Everyone not named Bernie, Biden, and Bloomberg should drop out.

I think the others are hanging around because usually when a candidate drops, they hitch their wagon to another candidate hoping to get a VP gig.

I might could see either Pete or Warren with either Biden or Bernie, imo

Klobuchar should stick around. Her impact anywhere else is so insignificant that staying in helps Biden at this point. If she drops out then Bernie will probably win her state. Cant say the same about Warren.

She's set to lose her own state to Bernie. What an embarrassment.

Biden looking to be within 10 delegates after tonight.

Looks like this was pretty accurate. Within 7 delegates of Bernie.

Impressive win by Biden. He's almost equaled Hillary's vote totals and there are 6 others in this.

Bernie's plans to achieve it is by either doing pep rallies in Kentucky until Mitch McConnell turns into a socialist or if they get a slim majority in the Senate to get rid of the flibuster which 10+ senators already said they won't do. So maybe some voters aren't wasting their time obsessing over it 24/7 like some Brooklyn and Austin hipster progressives are

So you think Biden has a shot to keep close to Sanders and force the DNC to nominate him at the convention? If it's like 40% Sanders, 20% Biden on the delegate count that's going to be hard but if it's 35% Sanders, 27% Biden I think Joe gets the nomination. Tall order though considering he has put almost no time nor money into Super Tuesday states and Bloomberg is bombarding the airwaves with ads with Judge Judy and Obama. Shepard Clyburn said "Biden", and 10Ks of black sheeple bleeted "Biden", forgetting or not knowing how Biden abused Anita Hill and supported all of Clinton's conservative shit that screwed black people.

No doubt 100Ks of blacks in SC are on Medicaid, trying to fulfill the work requirement or have no health insurance,

and/or couldn't vote because they were too sick, or dead, since slave state SC Repugs, spiting The Knitter, and spiting its own citizens, have not expanded Medicaid, and Biden does not support universal health care.

Getting people fired up will do that. Political passion counts, for good and for ill.

At this point almost everyone has a strong opinion about who should win and ready disdain for other candidates and their supporters. Singling out this or that candidate for what people say on social media is a reliable indicator of who the speaker doesn't like, and little more.

I tend to doubt Trump and Bernie have a monopoly of trolls online.

I do see - and have felt for decades - that a revolution was/is needed -

and I am not saying Bernie will pull it off or is even allowed to try -
but ferchrissakes -

just how long do we want to continue the status quo - if we already know the outcome?

The rich/poor gap is already obscene and it is inevitable that it will lead to destruction - so how long will we play the game every 4 years of just going red to blue to red to blue -

with each side just filling their own pockets and each side protecting their own interests while each side bitches about the other side while that side is in power -

and then rinse repeat?

At least OLD MAN bernie is trying to take a different route - and the fear and panic of losing "all we've ever known" is just plain stupid.

The left didn’t start ramping up the anti-war sentiment until after the 2004 election which is a big reason why public opinion hasn’t shifted that much at the time.

iirc Kerry even said during his campaign that if he could do it all over again he’d still invade Iraq. Kerry was tripping over his own dick to try and look “tough on terror” while still being a Democrat and it made him look indecisive and weak.

Overwhelmingly Republican unfortunately regardless of who’s on the other side.

Young people exist and don’t vote. Trying to convince old people to vote Democrat didn’t work 4 years ago so I’m hoping the strategy of getting young people out to vote works.

Fortunately the primary will be a good litmus test. If Sanders is as bad at driving millennial voter turnout on Tuesday as he was yesterday he’s dead in the water and it’ll be a good thing since it means Sanders v Trump would have been a disaster.

I’d actually like all the other candidates out of the race to we could see who wins Biden v. Bernie heads up.

Interesting numbers for people who hadn't voted before:

In notching his second place victory in South Carolina, Sanders received the support of 26 percent of those who said they were voting in their first Democratic presidential primary. That far exceeded his performance of 18 percent among those who had voted before....

Biden's support among first-time voters, at 33 percent, was less than his support among return voters, which was 52 percent.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/live-blog/south-carolina-primary-live-updates-democrats-vote-2020-candidates-n1145296/ncrd1146326#liveBlogHeader

This could be an outlier given the demographics, but the new voters don't seem to be monolithic.

The left didn’t start ramping up the anti-war sentiment until after the 2004 election which is a big reason why public opinion hasn’t shifted that much at the time.I give more credit to the Dems with their fingers in the air, perhaps occasionally influenced by their constituents' noisy complaints.

The nearly total Dem conformity with GWB during 2001-2004 is even more striking now than it was at the time. GWBs overall approval rating spiked in the 90s.

iirc Kerry even said during his campaign that if he could do it all over again he’d still invade Iraq.

I have nothing against Biden but just think he’s an extremely flawed candidate. If the establishment presented a candidate who wasn’t so grotesquely flawed I’d be more supportive of nominating a moderate and “winning the center” (ie if Sherrod Brown was running) but the options to choose from are all shitty.

Depending on results, sure. Do you recognize that incumbents have natural advantages that must be overcome which weren’t in place in 2016?

will you blame Biden/Pete/Bloomberg voters?

I don't know about that. Incumbency is a double edged sword. You don't have the freedom to con people like you did the first time around, they already saw what you're about.

On the other hand, it also depends on the competition. Somebody like Biden is a well known quantity, so his BS leverage is also fairly low.

I know what you’re saying - when moderates lose elections it’s not their fault and they ran into a buzzsaw so it doesn’t count as a strike against the establishment strategy of winning the middle, but if Sanders loses it’s absolutely his fault for not being more moderate.

Bernie himself doesn't have a clear path. It's all about plurarity. No one is getting a majority.

Bernie needs to get at least 35-40% to avoid a contested convention. If Biden is withing 5 points of it Bernie is getting screwed.

One never knows what money (donors money) coupled with unaccountability and fear of going to prison if not in office will cause trump to do.

We dont know how he is going to pull off this feat of avoiding prison but history has shown that there are zero limits to his criminality.

It will not surprise me in the least if we are sitting here late at night on november 3rd watching trump making a victory speech and knowing full well he was part of something ominous and criminal and controversial that happened on election day.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Bernie Sanders says he doesn’t want a super PAC. Instead, he has Our Revolution, a nonprofit political organization he founded that functions much the same as one.

Like a super PAC, which is shorthand for super political action committee, Our Revolution can raise unlimited sums from wealthy patrons that dwarf the limits faced by candidates and conventional PACs. Unlike a super PAC, however, the group doesn’t have to disclose its donors — a stream of revenue commonly referred to as “dark money.”

Now, with less than one month to go before the Iowa caucuses, Our Revolution appears to be skirting campaign finance law, which forbids groups founded by federal candidates and officeholders from using large donations to finance federal election activity, including Sanders’ 2020 bid.

...

Our Revolution has taken in nearly $1 million from donors who gave more than the limits and whose identities it hasn’t fully disclosed, according to tax filings for 2016, 2017 and 2018. Much of it came from those who contributed six-figure sums.

It’s a 501(c)(4), not a super PAC. It doesn’t spend any money on campaign ads and does community organiing type shit. Warren specifically said super PACs.

“We invest our money ... in things like organizing and phone banks and canvassing voters on issues that matter. We aren’t running ads or doing glossy mailers,” he said.

...

But the money has financed a sprawling volunteer-driven operation to mobilize Sanders supporters that could be crucial to his chances of winning.

Last weekend, Our Revolution touted its outreach in eastern Iowa counties that voted for both Barack Obama and President Donald Trump, announcing a goal of enlisting 5,000 volunteers to help tilt next month’s caucuses in Sanders’ favor. On social media, it has amplified Sanders’ speeches and campaign initiatives while attacking his rivals. It has also sent out a steady stream of fundraising emails, which explicitly advocate for Sanders’ election.

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck ...

Overall, according to some polls, there's a split with Pete's voters between Bernie and Biden. He seems to have been the middle ground between the candidates for many.

As for NC, Biden is still on top, but Bernie is within striking distance. One poll has it 25 Biden and 23 Bernie.
