planners (Repug confiscatory socialism) to try to avoid bankruptcy.
In nearly all cases went to bankruptcy anyway, with the financial advisors pocketing $100s.
